The cashier was counting cigarette packs and I stood there about 3 minutes waiting on him to finish. It was $7.99 for the tiny bottle of Nyquil, but I needed it so I got it anyway. The cashier rang it up at almost $11. I said that was wrong, the price said $7.99. He mumbled something I couldn't understand and just looked at me. I motioned to walk back to the aisle with me, and he did, and I showed him the price. He mumbled some more. I told him to just give me the right price and I'd be good. We went back to the register--I expected him to credit me a couple of bucks. He reached me back my $10 and took the Nyquil and walked away. I stood there a minute, then motioned to the Nyquil. He mumbled something else that was obviously negative, something about "you wanted a refund." I said no, I just wanted a credit of a couple of bucks to get the advertised price. He said whatever it rings up to IS the price. I left and bought a bigger bottle of Nyquil at the Thorton's for less money, and had a much nicer cashier. It's not the buck or two... it's the attitude that drove me away. If your employees aren't empowered to make purchases right, you must not trust them very much, and if you don't trust them, you shouldn't have them working for you.

I did price comparisons on toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen, pantry, staples, seasonings, and meat and Sam's Club beat Costco every time. Around the holidays, I love to get the massive wrapping paper roll and bonus points if you get it the day after Christmas for 50% off. I literally used a roll for 10 years and just finished it. My kids are gonna be sad that we have new wrapping paper next year.

The price of gas is competitive with other gas stations and at some point has been cheaper.

I don't get up this way often but I intentionally went to whole foods because they're having a HUGE sale on ice cream. I specifically went for the Jeni's ice cream because it was half off and I could justify that. But I also ended up getting some orange chicken, Asian green beans and teriyaki tofu from the hot bar. Which was really good! I forget how nice the salad bar, hot bar and bakery are. I went down the baking aisle and saw guittard red cocoa powder as well as regular. Whole foods does have items you can't find at any other store unless you order from the website or from Amazon. The employees are always super friendly and helpful. The store is clean, well organized and pretty well stocked. I went through self check out and there was no line so it was quick&I was out the door.
