The cashier was counting cigarette packs and I stood there about 3 minutes waiting on him to finish. It was $7.99 for the tiny bottle of Nyquil, but I needed it so I got it anyway. The cashier rang it up at almost $11. I said that was wrong, the price said $7.99. He mumbled something I couldn't understand and just looked at me. I motioned to walk back to the aisle with me, and he did, and I showed him the price. He mumbled some more. I told him to just give me the right price and I'd be good. We went back to the register--I expected him to credit me a couple of bucks. He reached me back my $10 and took the Nyquil and walked away. I stood there a minute, then motioned to the Nyquil. He mumbled something else that was obviously negative, something about "you wanted a refund." I said no, I just wanted a credit of a couple of bucks to get the advertised price. He said whatever it rings up to IS the price. I left and bought a bigger bottle of Nyquil at the Thorton's for less money, and had a much nicer cashier. It's not the buck or two... it's the attitude that drove me away. If your employees aren't empowered to make purchases right, you must not trust them very much, and if you don't trust them, you shouldn't have them working for you.

The parking lot depending on the time of day can have people just hanging out , they do on occasion ask them to leave of they're asking people for money . The price of gas is competitive with other gas stations and at some point has been cheaper.

I like cheap gas and this place doesn't have the cheapest gas around. My daughter on the other hand, only gets Shell gas because she swears that she gets more miles per gallon. This particular location has a touch less car wash, but I can't comment on it because I've never used it. I also have to admit that I can't comment much on the inside. I rarely go inside. They do sell local beer though, but that's not enough to entice me to go inside again. You go outside of Lexington and the Speedways are much nicer. Maybe it's because they're larger, and that gives them room for their inventory. Half of the time you're turning sideways to get through this store because of the displays that they don't have room for in the first place. Just another junk hole in the retail world. And the lines... there's always a line. It doesn't matter how many employees that are in the store "working". I actually went in once recently, the line was wrapped around the sales island, 1 employee was on the register, and the other 3 that were there were outside of the building, standing near the door smoking. Apparently, proving that you're oblivious to customers is a plus when you ask for a job here. And believe me, they're good at it. Granted, not everyone here is like this, but the majority are. I miss the crew that was here a few months back. Pretty good people that you could actually talk to, and they didn't act like you didn't exist.
