This little gem is exactly what I'm looking for in a coffee shop. I took two steps inside and felt…read morelike I was at home. The vibes are straight up moody, in the best way possible. Twinkle lights, a neon sign with the phrase "stay wild," plants everywhere and I mean everywhere! Little things that I noticed and loved included a table with a community puzzle and some board/card games, very cool artwork on the walls, and hints of Halloween (skeletons and skulls), my favorite. The community feeling was also very obvious. Everyone was friendly, there were so many cute dogs and people waving and saying hi to each other as they came and went. I loved it. Now, on to the coffee... I was going to be staying put for a while before jumping on the road for a three hour drive so I ended up getting two of their seasonal drinks and a pastry. I always go for the seasonal options and they had several good ones to try. I started with the "peelin' so good," a banana and caramel latte with strawberry drizzle. I opted to get it with oat milk. Oh my goodness, it was so good. You might question banana in a latte, but I've been seeing them pop up everywhere and it was delicious. I also got a babka pastry, which I had never heard of before. It's pretty much a braided roll mixed with a sticky bun. It had cinnamon in it and a syrup over it. I snacked on that while I was there and finished it in my car. Super tasty! Before I left I got the "beez nutz" latte because I knew I would need help staying awake while driving for three hours. It was a honey latte with a peanut butter cold foam. Also delicious. I sipped down every drop. This shop is the perfect mix of dark whimsy, community, and coffee. A special place indeed. Give them a visit!

I've been wanting to try silver linings, but they re branded under the name Anecdote. Same spot and building as silver linings. When I came in, I was immediately greeted by Clint, him and his wife Marty are the owners. Eventually, Marty came in while I was there and I got to chat with them. They are very sweet. They also own another coffee shop that I really liked which was the mocha nut, but now they are both under the name Anecdote. The inside had a chillaxed vibe, with comfy seating. The decor reminded me of the mocha nut as they had some of the same wall art. I was undecided of what to order, so I asked Clint for recommendations. He told me of some seasonal drinks and that always peaks my interest. I went for the Red velvet latte with almond milk and it was delicious. I got it hot and really enjoyed it, I'm sure it would be just as tasty cold. I chilled inside while sipping on my latte, sat with my thoughts to prep my day. They have a restroom located all the at in the back of this establishment. n the back area near the restroom, the seats were so comfortable that I enjoyed lingering there with my coffee and having a relaxed start to the day. They have really limited street parking as well as a few spots behind the store that the barista assured me were for Rabble customers. Very much a spot that the locals are frequenting but with welcoming and progressive vibes. They have some other really interesting non-coffee drinks on the menu too, so I'm definitely going to have to go back. Especially since I noticed Dear Mom is right next door! However, as I parked I spied Sleepy Hollow Gourmet Deli & Cafe along with a Jack's Donuts. I was curious. So, I wheeled over and realized they were like conjoined culinary twins. I detoured my plans and decided to hang out at Sleepy Hollow, a delightfully named establishment (though I do wish they'd lean into the decor a bit more) for this Irvington-set restaurant. Jack's does seem to be the dominant force here. There are donuts, bagels, cookies, and even kolaches. The prices are surprisingly affordable. Drinks include hot coffee, iced coffee, lattes, boba energy, and Pepsi products. They do have both sweet and unsweetened iced tea. The menu also includes Choc-ola! The deli menu includes toasted subs (every sub has 1/4-pound of meat and you can go double for an extra price). They use Boar's Head meats. You can get chips and a soft drink to make it a combo. This strip center is always a little hit-and-miss in terms of access, however, with some nearby road construction it seems just a bit slower and I was able to find a spot that improved my accessibility. If you go to the door by the entrance, the curb has a bit of a step to it. If you go to the end of the aisle, there's a smooth and level section to make it all easily work. The interior itself is nicely laid out and easily accessible. The employees were super friendly. They also offer catering. There's a combination of higher-top tables and regular tables. Business was fairly steady, however, I had no issue finding a place to sit. I ended up ordering a chicken salad sandwich that was a healthy size and quite tasty. I grabbed a bag of chips and my usual unsweetened iced tea. Pricing was right about $13. Overall, I was quite pleased and I would easily return. Whether you're seeking donuts or a deli sandwich, Sleepy Hollow (or Jack's) is an ideal place to stop in.

They have a nice selection of gluten free options, and what we sampled was delicious. The girls were all so tickled with their Princess Tea lunch. They received crowns, and we couldn't help but notice that each girl received a color that matched their outfit. Having a selection of finger sandwiches and little sweet treats thrilled them just as much as having pots of tea to sample from their pretty little teacups. Even the smallest details were tended to. My daughter is on a gluten free diet and seeing no GF offerings on the menu she ate before we went but joined us for the experience. Our reservation was for 12:30. We were seated within a few minutes. Our waitress, Ashlyn, arrived and introduced herself, promising to be back soon. 30 minutes later she returned and asked if we would like water. We said water and menus would be nice. 30 minutes later she brought a carafe of water and the menus. We had plenty of time to discuss the menu. When she returned she sat down in our extra chair and talked about the selections and made suggestions for us. Then told us to think about what we wanted and she would be back. 30 minutes later she returned and asked if we knew what we wanted. My sister told her we would like to order now. My granddaughters and I ordered the petite tea, consisting of a cup of soup, sandwich, scones and sweet treats, and tea. We all chose the baked potato soup, sweet and spicy turkey croissant, and vanilla almond tea - all served on a tiered tray. My GF daughter ordered a cup of tea. My sister ordered separately. Our tea pot was delivered and we waited for our order. Our waitress appeared 30 minutes later and asked if we needed anything. My sister said yes, we would like our orders. Our waitress apologized for the wait and said there was a mix up in orders in the kitchen. She reminded us that she did not prepare the food, just served it. Our food finally arrived. The cup of soup is literally a tea cup of soup and while it was delicious, it was 3 teaspoons of soup - which we used the same spoons we used for our tea as there were no soup spoons. The turkey croissant was grilled and flavorful, also 3 bites. The tea was now cold but the sweets were very tasty. When our waitress reappeared, she apologized for the long wait and offered to take half off my daughter's tea and noted that we would also save the tax that would be charged on the $5.00 tea. My sister told her that was not acceptable, that she thought half off the entire table was customary in the restaurant world, keeping in mind we have been there over 3 hours. The waitress said she would talk to the manager, then came back and asked us to meet the manager at the register. We ended up receiving half off the entire bill and there was half off for my daughter's tea. 3 stars for adjusting the bill and for the delicious food, that's 2 stars less than my previous glowing review for making my granddaughters first "tea room" experience less than stellar.
