As before, I give this a resounding 5 stars. The menu has changed a little bit since I last wrote a review, and I've tried some new items. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. My new go-tos are the raging chicken salad on a croissant and the berries and cream pastries. If you read my previous review, you will see that I was working up the nerve to try the chicken salad, because I'm somewhat meat-averse at times, and also don't like heavily mayonnaised foods, which is a big risk with any of the so-called "salad" items (potato, chicken, tuna, etc.) in life. I can now confirm that the chicken salad is 1) not overly mayonnaised and 2) made from not-gross chicken (I have no further explanation for this, but picky eaters will know what I mean). It's relatively light, has a nice texture, and is flavorful. It is one of my favorite weekend lunch items (or weekday, if I'm working remotely and in the area) now, not just here but in general. The berries and cream pastry is delicious and I would eat everyday, or even multiple times a day, if my figure and my wallet could afford it. Sweet, rich, flaky. Definitely one of my favorite dessert / sweet snack items currently. I also got a birthday cake made here and it was absolutely gorgeous (and delicious, obviously). Very well executed and totally got my vision. As I said before, there is plenty of seating inside (outside too!) and the volume level is perfect -- lots of people coming through, but quiet enough I can read, study, or do work. We spend several hours at a time in here some weekends. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

He was very friendly and very personable. You can tell he absolutely loves his city and coffee. He was just phenomenal. Several regulars stopped in and he knew them by name. They were equally as excited and praised his coffee. They had me super excited and glad that I stopped by. He does not sell prepared coffee drinks in the shop, but did recommend local bakeries and cafes that did. BTW, Dots & Pearls was one he recommended and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! He sales coffee beans. This is a roastery, so you're getting fresh roasted beans from some of the most notable coffee regions in the country. It is awesome. I purchased a bag of Sumatra dark roast and a big bottle of chai concentrate. My partner said the chai is delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend that you stop by and chat it up with the owner and of course purchase some high quality coffee. I definitely cannot wait to come back to High Point. Oh yeah, you can purchase the coffee online!!

We had been going to one in High Point but discovered this local one and gave it a shot! The esthetics of the location are so nice. A cozy coffee shop that has sufficient seating and some neat features! There is a coffee table the is a chalkboard on top where you can sit and doodle as you enjoy your drinks and snacks. We then discovered there's a whole wall of chalkboard! The girls loved being creative as Mom and Grandma relaxed. The employees are so sweet and gracious. I'd like to highlight Lorin in particular! She was so patient and accommodating with my 8 year old granddaughter who tends to interact on a high level. She engaged with her, even joined in on writing on the chalkboard with her! When Lorin discovered it was my other granddaughter's birthday, she said if she has known she would've perhaps bought her drink. (This is not to be expected btw anyone, of course. But the thoughtful and kind gesture was so appreciated!) She is a gem and deserves recognition for an amazing job of serving and engaging with the customers! Another bonus for me personally was that they had Christian music playing. It added to the sense of relaxation and gratitude of the day and new experience at Colonial Grind! We'll most definitely be back!

Upon entering, I was not greeted with a warm good morning as I saw others were. They may have been regulars but as a business, they should show all customers the same hospitality. I was also not approached the same as the four other people before me who were told to enjoy their day. My orders were called and placed on the counter with the employee quickly scurrying off. It may also help if the employees focused on one order at a time as I purchased 4 items and had to visit the counter three different times playing hopscotch with other customers. On top of that, the weird vibe I received from the other customers did not make me feel anymore welcome. I understand that the customers are who they are but my overall experience is the coffee is great but I will not be revisiting this establishment.

When I parked, I saw a sign for a new cheesecake stuffed waffle with bacon and maple syrup that looked delicious. At that point, I was torn between which one I wanted. I ordered at 10:30pm. I got the sausage, egg, and cheese waffle sandwich combo with fries and strawberry tea. With the $1 discount, it was $7.78 after tax. Per receipt, the cashier was Carol. He was friendly and polite. There was signature requesting patience as staff navigate a new ordering system. While waiting, I noticed a bunch of tea spilled on the counter. I'm not sure how long it had been there prior to be noticing or even how long it stayed there. All I'm saying, is you couldn't miss it. I also decided to eat in versus getting it to go. I received my food at 10:33am. Of course, I began munching on my fries first. I definitely had mixed consistency. I feel like majority were a somewhat overcooked, especially for wedges while a few here and there were fine. With my sandwich, I was a bit nervous as it has spicy syrup and I'm not a huge fan of spicy. However, I didn't have much of the syrup on my sandwich. I'm neutral about this lol. I enjoyed the sandwich those! As expected, the strawberry sweet tea was delicious. I love how they put actually strawberries in it. The only downside to that is it blocks the straw. Maybe they should consider wider straws to combat that. Before I left, I did stop the restroom. There was a peculiar aroma but it could have been from a previous occupant. The paper towel dispenser was opened. I'm not sure if it's broke or someone was being lazy.

We were there doing some behind-the-scenes content, and the space was welcoming, calm, and perfect for both conversation and getting things done. Drink-wise, everything was on point. The Honey Ginger Chai was smooth and comforting, especially with almond milk and a nice froth. The blueberry muffin (warmed) was simple but really good--sometimes that's all you need. My cappuccino, the José Conseco, truly lived up to its name: bold, smooth, and flavorful without needing any added sugar. That alone says a lot about the quality of their coffee. What stood out most is that Chi Rho really proves you don't need a lot of sugar or extra additives to make a great cup of coffee. The flavors speak for themselves. Whether you're stopping in for a family coffee run, a casual meeting, or just want a quality cup in a relaxed environment, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. We'll absolutely be back.

Initially I was a bit confused about how to get here, but it's in an older mall entrance by the drivers license office. It's a smaller coffee shop with lots of charm. The first thing I notice was the syrup flavors. There are plenty non traditional flavors like cinnamon roll, and butter pecan. Rodney ended up reading them out loud for me, because I'm a girl that like options. I was very appreciative. The prices are great; and the shop sells other vendor's baked goods, and art work. I really like a coaster that was there but I only purchased coffee, since I was headed out of town. There is an elderly facility connected to the mall,so Rodney introduced us to a 90 year old woman who told us a little joke. It made us laugh, and it was nice to see how well the owner remembered and interacted with his regular clientele. The latte had great flavor and Oat milk was an option; so that was an amazing alternative. My mixed flavor latte was butter pecan and caramel and it was delicious! My partner ordered a hazelnut iced latte. Once the flavor settles, in my opinion, the coffee could use a bit of liquid sugar, but overall, this was a fantastic iced latte. Rodney is great at holding conversation and building rapport, this was my first time, but it was a genuine connection that made me want to RAVVVVE about his coffee shop. Well deserved 5 stars for customer service, and coffee flavors. I'd recommend, refer, and return. Check him out!
