More than half of the pumps don't work and have bags over them. Just go to the Mobil that's not too far away from there and better prices

Such a gem, tucked away in a Detroit neighborhood, right off Ross Parks Blvd…read more The setting is enchanting: a restored church with attached rectory, lots of relaxing outdoor and patio seating and a stage for live music. Exploring the details of the building and the monthly artist they feature is worth the trip. People watching is another attraction. The Congregation pulls together a diverse group of people, reflecting the neighborhood it calls home. We are mocha snobs and thoroughly enjoyed our mocha prepared in a large mug. It was beautiful, rich and piping hot. This trio, we added a freshly sliced piece of banana chocolate chip bread. Look forward to trying some of their other menu offerings in the future. The staff worked efficiently and were friendly in an "urban setting" kind of way. Seating inside is ample yet also stayed full as this place appears to be quite popular. Prices were reasonable. We will return just to hang out and try more of their offering or the attached pizza place called The Rectory. On Wednesdays, they offer a local farmers market. Kudos to the visionaries who restored this building and created an interesting and warm community gathering place.

I had a caramel latte (recommended by the friendly staff) and it was worth every penny! I also really enjoy the atmosphere; from a nice little sitting area outside to the beans shooting over your head when you order (go and you'll see what I mean!). I know there are a lot of coffee shops in the Detroit area, but put this one towards the top of your list!

Super hot so it took a bit to cool, but then a strong roast. While the laws of thermodynamics were underway, I was able to watch the flow of customers, observe the "Javabot" that sadly no one used this morning and watch the Detroit traffic circling around Campus Martius. Other than I was not able to get their wifi to work (Detroit has a free wifi as well), it was a good resting spot with quiet background music and it never did get any other sit down customers while I dawdled. I was here just after they opened (at 6 am!) and enjoyed morning coffee and wifi before heading to the office. I love a coffee shop that has a cortado on the menu. Or a Gibraltar. This tells me that the barista isn't some button pusher but instead of a craft coffee barista who actually has some training. I'm talking to you, Green Siren people. The barista this morning assembled a perfect cortado for me. Half espresso and half steamed (not foamed) milk in a short glass. I love the cortado because it's the same amount of coffee as a big latte but now I won't need to hit the restroom all morning! It was fabulous, delivered to my table as I wrote my morning's Yelp reviews. Dessert Oasis is a little grunge, a little industrial, a little coffee shop. It's not fancy but they have lovely wooden tables, comfortable seating, quiet music and power outlets. If I wasn't heading into the office, I could spend all day sitting here and OD'ing on great coffee. [Review 869 of 2025 - 434 in Michigan - 24426 overall]

It is in front of a building that has a lot of other storefronts...but if you park anywhere on that block of Michigan Ave you will be within walking distance. They thrive in coffee and pastries but they do have a really good egg sandwich as well. They are super nice and friendly and will walk your food to your table. It's not a large shop so it may be crowded depending on what time you go. There is a countertop that seats 4, a long table ther seats about 10, and a few 2 top tables. If you have a large group this may not be for you. Alba egg sandie - this was an excellent sandwich. I wish it had sausage or bacon on it but regardless it's great. It's light and fluffy as well as airy and savory. It comes with the aioli/chive and this is what sets it off. But the egg is thick and the perfect size to boot.
