Compared with other restaurants and retailers in the area, where we have consistently encountered exceptionally friendly and welcoming customer service, Woodman's seems to fall noticeably short. On each of our shopping visits, employees have generally failed to greet or acknowledge us, even when we approach them for assistance. When we do ask for help, their responses often come across as curt, dismissive, and as though helping a customer is an inconvenience. For a company that takes pride in being employee-owned, this is particularly disappointing. One would hope that employee ownership would foster a greater sense of pride, engagement, and commitment to the customer experience, along with a shared interest in the store's success. Woodman's has a great concept and offers shoppers a lot of potential value. However, the lack of warmth and welcoming customer service creates an uninviting atmosphere that detracts from the overall shopping experience. We wanted to share this feedback because we would genuinely like to see Woodman's live up to its reputation and become a store we enjoy visiting regularly. A simple greeting, a friendly attitude, and a willingness to assist customers would go a long way toward making shoppers feel welcome and appreciated.

The last time, a woman by the name of Jo, who works in the gas station said I had to take a picture of the pump the gas and how much I bought so she could find my car wash so I did it this time and came to her and she could not find it and said oh well I said I paid $10. I wanna have my car washed. I can't find it. I said the picture shows what time I was there. How hard could it be to find they're in order. Immediately when we walked into this store, he practically told us to get out. This employee never acknowledges us. I simply asked if we could purchase IL scratch-off lottery tickets. I was immediately told in a very aggressive tone that lottery is closed. I can use the machine. Trust me, I would have preferred to use the machine, but the ticket I wanted was behind the register. I then asked why scratch-off lottery was closed and he yelled that they close at 9? Still prompting for an explanation, as I knew that you could purchase and redeem lottery scratch-off tickets, until 2am, he simply screamed that it was closed and to get out. He did finally check her out but was not happy about it. In fact, he mentioned under his breath that you only come in here to get everything free! Yes, we do come in because this is the only location near us, to redeem our promotion earnings, but if they did not want to honor these, they should not be a Circle K Franchise. This is simply unacceptable as nobody should be treated this way, especially as a customer. To make matters worse, I stopped back in this evening 4/28 at 8:30 p.m. to purchase the scratch-off tickets. It was a different clerk, so I asked him what time they stop selling scratch-offs behind the counter. He told me never. You can purchase those 24/7! So, here in lies my point. Absolutely ridiculous. In fact, this one had no line at all during our fill-up. It has 4 islands, with the 3 leftmost having 3 pumps (thus requiring parallel parking if the middle one is the only one open) while the far right only has 2. (22 nozzles in all). Price per gallon was $3.799 for 87, but 93 octane was $5.099 (a 33% markup)...super glad that our car was fine with 87. It's close enough to the Costco warehouse to notice how empty the parking lot felt on a Monday afternoon. This time, though, my wife didn't want to browse (probably because we would have to take it home by plane).
