East African Coffee House - Chipotle Chicken Ciabatta

WELCOME TO EAST AFRICAN COFFEE HOUSE EAST AFRICAN COFFEE…read moreHOUSE Where Every Cup Tells a Story Stopped in this evening for Somali "Shaah" - a fragrant East African black tea infused with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and milk. Also tried the Tiramisu Matcha, and of course, the coffee here is proudly East African. Ethiopia, after all, is the birthplace of coffee. EAST AFRICAN COFFEE HOUSE 4359 Morse Rd, Columbus, OH 43230 https://www.eastafricancoffeehouse.com/ Where Every Cup Tells a Story East African Coffee House tonight. Somali Shaah with cardamom + cinnamon. Tiramisu Matcha. Coffee from the birthplace - Ethiopia. A whole story in every cup.

This coffee house was recommended on TikTok so I decided to take the 1/2 hour ride to check it out…read more Customer Service: Nothing to write home about. While employees were nice, I can't say they were overly inviting. When asked about the bagged coffee beans and instant coffee, the employee offered very limited knowledge of it. I was unfamiliar with the coffee type so wanted more info. I purchased instant coffee and will research on my own. Biscoff Latte - not enough espresso flavor. The latte tasted like there was way too much milk. If I decide to return, I will order extra espresso shots as I didn't taste coffee. I understand lattes are made with milk but I prefer a balanced flavor of espresso in my lattes which I find typical at other coffee shops. My assumption is that the Biscoff flavor comes from the cookie butter on the walls of the cup. In order to taste Biscoff, you have to scrape the butter off the sides. Not what I was looking for. App & Pre-Orders: I was impressed with their app and ability to preorder. The app is very nice but according to the employee at the register - if you buy coffee beans or other merchandise, you cannot get points in the app. Not a deal breaker but would be nice if this was made possible. Interior Decor: I was impressed with the interior of this coffee shop. I thought it was bright, crisp and minimalistic. Loved the wall decor and lighting. I would not describe the space as cozy like other coffee shops but being different is good! Overall, I plan to give this place another try to taste the coffee in its true basic form - straight black coffee/espresso. I would also like to try the food options!

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea - Dirty Cold Brew

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea

YE Gurl Says: A Global Sip Close to Home at Sweetwaters…read more Place: Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea Date: Post-chiro coffee run After an early morning reset, I needed caffeine and a quick bite before heading into calls--and landed at Sweetwaters in Dublin. Now, this isn't just another coffee chain. Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea was founded in Ann Arbor by first-generation children of Chinese immigrants, and you can feel that global influence all over the menu. It's not trying to be trendy--it's rooted in something real. A mix of European café staples and Asian-inspired drinks that actually make sense together. Order of the day: * French Vietnamese Au Lait * Egg & Cheese Biscuit Let's start with the drink. The French Vietnamese Au Lait is their signature for a reason--dark roasted chicory coffee meets sweetened condensed milk. Rich, smooth, slightly indulgent... and yes, I completely forgot I don't usually drink regular milk. That's how good it was. The egg & cheese biscuit was a smart add. Made to order, warm, and surprisingly satisfying for something quick. Not overly heavy, but enough to hold me over while taking calls. The setup leans more drive-thru convenience, especially with its proximity to hospitals and office hubs--but don't overlook the interior. There's actually plenty of seating if you want to sit down, reset, and get a bit of work done. YE Gurl says: Sweetwaters hits that sweet spot between familiar and globally inspired. If you're tired of the same coffee rotation, this is an easy upgrade--especially for that French Vietnamese Au Lait alone. Just... maybe remember your dairy limits before you get too comfortable.

I have recently begun, stepping away from coffee and then enjoying tea…read more I was at a doctors appointment and found myself passing by the Plaza at Hamilton. Quarter noticed that Sweetwaters is still in the shopping center, so I decided to make a quick detour and get a iced tea. My kids and their friends are always hurrying about carrying Matcha teas. I've never had one. I was feeling adventurous so I decided to get one. House I drove up I noticed they featured a Macha special day drink. on their drive-through menu board - a Matcha strawberry. It looked good, but it also said that it was available in different flavors. Options?!?! I love options. -mango being one of them! So, I asked the girl taking the order if a mango Matcha was any good. She says it depends if you like mango. I was getting the feeling that she does not I don't know. well, I do (a-lot) so I tried it. I don't know if it's just that I really do not enjoy Matcha or if Matcha and mango is a combo one should just avoid... I fear both may be true with me... initially I thoroughly did not enjoy this Matcha. The Green of the Matcha was a bit much or this "olds", I mean... Come on it really looks like something yucky It's the same color as something we just won't mention. but I was willing to continue to give it a shot but when you add the orange of the thick purée the color whisper, particularly alarming and upsetting. Still I was determined to give it a go..., mmmmmm , no. I am joking. It wasn't mmmmmm But I didn't throw it away. I kept giving it shot after shot. And you know what??? once I swirled it around and around and around and mixed everything all up, it wasn't awful. In fact, if it didn't come in a clear cup, I think I might've liked it. That's for the business itself: It was easy to see from the road and it was equally as easy to get to. They have a drive-through in the back, which is how you enter the parking lot so that's a plus. They have two menu boards easy to see manual items even when you're behind a car that's ordering (that's a plus). The staff was helpful and polite. The drink was presented well. It didn't have an abundance of ice and very little product. The drink was quite balanced appropriately. I asked for their equivalent of Boba and I got a decent amount. The pricing is a little high. I think my drink was eight dollars, but I feel like it was worth it. I don't usually say that. And I'm shocked that I'm saying that because I now now I don't love love love love love Macha. So would I come back? Well, I think I would. Actually, I know I would Ps: it's a 70-30 chance if I would get this again, which is a higher average than I would've initially thought. Good job Sweetwater.!!!

Everything looked so good but we limited ourselves to one pastry each. Blueberry Gallete and Everything Danish were the winners. Great choices! The sugar sprinkles around the Blueberry Gallete put it over the top! There were so many blueberries you got a piece in every bite. The Everything Danish was good but was tad crisp. The chive cream cheese on top was so great I'm glad there was more than I would normally want. Drinks were good but took longer than we had hoped. There was only 1 barista but she was working hard with all the orders coming in. I enjoyed the latte art but sadly we got cold drinks. I enjoyed the offered seasonal flavors such as Gingerbread. I did notice that matcha was sitting in a carafe ready to go if someone was ready to order. Not sure how I feel about that as it can get clumpy waiting around. Seating can be a bit tough during peak hours. There are two communal type tables in the middle which are nice for larger groups. Outdoor patio seating as well but not on these colder winter days. Team was super friendly! Will come back again and actually enjoy a coffee and pastry there. Tip: Blueberry Gallete is soo flaky and buttery do not eat it in the car. lol. I got three huge flakes on my sweater as I took a bite. Well worth it.

Adding to my previous reviews... This coffee house continues to be one of the best in the area…read more It was a rainy day today. I still decided to utilize their walk up window simply because I had a car full of dogs and I didn't want them to miss me. The window is pretty easy. It does have an awning, but it doesn't really work very well when it's raining cause it's a little narrow and width. However, the barista prioritized me standing in the rain and quickly took my order I told her I was gonna go back and wait in the car because I had a car full of dogs. When my coffee was ready, she noticed that I was getting attention to my dogs and she decided to hand-deliver my coffee to my car. It's a little things like that that make a difference to somebody's day. Whoever does a hiring at this location has a talent for picking the best people. The ratings in this place are solid five star so it's confusing why but perhaps I had a bad experience with the food and that's not reflective of the whole place of course. First off, the service was good. The girl was friendly and told me I should come back to try that strawberry drink that was on the sign. Second, I can't judge a drink since I didn't have one so late in the evening, but I did get a piece of coffee cake and it was one of the worst things I have eaten in a long time. It tasted like paste in my mouth... Purely flour , butter and sugar. There was not a texture from a crumble at all. And the cinnamon was a complete afterthought. When I say that it tasted mostly like flour, I am not exaggerating. Lastly, the place definitely is cute inside and it seems to be connected to the Goat by hallway.

My car filled up with the sweet aroma of a freshly fried donut and notes of strawberry. I was so excited to take a bite and the flavors did not disappoint. So good I forgot to take a picture! I decided to go with a few of the created flavors, Honey Blue, Raspberry Beret, and the Mitch. They came piping hot out and were glazed and topped right in front of me. It was great but the icing didn't have a chance to set fully because the donut was so hot. I suggest to ask if you can have them wait a minute or two before putting on the glaze I love the story behind explaining who Donna is. I love learning the back story of any business. That has been my prior experiences - except when it was a pit stop en route to my mom's house in Cleveland - where I'd work there for a couple hours after driving most of the way up prior to dawn. Anyways, for some unknown reason, I was simply obsessed with the Lavender Oatmilk Matcha Latte drink. I think it was the colorful photos I saw. I'm a purple girl who is also into health - so the green and purple were my jam. SPOILER - the drink was green - no sign of purple. I did my research and found the caloric intake in consuming one acceptable - unlike some of the other Starbucks fru-fru abominations. The times I do drink a Starbucks drink - it's a black decaf pour-over. So it was go big or go home. Extra big Lavender Oatmilk Matcha Latte for me. Around 300 calories and $6.75. Fortunately, I had a gift card someone had given my husband - someone who didn't know he was strictly a Mountain Dew guy. I put in my order and no wait in line. It was mid-afternoon and I figured I'd be quickly served. It blows my mind the drive through lines I see wrapped around Starbucks at all times of the day! Anyways, the gift card covered the cost of my drink and I found a spot to wait. About 5 minutes later, my drink was ready. I got it and headed out the door. I had finished running errands and would enjoy on the way home. It had a definite lavender and matcha taste. No question about it. The cream added a sweetness that was critical to my liking it - more of this later. I did find that I only took a couple sips on the way home. After getting home, I had yard work to do and this puppy lasted the entire time. Those were some hard core ice cubes that refused to melt. I was determined to drink every last drip - ice meltings and all. Overall, I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Definitely a love/hate thing I'm guessing. You either enjoy these tastes or not. I decided I liked them. As a result, I Googled how to make one and went about securing the ingredients. Matcha latte powder - available at Kroger. Lavender syrup - lavender in the spice section at Kroger and was able to make with Stevia I had on hand. And then I bought sugar free cool whip to add some creaminess. And bonus - I bought myself a frother (also at Kroger). I don't know if it tastes exactly the same - but I'm find it drinks the same as the original. I make one in the mid-afternoon rather than eating a snack - and it lasts the rest of my workday. I recommend you give it a try if it sounds like your jam - then figure out how to make at home to save on $$. I figure mine cost about $2 for the same size - the only real costs were Matcha latte powder ($1 a serving) and the lavender spice ($3 and it will go about 8 or so servings and the syrup is only good for up to 2 weeks in the fridge once made). Probably all TMI but worth writing about.
