Today in Grave City on Broadway, 6 pumps were turned off, the car wash has not worked in a month, yet the clerk sells car wash tickets. A week ago, the credit card machine was not working, and I walked in to see the clerk drinking a beer. Information screens at pumps are so scratched and dim I can't read them. Shows a total lack of management from the top down. My guess is that Speedway Management gets gas at SHEETS.

However, today I was near the Kroger and needed to fill up after grocery shopping and before heading to Cleveland at the butt crack of dawn the next day. For a Sunday around noon, the place was relatively empty - NO WAIT. Boo yah. Pricing was about average. I could have got cheaper per gallon elsewhere - but I was there and had the discount. So for mere convenience and the fact I was near empty (the only time I use discounts), I filled her up. Overall, Kroger fuel places are pretty good. In the past when I've needed to put air in the tires, if you ask they'll turn on the air for you (no charge). Other than that, I have no interaction with the attendant. That's how it worked today, paid at the pump, pumped it myself, got my receipt and went on my happy way. Now, it will be a while before I get any measurable points built up. Let's see if hubby notices that I used them. Probably not!

Empty your garbage cans next to where I have to self serve. Clean your squeegee buckets. Adding more washer fluid to a filthy bucket creates dirty windows and a fowl smell. Please put the hand sanitizers back out for us. Quit charging for an air compressor to fill tires. IT'S AIR !

The lot was fairly clean but there were several washer fluid containers without a squeegee and no towels. Their trash cans were not overflowing. Cashier was friendly and appeared to be the only one on the clock or at least on the floor. With multiple people ahead of buying lottery tickets, my five person line took just over ten minutes. I would think another employee on the clock would have opened a second register or taken care of the lottery tickets. I don't blame the employee, I blame management. I save them money by paying cash for gas and they waste my money by keeping me in line for ten minutes. Perhaps next time I see a manager at Speedway and they aren't busy I will make ten purchases under $5.00 each so I can bill them for my time and waste the manager's time. Speedway isn't bad, but they are far from great. I do like their gas and they seem to have 1000's of stores so they are all over the place

Her hair caught my eye - it was in braids and as she was making scooping ice cream for another customer noticed her leaning over the ice cream cooler and braids were swinging over the ice cream. When my turn came I told her I had a problem with her hair and told her hair - even in braids were swinging over the ice cream and she needed to be wearing a hair net. It made me sick. My friend and I left the store and went elsewhere for ice cream. Where is he manager to tell this gal what do do with her hair and advise her on hygine. Who wants hair in their ice cream.

Store was nice and clean and overall was a good experience. Besides, I love Sheetz for the fuel prices. That is what keeps me coming back and searching out locations. Gas price was still high, so I'm glad I didn't need it. Pop prices were reasonable, and there's a decent selection. The mini mart is small, and a little disorganized. Clothes here and there, a minimal assortment of snacks and dry goods, etc. Smells funny- bathroom issues? Anyway, I got in and out, and won't be back.
