I will start off by saying GLO is truly missed!!! Since she has no longer been the manager,the store has turned into nothing but HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Let's start off by saying the new manager they have now, has NO customer service, she does not greet, does not speak to the customers at all, is always on her phone or the computer, there can be a line full of customers and she DOES not even open a register to bring the line down. I'm an everyday customer I have been coming to this gas station for Years... I have not once seen that manager go on the floor and stock anything let alone stock cooler... since Glo has been gone they never have anything.. NO creams for coffee, how if you are a gas station? NO SUGAR, NO HOT FOOD, NO hot dog buns, Cooler is always empty!!! Floor is always dirty, slurpees machines are always empty.. when Glo was here she maintained the store Clean, with Great customer service was always making sure the items we needed where there, she always went above and beyond!! These New employees are always on there phone, they have horrible customer service, they are all children working on the register!! You rack up points every time you buy gas, and you can also get free coffee and soft drinks from being a frequent buyer. The company must do great things to keep their franchise owners trained and happy. This Speedway is the closest to my apartment, and is woefully NOT one of those great Speedways. The pumps are ALL prepay, which makes the inside of the store a clusterfutz, even if you're just stopping in for Vitamin water. I always pay at the pump here and swipe my Speedy Rewards card beforehand, but my points never end up showing up in my account. Methinks this isn't even a Speedway, proper! The pumps are always full of other drivers, and today there was a guy who had parked his Caddy at a pump and was just sitting outside the store talking on his cell phone. A lady parked behind him had to gyrate her car between two pumps, and about 3 cars waited for a free pump. So rude. A matronly looking Mexican lady once tried to sell me her secret mole sauce here. I was so tempted to buy it: It could either have been the BEST.MOLE.EVER or would've lead to e.coli. I decided not to take my chances, but damn, I'm still curious! I'll also be curious to see if my Speedy Rewards points from today show up in my account. April is offering Bonus Points and I want that damn gift card! Wait, what do you say? I actually like this place but the speedy cafe is where the problem is. I ordered fries just fries I got raw undercooked fries. I didnt notice until i was about 2 miles away. I don't have a car, but I do need a refreshing drink from time to time when out on my bicycle. There is an array of drink selection. They also have a slushie machine....yum. It is the light and fluffy kind, not like a slurpie. Be careful when in the pump area. This is a tight squeeze for cars and bikes alike. This last time I stopped in, a lady hit the pole barrier protecting the pump, then was backing out, almost hit me (I was standing on the side) then almost hit another pole protecting the building. It's a gas station. I mean, this is in my neighborhood and Costco isn't, so often times I'll end up here just out of convenience. However, in the past 3 years that I've been coming here, I've never had an issue. There are 12 pumps. They're actually spaced out enough so that people parked properly have left enough room for others to drive through. You can even exit between the pumps. With as busy as this place gets, that's actually a big deal. I've never been one to enjoy pumping gas late at night when most people are asleep. However, this place is so brightly lit and there are usually other people there at all times, I never feel unsafe. For me, it's not a neighborhood thing (I used to live 2 blocks away and felt safe), it's being at a gas station late at night. I've had creepy experiences in the past. Anyhow, this place is typically the cheapest around. In comparison to Costco, sometimes they're the same, sometimes they're more. Definitely prefer this Speedway over the Citgo on Kedzie. read more

This is the Michael Jordan of gas stations to me. Yes they have the same basic necessities most gas stations have...Gas, drinks, chips etc. Yet what sets them apart is the immense selection to choose from. So many yummy coffee, cappuccino flavors including a small selection of real doughnuts to choose from. Any kinda cold drink you can imagine. My personal favorite is the rewards program (They give you a cool key-chain bar code) that allows you to accumulate points with every purchase and redeem them for items sold there at a later time. Worst gas station ever. I was there tonight getting gas and as i pumped I watched an employee chain smoke a cigarette right outside, maybe 5 feet from the door and 5 feet from the pump. THEN she FLICKED them! Both! In the direction of the pumps..I went inside and asked the employee inside to ask her co coworker not to do so, I thought it was dangerous since there are NO SMOKING signs ALL OVER a gas station, and she responded with, "I don't know what to tell you, she allowed to do that. I do the same thang." said SHATANYAYA- (sp??) THE employee inside. I asked for the # to corporate or the managers name or hours she said she has neither available and again "I don't know what to tell you" If you have children and use this gad station keep your eyes open you and them could be in danger ANYTIME you pump there... I will never go to a speedway again. I get a call from my daughter crying hysterically that gasoline splashed all over her face. I rush over there to find her in the bathroom crying and her eyes red and face red. She got gas all over her clothes. She had to throw everything away. By the way it was expensive coat and shoes. Do you think speedway will refund!?! I don't think so. I went inside and asked the assistant manager for first aid kit and solution for eyes to rinse. She completely denied me all that. She had no sympathy towards this situation. No protocol was acted towards this emergency. I asked to report that pump and she says: " no one has complained about all day" are you serious? So she doesn't give a damn if it happens to the next person. I went back for a refund she had the nerve to question if I got any gas because she didn't want to give a full refund. This was an emergency and the staff handled it carelessly. The assistant manager was unconcerned at all times. She admitted to not having first aid kit and not being trained. This place has dirty bathrooms. They allow many drug addicts to use the bathroom for their drug use. You can't pump peacefully because your constantly disturbed from all the soliciting. Ive been around this gas station for the past 15yrs and I gotta say it sucks big time!! read more
