Stopped in to top off before hitting the road to head north. Big location with a nice convenience store.

I sometimes like to be efficient and that is why I like the self checkout lanes at grocery stores...here, they don't have them. The company wants to have cash registers manned and open to encourage customer interaction. Good thing to focus on human interactions.

Yes, it's not as luxurious to shop in, it's usually mobbed, the aisles are tight and the parking lot sucks. Produce is not as great in some items, and they don't carry as many super-speciality foods as Whole Foods or Stop & Shop. However, the people who work there are amazing. They are abundant (try almost every checkout line open during rush) and helpful, and friendly, and the store is well stocked and well managed. No self checkout crap. You don't need it, there's always a line open. We'd kill for an upgraded facility like the nicer newer Market Baskets that do exist, but our Bellingham store crew, from the managers to the baggers are amazing, and make shopping here worth the visit. Their meat department is wonderful, the seafood is great and if you can get near the deli, they work hard and are great too. Finally, a shout out to the bakery and prepared food folks - they are awesome. The food is great and they couldn't be more helpful. We love MB, just wish it was as a new one. Oh, and don't go near the place the day before a major snowstorm, or any Sunday at noon. Plan your visit if possible. 5 stars for the staff and people and management, 3 for the facility. It really needs an upgrade.

I've got to be honest, most of the time, it's not exactly a touchdown in the culinary department. However, once in a blue moon, you stumble upon a hidden gem on their menu that can pleasantly surprise you. Take, for instance, their breakfast empanadas. Now, these little pockets of goodness are actually quite delicious. They've got that flaky crust and a filling that hits the spot. I'll give credit where it's due; these are worth a try. And then there's the cheeseburger and pickle pizza. It might sound unconventional, but it's got a unique flavor that can grow on you. The combination of cheeseburger and pickle actually works surprisingly well, and it's worth sampling if you're feeling adventurous. But let's not kid ourselves, Cumberland Farms isn't exactly a gourmet destination. Most of the offerings are what they are - quick, convenient, and sometimes forgettable. And the consistency can be hit or miss, like a Patriots performance on any given Sunday. So, in summary, if you find yourself at Cumberland Farms, don't expect culinary greatness. But do keep an eye out for those rare moments when you stumble upon something unexpectedly tasty, like those breakfast empanadas and cheeseburger/pickle pizza. Just remember, it's all about managing your expectations in this game. FYI - staff is very polite.
