Went in to buy a bottle of wine for cooking and was told that my fully real ID was fake and denied the sale... Claimed he "knew what a real ID looked like". Even after asking if he would call the police for confirmation he said no and denied me service. Unreal. read more

Convenient location, friendly service, reasonable prices. Some of these poor reviews appear to be written out of ignorance and somewhat based on demographics. This place is small, but has everything and is always well kempt. I don't know how someone could write a bad review about a liquor store... and excuse me if the "woman" isn't very talkative, what do you want from her? To become BFFs? I have been to Larry's many times and will continue to patronize the store. I find them friendly, hard working and really care. They know many many customers by name and work very hard while putting in long hours. People need to understand that Customer Service is the key to the success of any business and Larry's has it. I have gone to other places where you are not even acknowledged. I have always found Larry's to be professional, caring and they try to meet the needs of all their customers. Their pricing is more than reasonable and the selection is better than many other places. I like to go to a place where I know that I am getting good service at a fair price. I find it hard to believe that anyone could find fault with this locale. read more

Not sure what the other bad reviews are about... there seems to be three attendants/owners. The lady is not the best but she does what she has to do. The two other guys are extremely nice. Prices are very comparable now and they have a good amount. Not a ton like a specialty liquor store, but a lot for such a central place. Bought a lottery ticket from them at 10pm and won 5 dollars. I immediately went to receive the 5 dollars from them about 2 minutes after purchase. Cashier told me "lottery is closed go next door" I asked him where would he like me to go, he wouldn't tell me. They are willing to sell lottery tickets, but will not give money from winning. That may be illegal, I am not certain. read more

I patronized Larry's when I first moved to this area for a few weeks. I have suffered the rude "service" from the woman behind the counter for awhile, but her behavior during my last visit was so outrageous that I'll never set foot in there again. As I was counting out my cash at the register, she grabbed it from my hand, counted it herself in a loud, shrill voice, stuffed it in the drawer, shoved my wine at me and moved on to the next customer. Had I not been absolutely dumbstruck, I would have demanded my money back and left the store. There are numerous other package stores in the area where customers are treated with respect by polite and friendly staff. The attitude at Larry's goes way beyond rude; it is insulting. I honestly don't know how they stay in business - and maybe they won't for much longer! read more

Certainly is a great location. So they do well even with other convenience type gas stations right nearby. They need to do things to keep their regular customets. Maybe offer specials and foods other places don't have. Still has potential. read more

My boyfriend loves to play with her...being overly sweet just to get her mad. We just left and another guy, a complete stranger to us, told us he hates going in there because of her. I was very impressed the last time I walked into Larry's since it has been taken over by new management not only does the place look immaculate but it's fully stocked! the staff is always nice & very helpful..I was losing hope in this place back December would have given it 1 star now I'm giving it a 5! will definetely be stopping by more frequently read more

What a difference new management makes. Haven't visited in years because of a previously poor experience. New management has increased variety of craft beer (warm & cold), liquor, and even gotten the deli up and running. The friendly staff even said "hello, thank you, and goodbye", without a sale, which is becoming more rare these days business-to-consumer sales. read more

Larry's is a unique little gem tucked away at the intersection of two main streets in Bellingham. When you first drive by Larry's, you might not even think it's a liquor store because it looks like an old Agway barn. There's also a hot dog vendor in the parking lot from about March until September, which is a little odd. Anyway, if you get past all that and go into Larry's you'll have to make a decision. Do you want bread or do you want booze? That's right, Larry's is a convenience store AND a liquor store! The liquor store portion is a little on the small side, but they have all the basics and a few unique items like Strongbow beer. Their prices are a little on the ridiculous side for liquor considering all of the competition they have within a 5 minute drive in any direction. Oh, and don't return any bottles to Larry's for the 5 cent deposit, because they never take your deposit off the price of the alcohol that you buy. That's right drunken cashier lady, I'm onto you. read more

The rude woman at the counter has never said more than whatever the total amount due was. Until today...one of the two men that is usually there once noticed that I was always buying an 18 pack of beer, he took it upon himself to ask if I would prefer 24? I said yes, he told me to grab two 12 packs and he'd charge me the 24 price. Great customer service, have been doing this all along for months now. Today, when I bring back my 24 recyclables and carry my two 12 packs up to the register, not only does this woman whose been doing this all along, try to charge me for two 12 packs she also failed to deduct my redemptions that she watched me walk in with and asked me how many I had. I remind her that the guy (who I don't see today) sells it to me for the 24 price, she calls the other guy over and he says no. So...off I go, with my 24 recyclables down the street to Douglas Wine & Spirits...and that's where I'll continue to go from now on. So today, for the first time ever, the woman behind the counter tells me to have a good day. read more

If you decide to accidentally walk into this place don't say I didn't try to warn you. This place is an absolutely pit as far as liquor stores are concerned. From constant out of stocks of a sub par selection to a generally filthy atmosphere they've actually managed to sink even further. I am a resident of the area and have found since the "new" management have taken over all they do is put down other businesses in the area rather than focusing on their own issues. Granted business is always tough but when I walk in I don't want to hear harassing comments if I ask if there's someone else in the area that might have the item I am looking for. Then to make things worse the comments on the next local store have one bad review and it just happens to be the same person that gave this pit a 5 star review, coincidence...I think not. I would go into Larry's for convenience but after this last encounter not only will I never be going back in I will make sure everyone I know hears about it and does their business elsewhere. If this is the "new" managements take on getting customers back than they are seriously over their heads in the market. Go about a mile down the street and look in the market basket plaza. It gets a little crowded in there but once you go in you will realize how big of a mistake it was ever going to Larry's. read more

Larry's use to be a pretty good place, but with in the last 6-8 months management has sunk the place! I live very close by and on many occasions have walked in and walked out, they hardly ever have Miller, Sam Adams or Corona products in stock. read more
