Avoid This Dry Cleaner at All Costs! I recently had the misfortune of using this dry cleaner for the first time, and I can confidently say it will be my last. I brought in my coat for dry cleaning and to have some sewing done inside. When I picked it up, I was shocked to find that the coat's hat was barely attached--held on by a flimsy safety pin! To make matters worse, the zipper was completely broken. When I approached the staff to ask what had happened, the woman at the counter acted as if she didn't understand my concerns. Instead of taking responsibility for the damage, she had the audacity to demand $20 from me to fix what they had broken. Her attitude was nothing short of disrespectful and rude. Ignoring my frustration, she continued to insist that I should pay her for the repairs. This level of customer service is appalling, and I felt utterly disrespected. I will never return to this establishment and would strongly advise anyone considering using their services to think twice. The down jacket has fur on the hood, which was removable. I am not a professional and did not know what would happen if I dry cleaned it. That fur has shrunk and is not in its original shape. I asked the lady and was told that that is what happens after dry cleaning, but why didn't she tell me that the fur should be removed before dry cleaning? Then she said "oh my god" as if she was giving up and left me alone. No apology and totally unprofessional. Also, the first pick up was still dirty and I asked them to redo it and it is still dirty. UPDATE: Heidi (mentioned in my review below) just messaged me and instead of apologizing or even trying to rectify the situation, she chose to mock me. I've attached her message as a photo. This clearly shows the lack of respect and unprofessionalism that this business has towards their customers. It's very sad bc I've been coming here for 15 years. I've been coming here for years to get my clothes drycleaned and tailored but the experience that I just had here guarantees that I or my family will never come back. I gave my coat in exactly a week ago to be tailored (my dog ripped the half of the stitching on the arm). I was told that I would have to pick it up a week later, After 4PM. So I just went in which was less an hour before the designated time and incredibly unprofessional woman at the front, Heidi, said that it wasn't ready and to come back at 6:30P. I understand that I was 55 mins early but now she's adding on 2 and half extra hours is ridiculous. But you know things happen.. the main reason why I'm rating this place with 1 star is that Heidi has the most disgusting attitude. Instead of owning the fact that they were in the wrong, she says to me "yea that's why I said 6:30PM because it says to come after 4P". I explained that I could have come in at 4:30P and it still would not have been ready. But she doesn't care. I also told her that I won't be coming back and she's ok "ok". It's very sad that place hires people that doesn't have any concern for the customer. If she had handled her attitude and this situation better then they wouldn't have just lost 4 peoples regular business. Bottom line, if you want to be treated with the utmost disrespect and unprofessionalism, then you're welcome to go here. Also, be prepared to wait over a week for your items. Management needs to get better staff bc the front desk is always the face of the business. Speed All Cleaners - This is how the business chose to respond to my negative review on Yelp.. yikes. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Woodside, New York

"Speed All Cleaners" is now New Speed Cleaners. It's family-run, with friendly people behind the counter. When I walked in early one Saturday to see if they could do a rush sewing job for me, the owner very genuinely apologized that his seamstress wasn't in until Monday. (I had gone to 2-3 spots nearby before hitting up New Speed. Apparently NO ONE has seamstresses in on weekends.) I came back because they had been so kind that time, despite the fact that I had had no business for them. A silk blouse that cost $8 to dry clean at Woodside French (https://www.yelp.com/biz/woodside-french-cleaners-woodside) cost $4.75 here. Wool sweaters are also $4.75. All items were returned well taken care of. The location right by Woodside station is great, easy to stop by after work (or after some downtime at the numerous Irish pubs nearby). read more

This was the worst experience ever. Please do not go here. I went there to get my dresses tailored. I asked for the price and it was ridiculously expensive compare to other tailor shop right infront of this place, so i was very nicely asked if i can get 2 dollor discount. And the owner told me to get out from their shop right away. How rude is this. The owner tells customer to get out for asking 2dollor off? When i've been here a few times? It was my very first time at this business and I had such an awful experience that I know I will not be returning ever again. I was charged $12 for each jean that I needed to get hemmed which is $5 more expensive per jean than the tailor across the street. I had a long-sleeved dress that needed to be hemmed and lots of other alterations to make it sleeveless. Knowing that this would be a particularly big request, I made sure to visit the tailor a month before I would even need the dress to be finished to allow them plenty of time to work on the alterations. When I showed and explained the alterations I needed to the man (I believe he was the owner), he first says it'll be too expensive. I politely asked how much it would be since he doesn't know what my budget is and instead of answering, he responded in saying that it would take a long time to do. I explained that I was not in a rush and would like to know how much it is going to cost and how long it would take to be ready. Instead of answering, he just raised his voice and kept repeating "too expensive, too much time, I'm too busy". He continued to shout and be excessively rude to me for the rest of the 5 minutes of me being there. I later went to the tailors across the street and they said the job would only take 1 week and would cost $50 which was a bargain considering the amount of alterations I was asking for. The terrible customer service at New Speed Cleaners is absolutely unacceptable. Raising your voice at a customer multiple times for asking basic questions is completely unnecessary. It appears to me that the owner just didn't know how to do the alterations that were requested and instead of admitting so, he used other excuses to mask the fact that he's not very good at his job. I recommend Raymonds Tailor Shop for any of your alteration needs. read more

This place is very friendly and honest about what should be fixed so you don't spend extra money. Their integrity is what makes them great! They helped me fix a Hugo Boss Italian suit pants at a great price so I recommend everyone with suits to do business here. read more

Will be taking them to Small Claims Court next month (Dec. 2016) for losing or stealing a patch imported from Greece they were supposed to saw on to my jacket. *FYI, keep in mind that prior to 2010 (I'm estimating) this place was under different ownership (courteous, professional) so if you had positive experiences prior to the change but haven't been there since, things will most likely be different now. read more
