After 3 years my bill for internet was going to lose the promotion. I called customer service to ask about a new promotion. They said nothing they could do, so I went to the store to ask for a deal because my bill was going to raise 50$ just for internet up to 105$ for internet. After being 11th in line 30 minutes after they open and waiting for a hour they said nothing they can do in store and gave me the number for customer retention. I call customer retention and they also tell me nothing they can do but tell me my bill will only raise 15$ to become 70$. I inform them that the competition will give me the same service for 40$. They tell me nothing they can do. So I have the competition. Installed 2 days later then call to cancel. When I cancel they tell me now they are willing to cut me a deal down to 30$. What a joke. I cancel anyway. Now comes the return process for the equipment. Stuck in line at 13th in line to return a modem. Internet is now a utility not a luxury why do bills raise 30% a year later? read more

I stopped my service on the 20th of September which I thought my new billing cycle was the 28th I received a past due notice for Oct. I called and talked to a RUDE supervisor. He said it's on very bill they don't rate bills "it's on very bill". I said I've had your service for years! My advice, Don't go with Spectrum!!!!!!! Rude customer service! I have to pay a full month when in their words I went over one day then they changed their words I went over 5 days. Again, take it from a loyal customer of over 15 years. I waited over an hour and a half to simply return my equipment. It would've been much longer had the 8 people ahead of me not gotten tired of waiting and left. They laughingly joked they would bring me coffee back the next morning because I would still be there. You can't expect to run a store efficiently with two or three employees (who have no sense of urgency to wait on the customers whatsoever) and dozens of people waiting. You've lost so much money because you've lost so many customers so you downsize by cutting staff and punish the existing remaining customers. Not good business practice. read more

To preface this, I work in IT. I just moved from Austin to Cincinnati. I had an account with Spectrum in Austin and you'd think it would be easy to set up or move my account here. Nope. It's like you were never a customer before. Signing up and getting the service here has taken 3 days. I'm still waiting for the modem they said they sent 3 days ago. What's most frustrating is that my username (aka email address) doesn't transfer over or redirect. So your email address doesn't follow you (take note to ONLY use Spectrum emails for spam collection or as throw-away one offs). The ONLY bright spot in this ordeal is that the tech who came out was great. I hope he finds a better company to work for. AVOID if possible. read more

My father died 05/20/23 & my sister cancelled his Spectrum TV & Phone service. I offered to return the several devices that were from Spectrum. When my name was called and I approached the service desk and told the person behind the desk I was returning my father's devices, and that he had died Sat 05/20, the service representative's first words were "You Got a Death Certificate"? I answered No, I did not have a Death certificate, do I need on? Not only was it asked in a rude manner, but there was no, "gee I'm sorry to hear your father died", etc. He then took the devices, read their serial numbers and looked at his screen. My sister had cancelled the service, so there was no need for a Death Certificate after all! I just changed to altafiber last month. After that rude experience, I'll never return to Spectrum. read more

Had a lightning Bolt hit our Tree in the Front yard and it took out our Modem. Went to this store this morning and there were about 10 other people who got in line shortly after another customer and myself. Most with the same issues from the storm. There were only 2 men who started the morning and did an OUTSTANDING job helping me and the others (I'm assuming on the others) I was in and out of there with my New Router in less than 5 minutes. Would rate 0 if possible. They constantly jack up your rate to maintain crappy internet speeds. If you cancel, better make sure you do it on the last day of your billing cycle, otherwise they are going to CHARGE YOU FOR SERVICE THEY ARE NO LONGER PROVIDING. Completely unethical business. They now claim their cable is a "subscription" and when you move and cancel service 2 days into their billing cycle, you get charged for the entire month. I returned their equipment and the agent never mentioned anything about it. How can you charge me to rent equipment that I no longer have in my possession ? I was convinced to try the seven days "free" trial for TV services/cable even though I know I did not want them so after a few days and figuring out that I obviously do not want or need cable I called to cancel so I would not be billed for cable. Well I received my first bill and I was charged for cable, I called to get it all cleared up the lady on the phone was completely misunderstanding what I was trying to say but I don't need to call said she was able to get it off my bill.
