We are so disappointed in the service we receive from Spectrum and are currently looking into other options. We've already dumped the tv services and chose direct tv. We also have several add on apps we like ( Netflix, Showtime, Disney). There are many ways to get great deals on the add on services, and just need to make the break from Spectrum internet. Mainly because several times a day it will not provide the 5G service and we have to restart the modem & router. They've come several times and claim our equipment in the house, is the best they have. After many techs couldn't fix it, they actually sent the Quality assurance person who told us the truth. We're at the end of wherever their fiber network ends in our area , meaning in easiest terms, their equipment is outdated and they can't get the okay to fix it. The problem is outside and throughout my neighborhood and we, being at the end, get the leftovers of what our multi- tech neighbors are using. I'm not sure if another service provider can help. All I know is we pay only for internet and it works like the old AOL log-on. You know, where you wait and wait for service that never works consistently. I have not had a cable company in almost 25 years for a good reason since customer service was terrible. Forced to use this for cable, I bundle internet and phone to " save" money. The install tech, the 2 tech I had to talk to so the internet would finally work 6 hrs. after install, and the1 sent out to FINALLY get the dial tone going 23 hrs. after install were great. But it seems that their equipment is still stuck in the 20th century. TV boxes had to be corded to the wall. Can't find a way to just limit the guide to my favorites like with Direct TV and Uverse. I have a grad degree! Each box has DVR, but you have to set up each to record show if you want to move to another room in the middle of a show. And why isn't the Science Channel included on the middle package if you include the rest of the channels aimed at the educated??? I guess in 25 years, cable has not figured out customer service includes the equipment and technology. Is that because people like me are stuck because of the apartment complex we live in?!?! Everything you've ever hated about *any* cable company, now together in a single provider. My dad's Spectrum TV service went out in his Oakwood retirement community apartment on a Saturday morning, when the business office wasn't open to handle the problem. I spoke with no fewer than *SIX* Spectrum representatives attempting to get the problem solved. I was given 877 #s to call so I could speak to a representative handling "bulk" TV service accounts, only to call that # and be told I was speaking to someone who handled internet and phone. I was told I'd be transferred to the "right" department, only to have that department explain they couldn't handle the problem and would need to transfer me again. After 6 people were unable to solve the problem and more than an hour on the phone with Spectrum, I decided dear old Dad was going to have to go without TV until someone in the facility's business office could handle the problem on Monday morning. Their account, their problem. Instead of spending millions of dollars on a fancy rebranding and shiny, happy commercials talking about how Time Warner and Charter are now Spectrum and suddenly represent some kind of re-invented cable TV service, how about just training your call centers to properly handle simple service interruptions? People *hate* their cable company, and this infuriatingly inept kind of customer service experience is precisely why. read more

If I could give less stars I would. First , I needed to change my 30 year service to a different address. I was offered a free month of spectrum tv. I receive my bill less than a week later and have been charged for a service we haven't even been able to try the free 30. I call the solution center to have it removed and had the misfortune to be given BRANDON as my first experience. He ignored what I was asking... repeatedly... and continually tried to sell me MORE stuff. When I finally got upset and said to "stop talking over me" I was told "stop screaming in my ear, already. I'm not the idiot who dialed the wrong number." So i said, isn't this the spectrum solution center. I was told yes, and he started telling me more and more crap I should buy. I asked for a supervisor... he said "Oh, you want MY supervisor... so I said yes.... now enters GEORGE... who comes on the line and asked if I was the "idiot" who dialed the wrong number. I did get ahold of a nice women named Shawna who helped me but I will be searching for another Wi-fi company that doesn't employee people like Brandon or George when a customer needs to inquire about their bill. read more

Horrible customer service! Lazy girl sitting in a room was extremely rude telling me to wait outside and someone would come and get me. There was no sign on the door stating that and I said as much but that wasn't what she repeated to the other employee. Some boy came out and informed me that since they said I was going to throw the faulty equipment through the door they felt threatened! RIDICULOUS! If the LAZY girl had paid ATTENTION AT ALL I was stating about the lack of a sign on the door!The boy told me to call customer service (too bad he doesn't know what that means) and they can mail me a box! It's all good. I was exchanging the box for a friend which he turned around and did an hour later. I ADVISE EVERYONE TO STREAM WITH HULU, NETFLIX AND ANY OTHER SERVICE AND DUMP SPECTRUM! I had spectrum internet services for 2 years while I was attending college in Springfield. However when I returned my equipment and cancelled my services on April 30, 2019, the staff did not finish the cancellation request. I called Spectrum on May 7, because my account was charged even though I no longer live at that address and returned my equipment. I spoke to a very rude customer service agent who said that she was unable to reimburse me for the whole amount, and then when I questioned her, she began badgering me about whether or not I really returned all the equipment. Given that I had the receipt, and was now quite aggravated, I wasn't going to fight the issue. Thinking back now, I wish I would've asked to speak to her superior. read more

They advertise great deals, and then when you call to they are not able to uphold any of their deals. Every single option given to me was not even close to what the package I got offered by mail. THE most useless, unhelpful, I can't even imagine worse unless it's the post office or Walmart. God help anyone who actually does business with this company. Now on my second call in 10 minutes with Spectrum ; different rep (Nick), who said I need to speak with Billing for an account I don't and will NEVER have. (sigh) at least it's not a number he pulled out of -- where-ever. Who is, once again, putting me on hold so she can speak to her supervisor. Different person, different supervisor, same run-around. Now being sent to repair. Who is insisting on getting an account number. Which I WILL NEVER HAVE WITH SPECTRUM. 17 minutes on JUST this call; hours out of my life. Now over 25 minutes. (how big is the box? Does it say Spectrum? Box is Continental Cablevision which has devolved, been chopped up, and sold to eventually SPECTRUM in Ohio, Comcast in Pennsylvania. Don't ask how I know this) They now have to find an active account "close by my address" to do a service ticket. Huh? Please hold; back on hold, and holding again. 30+ minutes. Can't get anyone willing to give me a direct number to anywhere in case I get cut-off). Rapidly closing on 50 minutes on hold, etc; I think they are waiting for me to die and solve the pesky customer problem. They DO check back every once in a while to see if I've given up yet. Or died. either way. SO - repair is going to call me -- at the wrong telephone number (not too worry, they'll correct it. (Love is the name of this repair "agent" -- not loving ANYTHING here). I am generally pleased, overall, with my customer experiences with Spectrum. We have up-tiered cable service (without premium channels), enhanced internet (called "Turbo") and phone service. Everything usually works fine, barring the occasional, very infrequent interruptions of service due to local construction and bad weather. I had to contact Spectrum today because my set-top box/DVR failed. For the past 3 days, the cable box in the family room was in a perpetual reboot state, and even though I was able to receive signal on the bedroom televisions, the family room 55" set which is connected to a Bose surround system received no signal at all. I followed the troubleshooting instructions provided on the Spectrum website to the letter, and nothing worked. So I called tech support this morning and I got a "robo-assistant" (press "1" for this, press "2" for that). When the matter could not be resolved after pressing "1"s and "2"s, robo-assistant says, "Your call is being forwarded to a technical specialist." I sat on a dead line for over 30 minutes waiting for someone to pick up, and it never happened. So I went back to the website and saw that they offered live chat with a technical assistant. That worked out a lot better. After remotely diagnosing my problem, he recommended that I go to Spectrum and change out the set-top box. Just returned from Spectrum. He saw the cable box under my arm, and he says "Dead box, huh?" After verifying my account, he went to an adjoining room and produced another set-top for me, no questions asked. It wasn't the Samsung I used to have - this one's a Cisco, but I re-connected the cables and it booted up just fine. Had to call Spectrum to activate it afterwards, but I was back to normal in practically no time flat. To those who say that Spectrum's services are pricey after the introductory period, I would agree. I was aghast at what my wife agreed to pay for their cable/phone/internet bundle. That said, I'm running 3 TVs, 5 computers, 3 iPads, a PS-4, a Nintendo Wii and a Nintendo Switch and still, when the kids and family come over with their tablets and cell phones, there's plenty of signal for everybody. I can't wait until 900+ Mbps arrives in my town. I may just have to bite the bullet! read more

When I cancelled my internet I discovered that even though they turned the internet off with a switch, they wouldn't consider it off until someone came out to the pole, which meant I couldn't get a corrected final bill when I cancelled. This was after, when I told them on the phone I wanted to end my service, instead of telling me I had to physically drive to Springfield and tell them that at the window, they shunted me to their retention department, giving me the impression that this department was how I would shut off my service, because I was pretty clear about that be my purpose, not being retained. Since we were not going to see eye to eye I was finally told, by a rude agent (my guess is because I wasn't retainable, and both of us were grumpy by the end of the call, after I asked three times to have my service ended) that I actually had to physically drive to the office. When I did, they told me that had to schedule the switch off (why could I not do this by phone?) as described above. When I told them very specifically I wasn't going to pay an incorrect bill, and that I needed to know how I would know to pay the correct balance, the window was polite and specifically told me that I would get an incorrect bill at first and to wait for the corrected bill. They would not put this in writing. I did and finally received the corrected bill two and a half weeks later after waiting for the proper shut off and receiving two incorrect bills. I drove to the office two weeks after that (I tried a few times prior but ended up with issues getting into the building which were not Time Warner's fault). I was unhappy because I was being charged a late fee two weeks after receiving the corrected bill. Ohio, it is 30 days to pay a final bill. I told them I would pay what I owed but I would not pay the late fee, as I was not late. The lady behind the window was rude and condescending, saying it was obvious the thirty days to pay the bill started the day of disconnect. That's like saying, you owe me money for services rendered yesterday but I don't tell you how much to pay until next month, but I'm charging you a late fee for not paying an amount 30 days from when I rendered services that you didn't know because I didn't tell you. Its absurd, not intuitive as she sniped. I told her that if the late fee affected my credit, I would reserved the right to any legal remedies available to me. To which she responded "You wouldn't win." To which I responded, "Are you giving me legal advice? Are you an attorney." To which she responded that she has worked in law for years, implying she was. At which point I asked her for her attorney's license number. She went round and round saying she had worked in law and asking me if I was an attorney so I couldn't be saying what I was saying. I said that I don't have to be an attorney to complain about a business and reserve my legal rights, but if she's going to give legal advice on potential legal cases, while sitting behind the desk of a company that was different. Finally, quite unhappily she admitted she had worked in a law office but was not an attorney. At this point I was fed up and told her that I didn't come in to argue, I came in to finalize payment of my services. That I've said what I needed to say as a dissatisfied customer, and now I just wanted to end my services. She proceeded with that, ending with the remark (in a pretty nasty tone) that she had put a note on my account to prevent anyone talking with me about my account because I said I retained my legal rights. I said, now you're punishing me for protecting my rights. She said that it was not a punishiment (as she lowered her face to the window and said that in a pretty nasty tone). I said what else could it be that you're preventing anyone from talking to me about my account. She said, you said you're getting a lawyer and we don't talk to people who get lawyers. This is not actually true. This is to protect people who have lawyers so lawyers can talk to each other, not to put in the system if someone says they will protect their rights. I told her I did NOT say I was getting a lawyer. I said IF they put it on my credit, I retained all of my legal rights. Which is very different. It means I don't have counsel to talk to their counsel, but that I reserve the right to several legal choices IF that were to happen. Not all legal avenues require counsel, such as disputing credit reports, small claims court, and reporting to regulating agencies etc. So even IF they put it on my credit and IF I pursued a legal avenue then it wouldn't even mean at that point that I would be going the attorney route which is WHEN a company might make such a note. At this point, it was spite. I left, with her card. I should report her, but frankly I'm tired of the whole deal.
