I've lived at Spectrum on Spring for about a six months now and I feel like I want to give an honest review to help others in their apartment search.
Overall, this year-old mid-rise complex is simply Meh. Overpriced in a desolate midtown location, this apartment complex could be better. I was attracted to this complex only because I was new to Atlanta at the time and needed a place fast. The only perk of the neighborhood is being able to walk to Whole Foods and Arts Center Metro.
The apartments themselves are your typical modern open concept design, but I warn you they have thin walls. The floor actually shakes in my apartment when my neighbor runs their washing machine. At times, I can hear my neighbors TVs, and music. I don't really care as I host pregames as well, but I know some people just want a quiet place to relax.
The views vary from each apartment, but I actually like the views from my apartment as it looks over Midtown and the highway/Atlantic Station. There are only two elevators for six floors of residents, and no service elevator. Wait times are long per elevator so it best to take the stairs.
The community areas are actually nice. This past summer I've hung out with lot of people at pool and fire pits. I do wish the pool was deeper, as it's only 3 feet. The biggest thing this complex is missing is a rooftop lounge. The gym is pretty small but the machines are decent for a simple workout. Management is actually pretty decent, they host community events often, but will amplify loud music until the event is over.
There's a mix of residents in this community, I've encountered everyone from young professionals to families. It's hard to tell who actually lives here as some of the apartments are AirBnBs and Corporate Apartments. The leasing office says you cant rent out your apartment, but does not let anyone know of the Airbnbs they rent out. If you're not a fan of living next to Airbnbs, look elsewhere.
As for Crime, let's be honest this is Midtown not Acworth. Common sense goes a long way, like locking your doors etc... Since I've lived here we've only had about two incidents that management has told us about. There are no security cameras in the hallways, but there is a security patrol that walks around. They just installed cameras in the elevators. Homeless people do sleep in the empty lot besides the building and community dog park but they are harmless.
Overall, I think my biggest problem was location and price. I should have done my fair share of reading reviews. After living in Atlanta for a while now, I think you can find better options for the price and size. If you still want to give this place a shot, and location and price isn't really a factor, then welcome home. read more
