While inquiring about a quote for a trade-in of a paid off device and starting a new line, I was…read moresubsequently removed from my current carrier without warning. Upon entry to this location, I was greeted by a salesman. He reassured me that there would be no termination of my current service unless, I signed consent forms and completed a purchase with the company. Which I did not. Once I agreed to a potential monthly price quote, I asked about an "out-of-the-door" cost/fee. The young man then disappeared into the back "stock room/office" while on the phone with multiple service providers and didn't come back for some time. When he did return, he quoted an outrageous price that didn't even sound semi-close to the promotion I was originally inquiring about. I proceeded to tell him I wasn't interested. He did call a financing company who approved a funding/financing of $500 towards a device. He returned to the back which is when I assumed he was grabbing new devices from the "safe" like he said. Nope, he came back and said the funding didn't go through so that initial "out-of-the-door" cost was nearly $2,000 now. I was flabbergasted and demanded we end the quoting process and asked if I was free to leave. He asked me to "hang on" and assured me he'd be right back. I then checked my phone and it was in SOS mode. He magically reappeared from the back and stated that he knew my phone was in SOS but that he was also able to convince his manager to force the finance through and asked if I wanted to pay the initial high price. I demanded to stop being "sold" a product and just asked to leave for now the second time. His response was "well the system "glitched" and now your phone number is active through Verizon and I have to cancel that." I was furious internally at this point and had been there for two hours. He called my phone carrier's 1(800) number and they basically told me I'd be responsible for reinstating my service. He washed his hands of me and provided inaccurate account numbers to shut me up and send me out of the door as quickly as possible. While reassuring me that he cleared everything on Verizon's end. I actually had to make a second trip to the location two days later to obtain the proper account numbers. This is when the general manager basically excused the young man's deceitfulness and labeled the issue as something he "hadn't ever seen" happen in all thirteen years that he worked with the company. This general manager asked the young man to go grab the correct numbers which were conveniently produced. I left the store confident that the issue was completely resolved. Until I received a monthly bill for a service I never agreed to, never signed for, and didn't want. Beware! You've been warned.

Ridge rd erie pa Verizon Review: Hidden Costs, Misleading…read moreSales Practices, and Broken Trust Verizon is often criticized for being one of the more expensive wireless providers, and my personal experience confirms why. Customers already complain about hidden costs, misleading promotions, and contract penalties -- but I've experienced these issues firsthand. I originally went to a Verizon store just to have my phone serviced. I made it very clear to the salesman that I wasn't looking for another phone, since I was happy paying about $80 per month. Despite that, he pushed a so-called "great deal" on a trade-in. He assured me my bill would only increase by $10 and that I'd only have a one-time fee of $100-$200. On top of that, he upsold me on an anti-glare and liquid glass overlay product, which left my screen permanently cloudy no matter how I clean it. The real shock came when I received my bill: instead of a simple one-time payment, I discovered in small print that I now owed $924. This was never explained to me in the store. What was sold as a minor upgrade turned into a major financial burden. This is not the first time Verizon has bait-and-switched me, but it will be the last. I feel swindled, misled, and deeply disappointed. I will never trust Verizon again, and this will be my last phone with them. Bottom line: Verizon's sales tactics may look like "great deals" on the surface, but in reality, they leave loyal customers paying far more than expected. If you value honesty and transparency, think twice before signing anything with Verizon.

Long story follows: My wife and I ordered this fridge a few days ago online for our tenants, who are moving in today (Friday). As part of the online order, I selected Tuesday for a delivery date, which was confirmed. I then called Best Buy to see whether a military discount is available. (It isn't.) During the call, the woman asked me when I'd like it delivered. I told her I'd arranged for Tuesday and she told me there was no mention of that in my order. She told me that only Friday was available. Not the happiest circumstance, but Friday (today) is the drop dead date. I needed that appliance today. Friday it was to be. That night, I got a confirmation text from Best Buy that the delivery would be made SATURDAY. No good. My tenants move in Friday and I'd promised them a new fridge based upon promises Best Buy had made. I was on the phone for hours and hours with Best Buy corporate and the local store to get this fixed. Miracle of miracles, I got a text Wednesday night that the refrigerator would be delivered Thursday from 8-noon. Super! I called corporate to confirm, then called the local store the next morning to doubly confirm when they opened at 10. So far, so good. I waited at the location until about 11, then made another confirmation call. I was assured that the fridge was on the truck and that I'd be getting a call from the driver soon. Noon came and went. Three more hours came and went while I was cooling my heels. I called the local store yet again and they finally admitted that my fridge wasn't on the truck, nor was it coming until Friday. I received a call late Thursday afternoon from Nick, the delivery driver (great guy) and was informed that my appliance would be delivered Friday between 9 and 11. It was. The delivery went smoothly and the fridge seems to work well. Bottom line: most of my Wednesday was shot, spent on hold with Best Buy corporate. Most of my Thursday was shot waiting at a vacant house (much of that time on hold with Best Buy). I don't believe that I was dealt with courteously nor honestly. I never received return phone calls when I was promised them (except by Drew in appliances). When I did speak with the store or corporate, I was given innacurate information. Sure, everyone used polite language, but courtesy would have dictated keeping me in the loop with return calls relaying correct information. I would not have wasted most of two days tracking this down. If Best Buy wants to sell online, perhaps they should take a closer look at Amazon. I've never had anything but pain-free, seamless purchases from them. Oh, yeah, I should mention that no one from Best Buy has made an offer to adjust our purchase price for our trouble. My wife and I are beginning to search for three new major appliances for our kitchen at home. Let's do the math: both Home Depot and Lowes offer military discounts. I've always had good experiences with both places and when there's been any kind of a snag, they've stood on their heads to make things right. Guess where we'll start looking. My apologies for writing a novel. No apologies will be forthcoming from Best Buy.
