He was so professional and, for me, more importantly, he was so responsive and so flexible to the ever-changing and improvised nature of my wedding! We were changing plans throughout the night, delaying key moments (the bouquet toss, the speeches, etc) or adding new events (flash-mob) and he was able to respond quickly to the chaos and didn't once get annoyed. Tim and his assistant Don did everything possible to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible - acting as liaisons between us and the building manager, wait-staff and our bridal party. THEY WERE AWESOME. He also did a good job with the music making sure that the old people had there moment and the young people did as well. Even though I told him he could go home at 11:30 PM, he stayed until midnight because guests wanted to keep dancing - that's how great they were. Also, he was sooooooo nice and seemed genuinely excited for my husband and me, celebrating with us throughout the night. Tim is more than a DJ - he's an all-around manager and a key right-hand person on your wedding day. I recommend him 100%! I was freaking out because my plans for lighting did NOT pan out with only days to find some other…read moreplan. I emailed/called a bunch of place in the metro Detroit area. Rob, one of the owners of EEG, called me without hesitation or reservation. He didn't make me feel like an idiot for calling 2 days before my wedding. He just assessed what I wanted, made sure they had the lighting to do so, gave me a quote and set it all up the day of the wedding. I received TONS of compliments with how beautiful the room looked and the amazing lighting and decor. My wedding theme was more romantic, with lots of votive candles, but the one thing I wanted more than anything (as far as wedding decor) were bistro lighting over the dance floor to look like my husband and I were dancing underneath the stars. He was also able to add the sheer cloth with stringed lights for our the back of our headtable... which really made a difference in the room! First of all, not that many lighting vendors even can do that. Second, EEG was the only vendor who attended to me with such short notice. When I talked to Rob and asked how he was able to do it, he simply told me EEG loves to do weddings and was excited for this challenge. They truly made my dream wedding come true. Rob is amazing to work with! He and the rest of the EEG staff are so amazing and very diligent workers. He told me he had 6 other weddings to set-up and tear down, but it did not interfere with the amazing work they put up for us. Hands down, one of the best vendors I've worked with!! And I truly recommend the Encore Event Group for all your lighting, decor and sound needs!!

Luckily decor was much better when we reached our party room destination. Travelling apps were not terribly impressive but still tastyish. The bacon wrapped chicken on a skewer was ginormous. Awkward to eat. Tasted the best of the three though. The crabcakes were miniscule and mostly breading. My husband seemed unimpressed with the shrimp. The salads were simply dressed with no option but with what I guess could be called vinaigrette if I were being generous. The rolls were very grainy and not my thing. My salmon would have been terrific if it had been fresh. It was a huge portion but cold and the sauce had congealed. I liked the roasted potatoes and the veggies but again, cold. My husbands sliced steak concoction was at least warm and it was super tender. It was also well beyond a generous portion. He disliked the sauce though. The bar staff did well. We avoided the pitchers of flat beer and bad merlot, which helped. The mixed drinks were stellar. My Tito's and soda with a wee splash of cran and a lime were perfect. My husbands tequila and pineapple was also delish. Dessert was as good as the alcohol. Fantastic apple spice cake with cream cheese and caramel and a creamy chocolate pie. Yum. It was just typical wedding to me. I would never choose it myself.

When I followed up to ask about payment for the performance I'd done, I was told "we're out of checks, so it'll be a few weeks". A supposedly professional and operational company being out of checks? That struck me as odd. After weeks of my chasing via phone calls and emails, I never, ever heard back from them. Very shady, untrustworthy business and I would not recommend entering into contracts with them. I've recently learned from my music colleagues that I'm not alone this experience, unfortunately.
