I canceled my service with Spectrum and returned my modem. I have USPS proof of return AND an email from Spectrum confirming they received it. Despite already confirming receipt in writing, Spectrum continued to claim the equipment was not returned and refused to correct their records. Even worse, they refused to resolve the issue in writing, insisting on phone calls instead -- even though this is a simple correction on a closed account and already documented. I have now made four attempts to fix their error, provided all proof multiple times, and still have not received written confirmation that my account reflects a $0 balance. This should have been resolved immediately after they confirmed receipt. Instead, I had to file complaints with the BBB, FCC, and Ohio Attorney General. Because of this experience, I will not do business with Spectrum again. With 5G home internet providers and other alternatives widely available, there is no reason for customers to tolerate this kind of treatment. Completely unacceptable. read more

First off, I never write reviews unless the service is amazing or absolutely terrible as I just don't have the time. I cannot believe Spectrum's business practices, and besides myself, not only was I lied to by one of their agents, but nobody there was willing to help. I canceled my internet service one day after my bill was cut for THE UPCOMING MONTH and was told by the agent who handled my cancellation that my bill would be adjusted and I would not have to pay or I would only pay for one day of internet. This is something I specifically asked about before disconnection as I am a huge budgeter - my Spectrum internet was $100 per month (I won't even talk about the $180 I pay for basic cable with no bells and whistles - that I am canceling at end of the billing cycle) I just got off the phone with another agent and the billing department, and they told me that the records show I no longer have internet service, and it was disconnected the day after invoicing, but I still have to pay for the full month even though I have no access to the service. The billing department even acknowledged that the agent who handled my cancellation should have backdated my disconnect by one day to avoid the full month's billing since they do not pro-rate bills, but he did not do that. Still, she was not willing to help me and was giving me a little attitude and her resolution was to say - we can turn your service back on until the end of the billing cycle. Because of that, one agent's misinformation and not doing what he said I am having to pay for two internet providers for the month with Spectrum's being almost double the cost of my new provider. I feel that Spectrum, as a business truly does not care about the customer and is just out to make as much money as possible off of them, even if it is not in the best interest of their customer. read more

I returned equipment one day past the billing cycle and am being charged $98 for an entire month of service that I don't have! Spectrum won't pro-rate so I would only owe $3.26... I will never use Spectrum again & I will never recommend Spectrum to anyone! read more

Worst customer service, ever. You have to wait, wait, wait behind ten other customers, at their service "store". Had a horrible time trying to exchange a blown cable modem for my elderly mother. Took me TWO trips to the store, and about two hours for a five minute job. They treated me like I was some kind of criminal, trying to "steal" a stupid cable modem. Clerks were rude and argumentative. Then I called the corporate office to complain. The operator there was argumentative, as well! Always buffering off and on. Had a tech out here 5 months ago. Between internet (which sucks) and streaming cable app our bill is $178.00 a month. We are planning on switching internet and streaming providers. For 10 yrs here in Canton Ohio I've heard bad things and now I'm an experienced consumer who has gotten bent over as well. Most unreliable Internet for Hyde park in green out there. For my mother, I'd prefer Jimmy Bob Tom's emporium of strange & random things to Spectrum because at least then my expectations would be lower and I'd have some entertainment along with the consistent internet outrages. Good thing is She can switch back to ATT now that they are switching to fiber here. 80$ month supposed to get 200 mbps.. never do Hate them but no other options... If you have a choice... RUN techs have been out multiple times... today is better speed then usual.. speed test in pics.. their test and then fast.com Today I called and talked to JR. he was helpful and then I found out that we have their lowest speed of 200mbps from supervisor Guido (identifier 562-6085) whom had a wonderful suggestion of buying a wireless router to save 5$ a month.. this company thinks that's the best solution is to sell us inferior service and then have supervisors, like Guido, tell us how great his own home wireless router works that he had to pay for and is NOT a Spectrum router. Spectrum enjoys charging us 5$ a month for their wireless and then their employees tell us we shouldn't use the company's service? Guido-- a managers solution for our family couldn't possibly be kinder? Something like, "wow, you guys have had some pretty bad service and had to spend a lot of time with techs and on the phone... for the inconvenience I'd love to offer you a small discount since our company didn't provide as promised"... HAHAHA that is customer service from yesteryears... TODAYS SOLUTION.... DONT USE OUR ROUTER BUT GO BUY YOUR OWN AS IT WILL WORK BETTER.... what a motto! Great suggestion to go buy a router when our internet is so slow..... sure spend 100$ so we can save.. NO OFFERS for horrible service for 18 months... no real apologies except from JR THE tech that assisted us. Awful! I called after 8 years to get a better deal. They were advertising rates for internet service at twice the speed for half the price I was paying. They refused even after I threatened to cancel stating that I have no other choice. I actually felt like the agent was being condescending and disrespectful. Fortunately, Verizon is offering 5G Ultra in my area so I switched! Now I get 900Mbps for $25/mo. That beats the 300Mbps and $100/mo that I was getting from Spectrump. read more

This place is a joke. There are at least 15-20 people waiting and 4 customer service people. One just disappeared for 15 minutes and another figured it was a good time to stock the cabinets. Place is always busy and understaffed, long waits and it never gets better. Payment kiosk doesn't always work so you spend ridiculous amounts of time waiting but worse is you never know when it won't work...... Have not had much better luck with online support either. read more

My elderly mother has had incredible problems since Spectrum took over. After numerous service calls and phone calls and visits from concerned relatives the cable continues to spontaneously stop fir no reason. Wish 0 stars was an option. The internet service is terrible at best. Had to go to the store three times to get my login set up and was talked to like an idiot every time. Turned out they forgot to get my address. Then they forgot to save it properly. Finally they forgot to get my telephone number. I love driving 20 min each way because they forgot! Ridiculous wait time every visit. Today no exception. I was greeted at door and immediately told 40-45 minute wait. I did an about face and left. This is a complete joke and a negative reflection on Spectrum chain of command. This wasn't like this previously in the TWC days. There is no excuse for this nonsense. I've been a long time customer with them. As their prices keep going up, everytime I check my bill. I just got off the phone with Summer stating that we couldn't afford their rates and she offered if we stayed with the whole package to reduce by whooping $24 and change. I mean are you for real. Customer service lied to us when we canceled our service in dec. Said to keep the equipment until the end of the "month", not billing cycle which was 3 days from this call. Charged us for another full month's of service, a 117.00 dollar difference. Told us only to take back the box. Got to the store and they wanted the box, remote and cords too. Good thing we took them anyway cause they would have got us for another month of service. Refused to credit us after their customer service department lied twice. Says the record the calls, but that's not true, if so they would have known they were WRONG! My father lives on social security and is 80 yrs old. OK, I am currently using the TWCL (Legacy) service from Spectrum. I wanted to receive some channels not on TWCL, so I called customer service. If i could give negative stars, I would. I hate spectrum with a passion. When I lived in Florida and they were bright house they still sucked. Their technicians are incompetent. They came out and set up my neighbors cable and completely disconnected our cable and internet...then when I call, they can't send anyone out until "tomorrow"(which is now today) , between 5 and 6pm...it's now 730pm. No technician called, nor showed up and they escalated the ticket AGAIN,when I called customer service, for a call back in an hour and now we have to wait until tomorrow for someone to come fix it, that is if they even show up. Seems notorious for just doing whatever they want and not getting their job done. Sucks that spectrum is taking over the cable companies in mass. They have shoddy customer service, they are over priced and could care less if the customers are happy or not. Everyone that can't get dish or direct tv are screwed with Spectrum. Trust me, if I had another option, I would take it. This has been the worst service I've ever had in 20 years, we've been with multiple companies over the years and spectrum is by far the worst . My review is NOT about the location but about the company. In sales there are ways to present things to sell more features and benefits. Spectrum uses this feature to a complete negative. The sell TV, Internet, & phone service as a "package" when the truth is the three items get a discount if you put them together. However, when you ask to have something removed, like the phone service, you are told it's a package. Fact of the matter is if it was in fact a "package" it wouldn't be itemized on you statement, for example, I received a letter from spectrum stating my promotional discounted rate is coming to an end. And that "Beginning with your next statement, your new monthly rate will be approximately $$92.82 for spectrum TV, $54.99 for spectrum internet, and $19.99 for spectrum voice, plus applicable taxes and fees." now if that's how they are broke down, should they be optional? A logical mind would say yes. But if you call to have the phone removed you can't because it's a "package". If it's a package the price would be $167.80 plus applicable taxes and fees but it's not. It's not sold as that, it's not advertised as that, it's not spoken to in that way. They are choices, options, to a package. Then if you try to remove the phone service when you would think you are lowering your bill $20 you are in fact raising $10. All in all. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen and I look forward to that day. read more

Time warner may be the worst cable company ever. I will be canceling tomorrow. There boxes, remotes, etc NEVER work after spend over $100 a month for the service.
