I had to sleep with earplugs because the AC/heat system was so loud and ran all the time. The sound was constant and could be heard in the living room and bedroom. Also, I had to sleep on the floor my first night, because the leasing office mistakenly said my furniture could be delivered to the package room before I moved in. I am a Spectra resident and have been for over two years. For me the things I look for in the place that I live are: cleanliness, prompt response from management to maintenance concerns, a place to work out, location to downtown, pet friendly, and general upkeep of the building. Spectra has provided all of the above for me. Extra perks are resident events, a sense of community, and their timeliness to any of my concerns. The only star is for the location. I loved the location. Also we are on Lewis St which is completely separate from the main building and gives a house look instead of hotel outlook which we loved. 1. Management is horrible. They are rude, not at all helpful and all their conversations are demanding and never helpful. I had a horrible experience at Spectra Boutique in Constitution Plaza and never wanted to talk to them again but when my boyfriend asked me to move in with him, i had to be with the same leasing management. We took the apartment for my boyfriend in Lewis St when the building was under Trumbull. Maria was a doll, she was so sweet and helpful that we took the apartment. Then the management changed to Trio (Spectra) whatever.. and they are the worst i had come across in my 9 years in Connecticut. If you dont want to be targeted and want a peaceful life, go to 777 or even 250 Main St or anywhere else but under this management. The other worse thing about the management is their communication. Not only they are rude, they never do anything to resolve issues, they will just keep sending mail back and forth. And when they dont have answers they just refuse to answer. I asked them why dont we get same safety and convenience if we have to face inconvenience for their rules, they just said "Our stance remains the same". Thats not answer to why dont you provide same convenience for all if you want all to follow the same rules. You would think that they will be happy to work with you to see options but all they do is send back and forth rude emails. 2. We have two bikes which Trumbul management sad we can keep inside the building in the corner which is not a hallway nor an exit. Suddenly after 1.5 years this management had an issue with that and sent rude emails. When we pointed out that its not a fire hazard and if they can work out with us, they said it will be hazard if everyone wants to keep things outside!!!! a. Thats a hypothetical situation b. Lewis St building is separate from Tower building c. No one had any issues in 1.5 years d. Your management had no issues till now. Anyways I am tired of being targeted and bullied like this. We requested them to work with us but they said they follow same fair housing rules for all. This really pissed me off because fair housing rules is for providing housing. We dont get the same safety and convenience as the main buildng, so why cant we get a compromise on a corner which is not a hazard and no one is using. 3. Management just wants money and nothing else. They will charge you for whatever you can so you always have to be in fear. I rather want to be under a management who makes me feel end of the day I am going home, not someone else's house. I thought thats why we pay rent. 4. No lights in-front of the building, so nights are little scary. 5. Garage is run by LAZ which is another horrible company. They allow people to park in whatever way they want creating blind spots, they put up reserve spots whenever they want. I have tendinitis which makes it climbing stairs very difficult. I asked them the reason for putting up reserved signs and they say they own it, so they can do whatever they want. I am not surprised. Trio management found their match in horrible garage management. You ask for anything they just point to each other. 6. Garage door is broken for a month now, so you have to walk a little to get in. Again scary as i leave before sunrise and its downtown and dark corners, so be careful. I would say if you dont have anything and just need a roof to lie near your office, go for it. If you want a home and peace, run... so much mental pressure living like this... you can have friendly solutions and a happy living with people who are friendly... read more

Apartment was really nice and great location. Right across the street from Bushnell Park and within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants. I lived there for a year and had no problem with parking in the garage either. However, the leasing office staff are not that great or helpful. A lot of the interactions we had with them were disappointing. They are rude and very unhelpful. They often did not respond to emails, and when they did they were arrogant. For example, we had questions about the move out process and explained our situation. They lacked empathy and did not provide much guidance. We were also handed the wrong keys when we moved in. It's a shame management is so horrible because the apartment was great. read more

For the past 3 years, I've been a very pleased resident of Trumbull on the Park! Prior to selecting this apartment building as my home, I did a lot of research and visited most available apartments in the area. Trumbull on the Park became my top choice for many reasons; the beautiful updated apartments, prime downtown location, amazing restaurants, and neighborhood area. However the cost to value ratio offered in the building was what sealed the deal; luxury at a reasonable price in a secure environment with connected garage parking (for those rainy and snowy days!)! I wanted a place where as a single young woman I could feel safe walking my dog, have a short walk to work, and experience the renaissance currently occurring in downtown Hartford! One of the best parts about this downtown community is its service and amazing management! They treat you as more than a resident, more like extended family! I mean everyone knows you by first name! I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved immediately or within a reasonable period. The building offers concierges that always go above and beyond and they have the best handy man I've ever encountered in a rental property! Management has always been extremely accommodating and responsive to my needs! Honestly Trumbull on the Park offers the best cost to value ratio in the area, great updated units, but most importantly impeccable service and management! read more

This is a beautiful, safe, bright, quiet and modern apartment complex. The lobby has a large TV and a seating area. Two large escalators are available. The staff at the renting office is awesome. The covered parking is under video-surveillance. It is great not to have to dig your car in the snow during the winter. They have some carts to conveniently move your belongings from the parking to the apartments. It is conveniently located near the awesome Feng Sushi restaurant. read more

In total agreement with Supura B's review below, I found the management experience to be exceptionally disappointing and a hinderance to the ability to enjoy the property on Lewis Street where I lived. While the location is nice and placed me in good contact for school and employment, this is not enough to overcome the poor communication and serious management problems which ruin the unit and the living experience. 1. Management is non-responsive, rude, and difficult to get answers from. When I first expressed an interest in February for renewing my lease (before the worst of my problems below), I sent an email to the leasing office and two senior staff members. No response. Then another email two weeks later. No response. Then another. No response. Finally, I walked over to the leasing office and had my question answered and was told I would get an email with new lease terms. No response again and no new lease terms necessitated another formal letter in April and an email. Still no response even though I asked for confirmation. Finally in May, a week before the lease was due, I was asked to extend the lease. When I expressed this frustration in letters and via email, I was offered a "courtesy waiver" of the amenities fee. Residents were, also, never compensated with a credit for the amenities fee despite the fact that access was restricted during the entirety of the pandemic. The inability of management to respond to emails with any sort of urgency or interest was stunning, especially when two employees and the leasing office were all copied. When employees do respond, they are often snippy and discourteous. 2. Management's emails about important issues are inconsistent and frequently do not arrive in your inbox. When I complained about a lack of response, I was told that I "should have gotten an email" or was informed that "an email was sent." Despite checking spam, trash, approving Spectra's emails, and ensuring that my email on their Active Building system and other lists was in fact spelled correctly, I still did not receive many emails. Apparently that is my fault. I missed emails about "surprise inspections" from contractors, who arrived at 8:30 in the morning and demanded entry. And, once, I was awoken at 1:35 A.M. on a Tuesday morning because the restaurant, Salute, on the ground floor of Spectra, was cleaning their vents and didn't want to close to conduct their work at a more reasonable hour. The noise was so loud (sounded like an 18-wheeler running its engine) and made it impossible to sleep until well past 3:00 A.M. It got so bad that I had to call the Hartford Police Department and file a noise complaint to get some relief. When I later complained to the manager at Salute, I was told that Spectra was supposed to notify residents several times of this intrusion. There were no emails sent out and I remained without any notice of this inconvenient and intrusive action in the middle of the night. 3. Utility and unit issues. Within two days of being in the unit, I found issues including a broken garbage disposal despite the fact that the unit had been "walked through" and utilities allegedly checked by management prior to occupancy. To fix the garbage disposal, it took an angry email to management to finally get the issue fixed after a repair request sat in the "queue" of the maintenance team for several days. The hot water didn't work and, again, it took several hours to get the issue resolved. I also found that the washing machine and dryer were inordinately loud and later had issues with the toilet which, again, took several days to resolve. The lock on the door physically fell out within just two weeks of normal use, posing a security risk and making entry to the unit difficult. It took multiple calls to the emergency maintenance line to finally reach somebody to repair the lock. For a newly restored building at almost $1,600 a month and a "dedicated maintenance team" who operates regularly, I would have expected far better service and care. 4. The package room is a mess and packages were often not delivered to my door as promised. Even when I went to search for packages, the back log was enormous and the mountains of packages to sift through made it impossible to find items that belonged to you. On several occasions, packages were lost and, even after calls to the company's that shipped them and pictures confirming delivery at the package room, they could not be found. I had to file lost package claims for several items of value because of the inefficient and inattentive package delivery system. For those reasons and because of serious issues with the management here, I would strongly urge against renting from Spectra on the Park. You would be better off looking for a unit rented by an individual or a different company with a greater commitment to resident care and prompt, attentive customer service. read more

Regrets... I've had a few! Initially rented under Trumbull in the Park... excellent, personalized & friendly service & staff. Responsive, professional, curious & bent over backwards to ensure your safety, wellbeing & lux apartment-experience in downtown Hartford.... after 9 months the building has sold becoming "Spectra on the Park"... our full time custodian,Gloria, who cleaned every inch of the common area even the glass doors daily... while taking time out to fawn over all the dogs tracking in muddy footprints onto her freshly scrubbed floors...GONE! Our full time concierge,William, who ran to open & hold the front double doors, washed down the front sidewalks of butts & debris left by patrons of the restaurant on the street, planted & watered the lush potted plantings, offered to assist with packages, mail, deliveries and reservations for dinner while accepting outgoing dry cleaning ... GONE! our evening concierge, Shondell, who had the brightest smile and most positive outlook ever always offered a hand & a hug... GONE! Our beautiful lobby complete with mid-century furniture & appointments and a giant TV for residents to gather in, chat, relax or await pick ups & deliveries... GONE! Our new management has "elected" to remove our oversized carts stored in the adjacent parking garage .... so vital and functional for residents & commercial tenants to cart belongings, groceries & shopping, weekend away suitcases, camping and vacation trip gear, and dogs from the parking garage through locked doors and two sets of elevators up to residences... GONE! Now the building has become dirty with broken glass and trash in the recycling areas... weeks at a time... until a call for service is placed. Now the building is undergoing "renovations"... but to turn our lux lobby & resident common area into a rental office and hang out for the rent-a-cops that change nightly. The savings of having the rental agent serve double duty as a security officer while the doorman & concierge positions are eliminated do not go in-noticed. Riding in the elevators fellow residents whisper that the new owners/managers should be contacted and made aware of the declining duality of life st 100 Trumbull Street.... I'm quite certain they are fully aware of their strategy to squeeze every dime of profit possible while supplanting respect for the lux apartment downtown dwellers' safety & wellbeing with a parade of rent-a-cops who look and act as if they've never passed a background check or drug test coupled with never-ending notices and apartment inspections while impressing upon residences how very much they are doing to "Renovate" the building. Oh how we long for Maria, William, Gloria & Shondell who made Service with a smile and cleanliness close to Godliness look effortless. Regrets.... we will be moving at the end of our term. read more

Great Apartment all around. I've lived in over 8 apartments in the last 14 years across the country and I'd have to say this one has been the best one and my favorite so far. I've been here for 4 years and I'm sad to be leaving as I am relocating for a new job. I would and already have recommended this place to my friends. Here's a few general comments that I feel are relevant when I'm looking for a place (as I'm doing right now with my relo) Noise: Not an issue at all. Most places will tell you that noise isn't a problem especially from the unit above you but with the concrete construction, this is absolutely true. This has been the best apartment regarding noise that I've lived in. Location & Environment: Absolutley perfect. Restaurants and bars are close by (even one in the building). The park is right across the street. As for the building in general, I looked at many places when moving to Harford and TOTP was the best fit for me as a young professional. It wasn't too stuffy, and it wasn't a college dorm like some of the other places I looked at. The other tennants are friendly and courteous. Parking: Always available and very safe. My only pet peeve is that on the rare occasion I'm coming in after hours, you have to exit your vehicle and scan your card to lift the security gate. Staff: The maintenance folks are responsive, the building management and owners are great and always willing to help out. The daytime concierge even helped me move between units within the building. I moved here from Boston and they also helped me adjust to this new city. The building management organizes some social events which helps tennants get to know each other. Anyway, I can't say enough about my time here. They've set a high bar for my next apartment. read more

I've lived in Trumbull on the Park for almost two years and I cannot imagine renting in any other apartment downtown. The staff is friendly, helpful and knows every resident by name. The apartments are styled traditionally with beautiful picture windows. Every guest to my apartment comments on the amazing views of the park and capitol building. The apartments themselves are in great shape, and only a few things have required me to call maintenance. Every time, Rich is at my apartment within an hour or so to fix the problem. There is security at nights and on the weekends, which makes me--a single girl living downtown--feel safe and secure in the building at all times. The parking garage always has open spots, and they are conveniently wider than most spaces in a downtown garage. I have a lot of friends and colleagues who live in the other downtown buildings and I can confidently say that Trumbull on the Park has the best one-on-one service and the friendliest staff. The rent is comparable to, or less than, other buildings in the area, but the services and quality of life offered at Trumbull on the Park is the most significant value. read more
