I went here to get my handlebars swapped out. I was helped by Aaron, who was really attentive and did his best to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. He was able to get the job done on the same day, which was a pleasant surprise. He did a great job and even went the extra mile to give my bike a safety check and a quick inspection to see if there were any parts/components that needed servicing. I appreciated his thoroughness and the fact that he didn't try to sell me any unnecessary parts or services. The shop itself is beautiful. They seem to be a Specialized factory store, since they only carried Specialized products. This wasn't a bad thing, though, because they had pretty much anything you're looking for from Specialized. They also have those Retul fitting machines to get your fit dialed in. The crew there were friendly and not pushy at all. No one tried to upsell me or push me to buy the most expensive items in the shop. I appreciate that. They seem like a bunch of honest folks who just love cycling and are happy to help customers enjoy cycling as much as they do. read more

Worst service ever. I went in spent an hour looking at options. Finally told me a bike was in stock and someone would call me in a day so I can come in and buy it and get fitted. Never got a call. Call them and they say we don't have a fitter. I asked does that mean I can't buy the bike and he says yes. That's it. Total clown show. Do no waste your time. read more

Went in for a brake caliper part and they did not have it in stock but I asked the gentleman in the service department if he had some leftovers used parts and found what I needed. Sadly my second experience here wasn't so great. On my first visit I dropped off one of my wheels for a warranty replacement through roval. Upon pickup, they wanted to charge me $30 for doing a tubeless setup on it. I explained to them that I didn't ask for nor authorized that additional work to be done. Their logic was "If we don't do it, usually people will ask why we didn't do it." and also "You should just assume we would do it." Maybe it would be easier to simply ask your customer before doing additional service work? I'm also not a bike mechanic, so I don't know why I would assume any work would be done with my authorization. I ended up having to pay for the materials used to get my wheel, but thankfully a simple chargeback through American Express took care of that issue. read more

Definitely not the experience I was expecting from this store. They seem to be understaffed in their service department causing them to have most all their eMTBs still in boxes, staff lacked knowledge of their eMTB product line. I will purchase a bike elsewhere. read more

This shop exemplifies everything that is wrong with the bike industry, customers included. 0% financing crew are you not able to make it up the hill? ; this place is for you! I went in 4 months ago to buy a qr skewer, they were completely puzzled and had an attitude... "Bikes don't use skewers anymore, we only have thru axles" ok fair but any decent shop would have a few on hand.. Today I got to the trailhead and realized I lost my thru axle, I figured they would have one. I ask the greeter if they had boost thru axles he was completely puzzle. We are talking about a thru axle here its a part that is on EVERY bike. So I get walked back to the service department where the customer in front is having a conversation about handlebars too low on his ebike, they offer him a 1 degree stem change saying that it would change the handlebar height by 1 inch(completely innacurate, we are talking millimiters if we want to get technical here), its clear that the customers seat and general body positioning is off, of course they make no mention of that I wait another 5 minutes for the customer to ask about touch up paint or a new decal, at this moment I knew I should have just gone online... So finally I ask if they have 110 x 15 Boost thru axle... The conversation went like this: "Is this for a levo?" No, its just a standard front wheel boost thru axle "Epic, road bike, what bike, what shock?" Fox performance elite 36, but its just a standard boost thru axle He looked incredibly puzzled like he had never heard of fox suspension and replied "We don't have that we have to order it" If I had looked at the specialized product offerings I might be able to say "oh its for a stumpjumper" there is a slight chance I would have walked out with the thru axle. This is incompetence at the highest level, not knowing a incredibly standard thru axle size and getting defensive and or not finding someone else when asked. This is a part that EVERY bike needs, there are only a handful of standards now you should have it in stock. read more

They have no idea what is going on. It appears that this shop is in the process of switching over to a Specialized store; hopefully they figure out how to fix this mess. Do not assume that anyone you speak to on the phone from this store has any idea what is going on and do not rely on even basic information. Insist you speak to a Manager; maybe at least then you'll have someone who can be held accountable. I called them this morning to confirm that they had a bike in stock like Specialized's website showed. They explained that it was a different color but the right size. I called them back later today to confirm that it was still in stock and explained that I live in Orange County and decided to buy it / wanted to pick it up today; they said that I was "good to go" and that they close at 4pm. When I got there, an hour later, the person who greeted me explained that the bike I wanted was not built up yet and that it would probably take them a couple days to build it. They had a black one built, which was the color that showed as in stock on their website this morning and was a preferable color, but explained that was for another customer who placed a deposit. The employee who assisted me gave me his card, apologized and explained that they have a number of new people there who don't know what's going on...clearly... They asked for my contact information...I declined... I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars at this shop, I'll give my business to a shop I know and trust and will wait if I have to. As a long-time cyclist in LA, I have noticed that everyone has a different 'favorite' bike shop and everyone has an equally scary horror bike experience. Fortunately, for me, my horror story led to my new favorite bike store. I was riding my new e-bike when it broke down. And when a 75 pound bike breaks down, you got big problems! The manufacturer recommended I talk to the service department at Specialized Santa Monica. I called Marcos and explained that I had no way to get my bike to the store; and he offered to come out and pick it up. He spoke with the manufacturer who agreed to cover all of the costs of repair...and the transport costs, as well. Although it took several attempts to fix the bike electrical system, Marcos offered to bring it back to me (to see if the problem was resolved) and if it wasn't, to lend me a bike until I was completely satisfied. Long story short, the manufacturer couldn't isolate the problem and agreed to give me a brand-new bike. Marcos delivered the new bike to my home and personally fitted to to me. I could not have asked for better service! read more

This is still -BY FAR- the best bike shop in LA. Not only is the crew nice they are so knowledgeable. Even when they are super busy, the are patient and really listen to my needs. I never feel rushed or unimportant. Brandon is the best. Always greets me with a smile and makes sure I get what I need. I've never written a review for anywhere before, but had a truly horrific experience with the Cynergy service department - it's hands down the worst customer service I've ever experienced at any business, ever. For additional context, I understand the bike industry very well; I worked at a high-end bike shop in Boulder, CO during all of college and I also worked and wrote for VeloNews for a year during college. My terrible Cynergy Cycles experience: I brought my bike in at the beginning of September and ~18 days later I came in to see what the status was since I hadn't heard anything. I was told some parts needed to be replaced, which was fine and was expected. I hadn't really heard anything and no responses to my texts back to the service department. About 3.5 weeks later (today), I stopped by again. I learned that the parts hadn't been sent yet to the shop yet (so I assume not ordered yet), so I requested that I just take my bike and go elsewhere. I was told there would ~$180 charge. I expected to pay something, but asked for a discount since my bike had been sitting there for almost 6 weeks with no progress. I politely said my reason for the request was bad service... and the person in the service department had a mini-tantrum when I asked this. He told me that the problem was that my bike was hard to work on and some other stuff - basically shaming me for my purchase. I politely said his super rude response was an example of the bad service I received. When I said this, he rather aggressively told me to leave the shop and said that he would put a note to not have the shop ever work with me again; which I'm assuming is just made up... but is also wild since I was about to purchase both an S-Works Shiv and S-Works SL7 at Cynergy when my bike was completed. I was just asking for a small discount on my failed attempt to get service, because 6 weeks with no progress, no updates from the shop, and what-not is truly just bad service. I don't think it was unreasonable and I was very polite - the person in the service department just flipped out. Anyways, I'd love to pay your shop for some of the service still because I want to make sure I support local businesses. If someone from the shop reads this, please reach out - I just feel rather uncomfortable going back. I ended up driving to Serious Cycling in Agoura right I got my bike and they called Specialized while I was there, and my replacement part was shipped out today already. They were also stoked to be working on a slightly more complicated bike (S-Works Venge ViAS rim brake). I was referred to this shop by another as the bike I ride has an issue with the seatpost slipping. Riding a Specialized Venge Vias Disc and this being a Specialized specific shop it was good fit. I had the extreme pleasure of being helped by David. He listened, asked appropriate questions, treated me and the issues with respect and the professionalism. The issues has been solved. This is my new go to shop even though I live in deep Hollywood. The most important item I want to stress is David treated me no different had I been a pro rider or my first bike ever. This is one of the best shops in L.A. for the quality of their bikes, but more importantly for the quality of their service. Yesterday, I dropped my bike off for service at 10 AM hoping (unrealistically) that they could get it repaired by that evening. When I returned at 6:45 PM (15 minutes before closing) the bike was not done (which was completely understandable), but Matt quickly jumped in and did the repairs while I waited; finishing up 10 minutes past closing time. Although I have lived in LA for a long time and am an avid cyclist I am new to Cynergy. However I recently purchased a Specialized e-bike at Cynergy for my wife. Both the bike and the service at Cynergy have been superb. The bike is amazing-- we both use it-- and we can't believe we waited this long to buy one. Specialized is clearly committed to being the leading e-bike company. It shows in their product which is a dream to ride. The staff at Cynergy in both the sales and service departments have consistently been excellent-- professional, friendly, and ardent bike enthusiasts. There are a few dozen bike shops in Santa Monica & West LA, but this is my favorite bike shop in the area. The Cynergy cycle sells the "Specialized" brand bikes and gears. "Specialized" is an American brand that supplies the top professional cycling teams like Tinkoff-Saxo, Astana & Etixx-quick step. In my (biased) opinion, It is one of the best bike brands out there, with the cleanest looking designs & the top notch technology. I own 3 Specialized bikes. The shop sells commuter and kids bikes, in $500 range, good road and mountain bikes starting around $1000, all the way up to the pro level S-works bikes in $10000 range. My experiences with the sales and the service people have been excellent. The sales guys (Patrick, Ben, Alan and others) have patiently help me test-drive and select the best bike for my needs & my budget. They are super friendly and knowledgable. After my recent bike purchase, Willie worked with me over an hour to get the bike fit just right, to have the best riding experience possible. The service guys have been very responsive & reliable. When I bent the rear gear bracket from a minor crash, they fixed it overnight & they cleaned the drive train for me for no charge! Cynergy cycle hosts group rides on Wednesday nights & Sunday mornings 8am, starting in their parking lot. They also host occasional demo event where you can try out new bikes and gears. I recommend them highly as one of the best bike shops in the Westside. read more

Over the past six months I've purchased 4 bikes and accessories from Specialized. I've gotten great service; Michal especially has been super responsive, and while bikes have been hard to get I've been able to order them without any hassle, even if I've had to wait. I've brought in my mountain bike for a number of repairs; in almost all cases the problem has been fixed within an hour or two. Aaron and Angel especially have been super helpful; this morning Angel replaced a derailleur part but also noticed a problem with the chain, and now the bike is riding better than ever. read more

Staff often looked frustrated when selling shoes or clothes.. they only want to sell their expensive bikes and lack interest and look to other customers if they are looking at bikes. Also, I've been in three different times to find shoes.. and each time, they are out of my and my friends size. The shop looked surprisingly empty when I went in yesterday..
