After basically being neglected during the first few sessions, the Therapist spent a few personal minutes with me during most of the remaining sessions. She was nice, but (because of the workload?) really unable to concentrate on individual patients. In the beginning I spent a fair of time just sitting waiting for somebody to notice me. One thing that is good is the ability to load the recommended exercises on your phone for home use. At some point I even got tired of just waiting and used my phone to do the exercises during my physical therapy session at the facility. Why did I have to go there in the first place? For my particular case, this Physical Therapy treatment had no positive results, no improvements. To be fair, at the end the Therapist did recommend that I talk to my physician again, possibly for a different diagnosis. In summary, I would strongly recommend potential customers to explore also other facilties first and compare their approaches with the one of California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy.

My evaluation went as the following: I was ecstatically greeted by Doug (the owner) who empathized with my injuries and was determined to do everything in his power to get me back in the game. Out of over 20+ physical therapists that I have seen, Doug is by far the most positive, sympathetic, and passionate, who knew exactly what to do to get me better. He first took my vitals, analyzed my running gait using some form of movement capture, measured my pressure on force plates, evaluated my strength using some expensive contraption, and had me perform several dynamic movements. After this, Doug provided me with some customized programming and actively checked on me to ensure I was making progress. 2 months later, and my back & knee pain are non-existent. I tried braces and some homeopathic treatments but nothing was really helping. Doug was recommended to me by a coworker and I decided to give it a shot. When I asked when she was available, the rude staff said I had to get treated by the other doctor because Dr. Nupur had transferred my case. Dr. Nupur is skilled, but not everyone on her team is, and it is very unprofessional of Dr. Nupur to not even see her own patient when requested for a valid reason. I'm very disappointed with the care my mom has received at this rehabilitation nursing facility…read more I recently bought my mom several brand new sets of clothes so she could feel comfortable during her stay. Shortly after that, the staff moved her to another room. When I visited again, I noticed she had been wearing the same hospital gown for almost two weeks. When I checked her closet, her old clothes were relocated with her to the new room but all the new clothes I had purchased for her were missing. I asked one of the CNAs about it and was told they don't keep track of patients' clothing and that if the clothes don't have a name written on them, it's basically "free for all." This was shocking to hear. What's even more concerning is that the older clothes already in my mom's closet didn't have names on them either, yet those were still there. It makes me question what happened to the new items. Beyond the missing belongings, I'm also concerned about her comfort and care. She was placed on a very thin mattress (about 2 inches) with minimal blankets, which doesn't seem appropriate for someone recovering in a rehab facility. One CNA even complained to me that my mom scratches them during showers. However, when I asked my mom about it, she told me they scrub her so hard that it hurts when they bathe her. Hearing that from your own parent is extremely upsetting. Families trust these facilities to care for their loved ones with dignity and respect. Between the missing clothing, lack of accountability, and concerns about how my mom is being treated during basic care, my trust in this place has been seriously shaken. There are people who stayed there, sitting in wheelchairs in the hallway screaming for help and yelling at each other. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves oversight, accountability, and compassion in patient care.
