My first time visiting here. The therapist, Billy, was kind and I think he can help me. However, when I have given the phone person both my insurance cards, I thought they would tell me they don't take Medicaid. I would have tried to find another facility that did. Instead, I will have to pay $15 for each of the next 12 visits. This just makes it tougher for a senior on a fixed income! When I was handed my cards, there was no mention of Medicaid. read more

Horrible experience. I made several appointments 2 weeks ago. When I showed up today for my initial visit, they had no appointment for me. They were not helpful at all to try to resolve the problem. Specialized and very special. Had two occasions to use Amanda at the Pearl Street facility. She first provided therapy for back problems that physicians said needed surgery. Using her skills with dry needling process and other therapist techniques, I was able to avoid a second back surgery. I am able to golf as I want and only have occasional pain. Using the exercises and decompression she recommended has me in control of pain. The second cause for Amanda's skills was numbness in my arms which is virtually gone. Again, dry needling and muscle manipulation by her proved very effective. Along with Amanda's skillful abilities, the staff at Specialized is always very helpful. I am so pleased with my experience at Specialized Physical Therapy. I have only met with two of the therapists but each of them were excellent. Their concern is not only to help me heal, but to continue in a pain free lifestyle. I have had hip issues since March and decided to do something about it in August. Since then I began dry needling, (yes, it hurts but it is so worth the relief that follows,) once a week and doing the exercises that were recommended. After meeting with Bill, he was able to help me discern that it was truly a back issue that referred to my hip. Needless to say they go beyond just getting you in and out the door. I couldn't recommend this place more! And from now on I will be doing dry needling for any pain issues. (And that says a lot for someone who hates needles!) read more

Specialized helped me get back on my feet after two knee surgeries. I worked with Jamie and she did a wonderful job working my knee and teaching me what to do at home. I also appreciated that each session started with a deep massage of the injured area. It helped me work through discomfort while exercising and I believe helped prevent too much scar tissue from building. Recommended by my doctor. Great place for PT. read more

I have just started seeing Aimee but would say she has done a better job understanding my hip and back issues than any other phys therapist. I like that I can go to specialized pilates to strengthen certain parts of my body wiht someone onsite who knows what there doing! The lady upfront is very friendly as well. I have been a patient of Specialized Physical Therapy for nearly 2 years. After having three other PT's from other clinics and injuries that have been very difficult to navigate my therapist at Specialized PT has helped me more than anyone! I wouldn't go anywhere else. Even after my most recent surgery I was 'encouraged' to seek other PT's but I can't imagine getting my care from anywhere else. It also helps that the front office is extremely polite and always accommodating of my schedule. I had achilles surgery so I could run again in August of '14, and after a torturous amount of time on crutches, they sent me to physical therapy. I chose a place that was less than impressive, wasn't getting anything out of the expensive sessions, so I quit and decided I didn't need PT. A few months later, still limping very badly on the right due to the surgery, I also started limping on the left, because I was all off kilter. In late April, 8 months after my surgery, I was at wits end, certain I would always limp, be in pain, I met with Jenna of Specialized. I still remember telling her, practically in tears, how I would never run again, and her saying that there was a LOT she could do for me, and not to give up hope. We met twice a week for a while, then once, and now we are meeting every two weeks. I have a plethora of crazy exercises, a bunch of rubber bands, balance board, Bosu ball, and a foam roller.....and I am pretty dedicated to doing all she asks of me. Beyond this, however, and what I think really got me moving forward, is the manual work Jenna provides during our sessions. I HATE dry needling,...but it works. I swear her fingers are the pokiest fingers on the planet, that hone in on the most painful points of my achilles....but it works. The massaging, poking, prodding, needling, and manipulation gave my muscles the push needed. I am now just a few weeks away from working back into running. Wish me luck! read more

I was in Specialized PT for a strained biceps tendon with other effects on my shoulder from a muscle injury. My PT was Beth and she was incredible. Appointments are easy to make and the business itself is very easy to find. Heads up if you go, parking is to the south of the building which is never a problem to find a spot. This is especially huge being on S. Pearl St. Would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially Beth. She was very patient and understanding my issue. She put me on the road to recovery. read more

I've gone to two of their locations, Pearl Street in central Denver and Alton Way in Greenwood Village, and have seen several different therapists for a number of years. They have helped with several issues including rehabing a knee replacement and chronic back problems. The care is amazing. Careful diagnosis, caring people, quality work, great customer service. I recommend them without reservation. In addition, because of my lengthy history, I have gotten to know the owners and have had the opportunity to observe how they screen, interview and onboard new PT's, also very careful and with attention to quality service. read more

I had very good experiences here through two bouts of physical therapy after severe lower back spasms. Russ was very personable and genuinely cared about getting me back to my previous activity level. He also made sure to thoroughly explain each exercise/movement I was doing and the mechanical and physiological context for its use. I really appreciated that he did not 'dumb down' my therapy. As a therapist, I would give Russ 5 stars. The reason for my three star rating is specifically due to Specialized Physical Therapy's customer service and policies. I made accommodations for SPT twice by moving back my scheduled appointments to accommodate other patients that had run later or run over their appointments. On both occasions I was flexible and happy to do it with just an hour or two notice. However, I was not given the same accommodation on one occasion when I mis-entered an appointment in my calendar and showed up 15 minutes late for an appointment. I chose to forgo the appointment at the recommendation of the front desk staff. A few weeks later I was billed ~$75 for a no-show fee. The no-show fee (in other words, fee if you don't give a cancellation notice within 24 hours of your appointment) is included in their policies which I willingly agreed to. However, for some reason I thought that since I had made last minute accommodations for other patients, I would be similarly treated. That was not the case. After that, I did not return to SPT to finish the rest of my therapy orders as I no longer felt like a patient that they cared about healing; I felt more like just a commercial client. read more

This place goes by multiple names ... Specialized PT, Coverly PT, Feldhake PT. I was looking for a PT near my house after i tore my calf muscle. Bonus, Specialized PT is a Blue Cross preferred provider that takes care of all billing (so i only have to make a small co-pay). They were able to get me scheduled pretty quickly, and Kim started working her magic. After one PT visit, i was able to ditch the crutches and walk with a limp. After 2 more visits, no limp. My leg is still stiff and sore, so i'll keep going to Kim for a few more visits. But i have no doubt that Kim gets the credit for my speedy recovery! The front office staff is also very helpful and friendly. My only minor complaint is the communal PT room with lots of exercise equipment and tables ... it can get a bit noisy with lots of patients and physical therapists all talking at once and working out together. But i also recognize that this helps keep their costs reasonable. read more

Specialized Physical Therapy has made such a positive impact on my health and quality of life that I want other people searching for help with orthopedic or neurological pain to be aware of a company that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Over the years I have been seen by a number of physical therapists. They were "fine" in dealing with acute issue but eventually I was told that I was "the best I could hope to be". Over 3 yrs ago I became a patient of SPT because of chronic back and neck pain. From day one my experience in the SPT clinic was vastly different from any of the other clinics and to this day, it has remained that way. I continue to receive treatment that takes into account my individual history, current needs and future lifestyle goals. As owners of SPT, Aimee and Bill Feldhake seem to always choose investing in their therapists education, workplace satisfaction and patient needs over maximizing their income. I believe that it is because of their commitment to their employees and patients that, although Bill is my primary therapist, I have found all of the PT's to be equally as attentive, caring and skilled. The bottom line is that the treatment I receive allows me to live my life in a way that otherwise would not be possible. Similarly, I have seen patients enter treatment in excruciation pain for any and all types of injuries and illness. I have also watched those same patients complete treatment pain-free. Although I may not ever be pain-free, Specialized Physical Therapy continues to treat my chronic back / neck problem and make it possible for me to live each day without having to endure the kind of pain that in the past prevented me from being able to enjoy my life. before going to this practice, be sure you are aware of the level of experience and knowledge of your therapist. you can spend hundreds of $$ here and get no results with an inexperienced therapist, or go to a well-educated therapist at a different practise and make 100% improvement in one visit. difficult practice to work with; pretense of hearing your concern and then totally ignoring the issue after implying they would work on it. read more
