As a female, I know how I have been scammed by mechanics. So I found true value in Christian Brothers Automotive-Peoria, Lake Pleasant Pkwy! I found this establishment via word of mouth from all the way in Michigan. Their reputation precedes itself. They are honest, knowledgeable, fair and they provide quality service. Tom, and the entire staff served with a smile. Overall, I would highly recommend this Christian Brother Automotive to anyone. We'll stick with them!

Without indicating there was ANY cost involved whatsoever, Front Desk Guy sweetly asked "would you like us to give it a once-over?" Which, since I was at that time a regular customer, I THOUGHT that meant just give it a safety-check out of courtesy to a repeat, publicly complimentary, senior-citizen client that they maybe cared for! How wrong I was. After having it several days, they tell me that they can't fix the original problem because they "Couldn't find the part - and wouldn't install an after-market part off of Ebay" (My car is a 1999 w/ low mileage) Then the real Clinker after 3 days: They call and say, "We couldn't fix your problem, but come and get your truck and pay Christian Bro's nearly $200 bucks for a "diagnostic" that I WAS NOT INFORMED UP FRONT would cost anything at all! But also, this 'Diagnostic' informs me that my truck needs OVER $4300 DOLLARS in servicings and repairs - Including NEW BRAKES that, apparently the "Diagnostic expert" wasn't aware had been replaced by them on that very truck a few months earlier! I felt totally taken advantage of and complained to the manager, John, who gave me some "yada yada" and stated that that particular employee working the front desk was fired - However, and this is the whole point of the story - This manager of this multi-million dollar, allegedly 'Christian', gold-mine on the corner of Thunderbird & 75th Ave would NOT refund all, or any part, of this deceitful charge with a humble apology for their unscrupulous employee (note: Failure to disclose a COST right up front is a LIE ) Not only that, but Upsell #1 opened the door for MEGA-UPSELL #2 of $4,319 dollars! I STILL look back at this lengthy report with shock and awe. According to this diagnostic that I didn't ask for, there's no reason, whatsoever, my truck is still able to roll down the street. According to them, practically EVERYTHING on my vehicle is on it's last couple of miles.; Lastly, and final insult to my patronage, my age, my intelligence, nor would Christian Brothers even offer a discount or a half-off on the next visit to them. You know, a way of saying, "We still want your business". I think they saw a senior-woman and saw a dumb sucker ready to be plucked out of the stream of suckers. In that lone experience, I learned Christian Brothers is all about "Show me the $ MONEY $" They are only after the money, and customer retention is completely moot. They could care LESS if you are a returning customer. I am no longer using Christian Brothers for any auto repair needs. If anyone knows of an HONEST, caring, competent auto mechanic around Peoria/Glendale please be so kind as to DM me. I'm shopping for one. **I tried to scan & copy the actual Invoice from this incident, but for some technological mystery beyond me - I couldn't get this file search in Yelp to access where I am sure I put the two files.**

The AAA tow driver recommended I have it towed to the AAA Auto Shop to get a AAA DEAL.. So I had them tow it there. The following day I got a email the technician. He said I needed a new engine and it would cost about $15.000. Mine you the car was a 2012 buick enclave maybe $2500 to $3.000 Maybe. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY SHOP OF CHOICE. It needed a heater hose. New radiator fan belts oil change. Total cost$2.100. Shame on you AAA. NEVER AGAIN.

My son works near this shop. His car broke down (2006 Acura TL) due to overheating. He's 24 y.o…read more and I bought it for him when he obtained his nursing license. I had asked my son to get it towed to this location because it was right next to the hospital where he works. When the car was towed there, it was already closed. The next day, a guy by the name of Craig called me. He said he does not know why the car was there. I explained what happened over the phone as I do not live in that area. He then first said there will be a diagnostic fee over about $200 but I will get a discount as I am a AAA member. I reluctantly agreed as the rate for diagnose was pretty steep. I've seen shops charge maybe around $60-80 and I thought that was high. Now this shop charged $200 I thought to myself. My son had to drop off the keys and as soon as he did that, I got a call back from the shop. Not the same guy I spoke with but now a guy named Michael. Michael explained to me that the radiator and fans needs to be replaced. Head gasket was blown and likely need engine replacement. He went further to say that the engine would fail compression test and would likely return even if fixed so not worth keep putting money into it. I then asked him "Do you have picture of the blown head gasket you're speaking of?" He then said "No I do not" He then went on to say that he knows of someone who can salvage the car and would pay out few hundred dollars for it. He went further to say that on the condition that it has a clean title (in other words, no salvage or otherwise. Wait, why does it matter whether it's clean or not, if your friend is going to part it out??!!) Something in my inner voice told me to just say "I will think about it". I then immediately called my son. It seems that Michael had asserted similar problems about the car. So we chatted a bit and decided it would be better to get it towed to my house so we can get a better picture. So my son went to the shop before closing to pay the diagnostics fee and to get the key. He then called me saying "Michael" was rather upset that he went to pick up the car (amusingly). We both agreed that this guy Michael was shady. He knows of this friend that he used to have vehicles salvaged (red flag) for number years (those poor customers who got baited into his "doom and gloom"). He will take it and part it out (yikes). While we were talking, Michael kept saying he did not appreciate that I was insinuating a possible misinformation about the diagnosis. He then asked me "do you know how many years I've worked here?" That's not the issue. Though my fault that when I called, I got a bit heated but I later apologized. But even before I had finished talking, he said "this call is done" then hung up. I called back and apologetically asked if the diagnose was done by him. While asking him the question, I told him that if I had hung up on my customer just because the customer was upset, does not matter who's fault it was, I'd probably be fired on the spot. While I was speaking, he kept interrupting me so I had to keep saying "can I finish speaking then you can speak?" When I pressed him who had diagnosed the vehicle, whether it was him or Craig, he hesitatingly said it was a guy named Rodney. Then I asked him why I did not get a report of the diagnosis. To cut to the chase, he said he will scan the report and email it within 15minutes. Now it's been several hours on Saturday 5/9/2026 and still have not seen the report he had promised to send within 15 minutes or so. This all feels surreal as how can AAA do this to me and my son! 5/18 Update: Lakshmi Pal from AAA Customer Relations contacted me via BBB case ID 24844257. She's trying to spin it like a repair issue. Nope, it was the shop trying commit fraud of taking my son's Acura under false pretenses. Neither of us received official diagnostics report. 5/13 Update: After Zach's Garage of Tucson changed the thermostat and the radiator (see attached photos) it's now running smoother than ever before. By the way, I've reported this shop to AG of Arizona. I am now contemplating to press criminal charges against this shop. 5/12 Update: Still no report received. My trusted mechanic just called me saying it needs new radiator and thermostat ($639.23+$207.28, incl. labor), and he replaced them and now running perfect. Michael failed at his illicit attempt to commit fraud to a AAA member. BTW, to date, AAA never reached out to me about this. 5/11 Update: Michael still has not sent report. 5/10 Update: Car was towed back to our house. Car started up just fine, no smoke, or no weird smell. Seems to run very smoothly like a Honda engine should. I will get it checked out by my local "trusted mechanic" and update this review as soon as I have it. 5/9 Update: It is now 16:27 MST (Phoenix Time) Saturday, 5/9/2026, and business is closed (closes at 4PM on Saturday). I never did receive the report he had promised to email at around 8:15AM this morning.

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with this family-owned car key replacement company. After having my car key replaced, the key turned out to be faulty and didn't function properly right after I left the lot. I was advised that an estimate would be sent to me, and I was instructed to tow my car back in for a reevaluation and potential repair. However, the lack of professionalism and communication from the company was astonishing. Despite reaching out four times through calls and sending ten text messages to coordinate the follow-up service and request the promised estimate, I received no response whatsoever. It was deeply frustrating to be left in the dark and not given the basic courtesy of a response. Furthermore, upon returning my car for reevaluation, I was shocked to find that the first job was not only subpar in quality, but it also left my car's cabinetry in disarray. The lack of attention to detail and the disorganized manner in which the job was completed demonstrated a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. The atmosphere at this establishment was less than pleasant. The owner's elderly mother, who appeared to be in charge, was openly clueless about ongoing customer service issues and seemed disinterested in addressing them. The overall culture within the company felt rough and unnecessarily arrogant. There was no valid reason for the arrogance displayed by the staff, given the evident lack of competence and poor service. In summary, I strongly advise against using this company for any car key replacement or related services. Their work is shoddy, their communication is abysmal, and their eagerness to close up for the day seems to outweigh their commitment to ensuring the job is completed satisfactorily. I will never return to this establishment and would caution others to carefully consider their options before entrusting their car key needs to this particular company. Updated a Week Later: After taking down this review days later after he finally called and responded, I tried to have it towed back, and he went MIA for days after telling me to tow it back! I attempted to work with Steveo after he called back following the initial review. However, he adamantly refused to provide the vendor information for the work that was paid for by a company that was foreclosed on and subsequently lost my key in the process. They towed it to him, and the key doesn't work! It was for a neutral safety switch, and now my car doesn't start in neutral. It's not the battery, not the alternator, and not the relay - it's the key that was lost by the company across the street, contrary to the complete lies being fabricated. Steveo is far from a subject matter expert; he hired someone to do the key repair and then acted as if my battery was the issue. He refused to disclose who this mysterious person was, but instead, offered a half-baked quote with additional repairs and more key reprogramming. It's astonishing - you redid the key and now you want me to shell out more money to have the dealer or whoever do another one? Can't you provide a total quote? Or better yet, tell me what's wrong, what Hurley Auto jerry-rigged, and who performed the repair? But alas, NOTHING! A business's moral compass is reflected in its leadership, and in this case, it's quite poor. I can't fathom how this place manages to maintain a 4.8-star rating. I'm here to tell you, this place is a rotten apple.
