Went to start PT at the Gowanus location and there was a lot of miscommunication about referral…read morerequirements and ended up not being able to be seen despite confirming the appointment several times with Spear and arriving to the appointment 15 min early (although this specific location was apparently unclear that I confirmed and said I didn't). The front desk staff at the time I went was very hot and cold. First starting very defensive and not being kind that I was not aware I needed additional paperwork (I moved states) and then ending my saying they will do their best to help me. Overall unclear if I am going to go back considering I was highly frustrated with the communication and initial interaction (which is such a shame because the PTs seem to be knowledgeable).

I came for most of my PT sessions. The PTs I've seen have been great. Front desk staff on the other…read morehand leave much to be desired all times except my first visit was I ever greeted. I usually don't care too much about these things but after seeing visitors come in right after me get greeted on several occasions, it left me with a bad impression. Most my sessions were with one PT and when my sessions with her came to an end and I would be seeing someone else in between I decided to go with an office closer to home. This is definitely one of the bigger locations and there is often 2 or 3 patients being seen at once. This might be something that might bother you since you might end needing to flag your PT throughout your session. Thankfully my PT was always attentive so this was rarely the case.

I am so glad I finally found a Dr who is excellent at what he does and is truly compassionate in wanting to help. Medically - he REALLY knows what he is doing - I am confident about his abilities and would def recommend him to a friend. He listens and then helps me understand what is the problem. Which he has always been able to help get better with his injections or even as simple as a Rx for a week. (And I have used other pain Managment Dr in California who was not anywhere as competent as Dr Lefkowitz- so I have other Dr to compare him to - Lefkowitz is Top of his Field) - and I travel to see him he is not in my neighborhood. He has new people in his office and I have to say his staff has stepped it up in the customer service department. In the past two phone calls to the office I called and asked a follow up question to the first person answering the phone and that person relayed all that information to the next person so I would not have to repeat myself. So the nurse I had to deal with was already up to speed and repeated back "as I understand it..." and she knew everything I said to the first person. Very good hand-off. That's outstanding for a telephone service for a Doctors office. usually you have to repeat yourself over and over. My experience visiting the office as well as on my recent phone calls that his staff were always very professional - smart - helpful - competent - precise - knowledgeable - calm - unrushed - they were truly listening when I talked not interrupting. All qualities you want from a medical office experience. So in addition to having a very competent Dr who has solved/cured me of several issues for me the office too gets high marks.

I began seeing Dr. Taylor after about 6 months of chronic groin pain that had returned as a result of antibiotic use, prostatitis, and nerve strain. In addition, I had a locked-up sacrum and some spinal scoliosis. I had been to several urologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and pain specialists. I had tried auto-immune diets, tricyclic antidepressants, steroidal pain blocks, etc. Over a few months, we reasoned through the groin pain, hatched several action plans, and in the process, made real progress against the pain, and definitely corrected some spinal alignment issues I'd had since childhood. There are so few doctors who practice Osteopathic Manipulation (OMM or OMT), especially in New York. While Dr. Taylor does not accept health insurance, his office assistant is provide a detailed bill that is easy to submit for out-of-network insurance coverage. When I was searching for DOs in New York who practice OMT, I went to many who either did not spend any time or effort in the session or had no idea what they were doing. Dr. Taylor upholds the incredible legacy of osteopathy by being perceptively hands-on, spending time with his patients, and refusing to rush judgements.

I contacted Dr Taylor and he made himself available quickly, which i really appreciated. I found him a very professionnal osteopathe, checking thoroughly my history and taking all the time needed to work with me. He helped me a lot, showed me a few yoga exercises to do, and took news from me the following days. I've seen a lot of ostéopathe, in France where i live, and elsewhere as well, and i can safely recommand Ben Taylor.
