Initially my orthopedist had recommended surgery but I decided to take a shot with PT first to see what progress could be made. I worked with Aakanksha over the entire time and I've come out the other end 99.9% pain free - around 8 months in total. She was very patient and helpful in understanding how to progress my mobility and reduce pain, we tried lots of different exercises each week to figure out what worked. Absolutely fantastic. I'm extremely happy I was able to avoid surgery and I can't be more grateful.. All the staff was very friendly and welcoming as well - the other PTs and the front desk too.

IF YOU VALUE YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION, like your date of birth, your address, and information about…read moreyour care, I strongly suggest avoiding this location of Spear. The majority of what bothered me wasn't that they breached HIPAA law several times in a phone call to me: they fed to me someone else's date of birth, and instead of asking me to give them information about myself for them to confirm my identity, they fed me this information. Again, before they knew I was me. But I was ready to excuse the person who made the mistakes. I did want to prevent it from happening again, though. It was the ways the clinical director handled it that really frustrated and angered me. When I expressed concern to the m, while they acknowledged that a mistake was made, they responded with a lot of assertions about tangential policies instead of the issue itself; they didn't assure me that they and/or the location would work to avoid the same kind of mistake in the future; when I addressed this hole in a second in-person conversation about it, they claimed they made this assurance in the previous conversation, citing lines they never expressed in that previous conversation; in the same, second in-person conversation, they told me they talked with the person who broke HIPAA law, and less than three minutes later, when I asked them if they talked with the person, they expressed their 'Yes' in a high voice -- very unconvincing. The clinical director's physical therapy guidance also lacked the level of care for movement quality and level of attention in general that I want for my own healing or that of anyone I care about.

I was told I would receive local anesthesia before my procedure and I did not. During the procedure Dr. Leftkowitz had a conversation with his pre-med assistant about where he might go for the summer. During this time he did not tell me when he would start and he did not apply local anesthesia. Did not say "little pinch" nor "big pinch" At one point I actually screamed "what the hell are you doing?!" And. When he was done he actually said see you're all better! I began seeing Dr. Taylor after about 6 months of chronic groin pain that had returned as a result of antibiotic use, prostatitis, and nerve strain. In addition, I had a locked-up sacrum and some spinal scoliosis. I had been to several urologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and pain specialists. I had tried auto-immune diets, tricyclic antidepressants, steroidal pain blocks, etc. Over a few months, we reasoned through the groin pain, hatched several action plans, and in the process, made real progress against the pain, and definitely corrected some spinal alignment issues I'd had since childhood. There are so few doctors who practice Osteopathic Manipulation (OMM or OMT), especially in New York. Dr. Taylor upholds the incredible legacy of osteopathy by being perceptively hands-on, spending time with his patients, and refusing to rush judgements.
