A year later and I most certainly needed some work done and this shop delivered a quality…read moreexperience. My SUV suspension just "felt off" and the techs at this shop discovered one of my sway bar links were completely broken. Don't ask me what that is but Good Lord they were able to fix me right up pronto. Thankfully I didn't need to leave my car her for 3 weeks like many mechanics ask you to do, well not exactly 3 weeks but they tend to take longer than a day at times. This team had me fixed up same day. The mechanic also told me my brakes were pretty worn out but that I could go a little longer before replacing them to save some money and get the most from my current brakes (rear). I value honesty and fair prices which in turn gets my respect & loyalty so the fact the mechanic told me my brakes were wearing out but he didn't want to take my money (yet) when I could get more life out of the brakes I currently have really is amazing. I was super thankful for the honest assessment of my brakes and opted to change them now rather than later. Besides I don't drive much so the brakes I had were probably last replaced about five years ago so from years of weather my rotors certainly looked bad, at least to an amateur like me because I'm certainly no mechanic. Overall I am super happy to have found this place and am committed to being a loyal customer for as long as I live in the Goshen area. If I eventually get a brand new car sadly the team here won't see me for a long time until that new car ages but I'd still recommend them in a heart beat. For now we will have a lasting business relationship for the next few years till my current SUV dies on me, hopefully not too soon under the care of these auto experts. Thank you Goshen Automotive team!

I called the shop while the incident was happening, and shortly afterward, my dash camera was unplugged. I ultimately had to go to the shop in person to address the situation. When I spoke with the owner, Tony, I was extremely disappointed by how my concerns were handled. Rather than taking the situation seriously, he was dismissive and repeatedly denied that his employee had taken the money, even after I explained that I had video footage showing what happened. Tony told me that their protocol is to place any spare change they find inside a cup. I specifically explained that this was not done with my money, but he continued to deny that the employee had taken it. He also told me that, as part of their process when vacuuming a customer's vehicle, employees go through the glove compartment and center console. I find that extremely concerning. I don't understand why vacuuming a vehicle would require employees to go through a customer's personal belongings. At one point, Tony sarcastically asked me, "What do you want me to do, fire him?" He also said that I should have waited and allowed the situation to continue so we could see whether the employee was actually going to steal the money. I found that response completely unacceptable. I should not have to knowingly allow someone to take my belongings just to prove that something was wrong. Tony also stated that the security cameras inside the establishment have not worked in years. Given what happened, I found that extremely concerning. A business entrusted with customers' vehicles should have functioning security measures and should take reports of missing property seriously. What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability and the way my concerns were handled when I brought them directly to Tony. I can only speak to my own experience, but the combination of what I witnessed, the lack of functioning security cameras, and the explanation that employees routinely go through customers' glove compartments and center consoles has left me with serious concerns about leaving personal belongings in a vehicle at this establishment. Don't let this happen to you. Consider taking your business elsewhere.

Excellent service and very friendly staff. An A+ experience all around. Highly recommended.

The second time they worked on it the noise was better and it seemed to be okay for small local drives. Once we took it on the highway, the belt broke off, coolant exploded and we lost power steering because the belt broke off the track and the car overheated. We brought it back a third time and they fixed it again but forgot to refill the coolant. The incompetence was unbelievable. This place seems legitimate but it isn't. Known Mel for well over 20 years. Before he passed in 2008, my father was friends with him, and the…read morebody shop he worked at even sponsored his racecar. At my recommendation, many of my law enforcement friends and family used him over the years. So naturally when my son recently had an issue with his truck, a 2004 Silverado, we took it to Mel.... And to our absolute shock we got screwed. Badly. The cost was outrageous and it took forever to what amounted to simply replacing a flywheel. Got it back and subsequently learned that many of my friends and family and their business and families also had recent bad experiences with Mel. Guess he really went down hill. However, a few days after we got the truck back we discovered a leak in the transmission that we didn't have before. We didn't have a leak. To avoid Mel, we decided to first look into it ourselves and with a simple visual observation it was clear that when the flywheel was installed the front seal must have been damaged. Reluctantly we took it back to Mel. Feeling like I disappointed my son by recommending Mel to begin with, I hoped that Mel would be responsible and reasonable as the leak was obviously a result of his work. A front seal is nothing and should have been done when he had it apart. Poor workmanship. Transmission work 101. We left the truck for him to inspect the leak. He had the truck for another three weeks. We waited and got the call and instead of just replacing the $15 seal and accepting that he should have caught that, or even just working with us a little , he said it would be over 4800 to rebuild. A rebuild? It doesn't need that, just a front seal, Mel. I explained that the leak was a result of their initial work and their reply wasn't to deny that fact, but rather to say that the truck was driven 1000 miles since their repair. Obscene. Absolutely obscene. I have since learned of many other ppl who were once friendly with Mel and relied on his work also got screwed. I have the names, Mel. Try me. Mel, you were once a good guy, reputable and honest. You are now nothing more than a crook. DO NOT USE ACADEMY TRANSMISSIONS. Almost 30 years of local law enforcement and I have only seen this type of disgusting behavior from the lowest of the low. Mel and Academy Transmission is absolutely the lowest of the low. I'm writing this review as a former employee who wants to offer insight for potential customers…read more During my time working at this mechanic shop, I witnessed several troubling practices that customers deserve to be aware of. There were instances where parts were charged for but never actually installed. In some cases, unnecessary parts were sold to customers who didn't need them, and at times, the work billed was not fully completed. These practices were not isolated or accidental--they happened frequently enough to be considered routine. Additionally, the shop often lacked qualified technicians to perform repairs properly. Corners were cut, and customer vehicles did not always receive the level of care and attention they deserved. I'm sharing this to encourage others to ask questions, request to see the old parts that were "replaced," and to get second opinions if something doesn't feel right. Your safety and your wallet are worth protecting!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with M & H Tractor Co. during what was already a…read morestressful week dealing with a malfunctioning 4-month-old Cub Cadet zero-turn mower. I take care of several lawns, so having my mower go down unexpectedly was a major problem. I contacted Cub Cadet directly, and they referred me to M & H Tractor Co. as the nearest Cub Cadet-certified repair center where my factory warranty would be honored. When I called, the person I spoke with was very pleasant and told me to bring the mower down and they would get me checked in. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely once I arrived. While one employee was entering my information into the computer, several others came out. One employee immediately told me, "I hope you know it's going to be a really long time." When I asked if he meant weeks, he told me it could be even longer and then said, "You didn't buy this mower here. You are not our priority. All of our other customers come before you." He then went on to tell me not to bother calling to check on it, saying that the more customers call, the less time they have to work -- essentially telling me to drop off a nearly new mower and not call to ask when I might get it back. Despite how rude and dismissive the interaction was, I remained polite and even offered to do whatever I could to make the process easier for them. I walked back out to my truck, made a few phone calls, and thankfully found another Cub Cadet repair shop a few towns away. The gentleman I spoke with there couldn't have been nicer and told me to bring the mower over. He also made an important point: Cub Cadet reimburses authorized dealers for warranty repairs. They are not being asked to repair my mower for free simply because I purchased it somewhere else. I went back inside M & H, told them I would be taking my mower elsewhere, loaded it back onto my trailer, and left. Maybe, in the end, they saved me the trouble of leaving my mower somewhere I clearly wasn't valued as a customer. But when someone has spent a substantial amount of money on a brand-new machine and is already stressed because it has malfunctioned only four months later, a little professionalism and basic courtesy go a long way. I completely understand that repair shops get busy. I understand that there can be long wait times. What I don't understand is telling a customer to their face that they aren't a priority because they didn't purchase their machine from you -- especially when you're representing yourself as a certified Cub Cadet warranty repair facility. I certainly won't be returning to M & H Tractor Co. for service, and after this experience, I wouldn't consider purchasing a mower, tractor, or anything else from them in the future. Thankfully, another Cub Cadet repair shop was happy to help and treated me like a customer rather than an inconvenience.
