She really focused on getting out all of the knots. They both did such a great job at focusing on our specific troubling areas. The pressure was the perfect amount and she checked in on me throughout the massage making sure everything was the way I liked. I've had massages in the past where sometimes it's too much pressure or the table/towels are too hot and I get too shy to speak up. I booked a couples massage at SpaTerre for 9 AM on Monday, April 28th, as part of my 30th birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the night before, I experienced a sudden allergic reaction, likely due to something I ate at dinner. My face swelled up, and I developed severe eye irritation and drainage. Despite hoping the reaction would subside with medication, I woke up feeling worse and knew I wasn't in any condition to receive -- or enjoy -- a $375 massage. I was aware of SpaTerre's 24-hour cancellation policy and had a friend contact them by both phone and email as soon as it was clear I wouldn't be able to attend. The staff accepted the cancellation but informed us that a refund would not be possible due to the policy. Later, I followed up directly and explained the situation to the manager. I hoped for a spa credit or more flexibility, especially given the medical nature of the cancellation and the fact that I visit Key West regularly. Unfortunately, I was told the most they could offer was a discount on a future service. While I understand the need for cancellation policies, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility or empathy in this situation. Emergencies happen, and I had hoped for a more compassionate response. For that reason, I'm hesitant to rebook with SpaTerre, even at a discounted rate. read more

I just had the most relaxing the last couple of days at this spa. The full body scrubs, Swedish massage and the outdoor bath with ocean view were super, so nice that I came back the next day to get a pedicure. Facility is clean and staff are friendly. One thing stood out from the rest of my spa experience was the pedicure session. Melissa was amazingly talented and kind professional. She took her time do the cleaning and removing all those stubborn cuticles. She did the best French toe nails (gel) I had ever had. She free handed the tips according to the size and shape of my nails. A lot of places don't do that anymore. They look perfect at the end. What an amazing spa day! I started with a massage from Kari, and it put me in the right state of mind. I followed it with a sugar scrub by Lisa. If you have never had a full body exfoliation with a constant running water to rinse it off, then you have no idea what you are missing. After took a lunch break at the pool. From there I had a facial, mani and pedi with Melissa. All I have to say is it was an absolutely relaxing day. Everyone was very friendly and informative. Not the best spa I'd ever been to, but also not the worst. Front desk was not particularly friendly, but not rude. Massage was pretty good but cut short. I came straight from the beach and requested to rinse off and was told they were booked back to back, but I was the only one there. After a few minutes I was told I could take a shower and it took 10 min and that was deducted from my massage time. Then therapist told me he was leaving right after me because it was his birthday yesterday. Then I had to wait 30 min in the cold waiting room for my mani pedi while one of the employees was getting a treatment. For the exorbitant prices they charge and claims to be a boutique spa- they well underproduced. I was told by my hotel there would an all day access to the spa- drinks, outdoor patio, fitness center, and when I arrived the receptionist said I only have access to the pool. For shame! Save your money and go somewhere better. read more

Booked a birthday weekend for my wife at the Ocean Key Resort. (I booked over a month out) They seemed very professional and friendly, they said Spaterre would call me to set up our spa appointments. WEEKS later they called and emailed me a spa menu. Right off the bat, when I called back, the lady was rude and acted like she had no idea what I was talking about when mentioning what should be happening. When I selected a service, the response was "we don't offer that anymore, those menus are old" Not my problem, its what YOU sent me literally TODAY. When I selected a different service and requested NO male therapist for myself but for my wife was fine, she gave me the same answer "we can't do that" Lady on the phone was very rude and unaccommodating. Spa treatments are for the customer sole, not the convenience of the proprietor. If you can't accommodate, find a different line of work. Definitely worst experience with Spa customer service I've encountered! Go somewhere else and save your frustration and anxiety! read more

Very nice spa. Great massage. (As a massage therapist for 20 years myself, I am very particular). Professional, friendly team. Especially loved getting the deep conditioning hair treatment after the massage and enjoying a cocktail by the pool, and letting the sun soak it into my hair. Pool side service was great too. Called this spa on Thursday Dec 19 as part of our 45th wedding celebration trip . Wife requested one facial ( for her) and one massage ( for me since I have a full beard and mustache). We set the time. We received no confirmation phone call or other reminder. Today called to make sure where they were located and approximate driving time. Got to the spa and after filling out paperwork were greeting with two spa employees ready to give TWO facials and an hour later TWO Massages. That wasn't what we ordered. The girl at the counter was unyielding and refused to believe that SHE could have been the one who miscommunicated. My wife didn't want me to have to sit by for an hour while she got a facial and she didn't want to sit around when she was done for an hour while I was supposed to get the massage an hour later than when we scheduled it. I found the girl at the desk to be smug. If you are told that this is a good spa then I would certainly make sure that the exact treatment(s) and times are spelled out to your satisfaction not to the schedule they set up to coerce and try and force you into something you didn't want. As it is my wife was forced to either accept a facial feeling bad about my part of the anniversary being spoiled or pay $132.00 for something she didn't get. I was made to feel very welcome the moment I walked in the door by Beth and Nicolette I received messages from a very skilled masseuse Ashley she used just the right pressure, but must of all her movements are very smooth and rhythmic, which make the message much more peaceful and relaxing. I've gotten many deep tissue massages before and this was probably one of the worst. The pressure was definitely not deep tissue. She didn't even bother to ask how the pressure was, so I kindly asked her if she could increase it after it became clear to me that it wasn't going to get any better. She said sure, but there was not any discernible difference and I definitely did not feel relaxed at the end of the massage. The only solace I had was knowing that I could adjust her tip downward. However, to add insult to injury, I found out when I went to pay that they automatically add in a 20 percent gratuity!!! What type of place does that???? No wonder she didn't feel the need to ask me how the pressure was or to actually try to give me a good massage. No incentive, as she is going to get 20 percent regardless!!! So, out 320 dollars after paying for my girlfriend and me and ended up feeling frustrated and hence more stressed than when I went there. What a waste of money! read more
