She guided me and reassured me from his very first new born visit, to teaching me to sleep train him, and having a breastfed baby that slept through the night at 4 months old! She is a God sent! Her presence is calming and nurturing which really settles and uneasy sick child. Her approach is never to over medicate instead to address the illness in the most practical and effective way. There are never too many people in the waiting room and the wait is never long. They are very accommodating and will work to get your child scheduled as soon as possible. As a military family it's difficult coming to a new area to look for comprehensive care for our kids that will accept our insurance. Kristen has been available since dealing with an on going illness with our 4yo. As a working parent with a military spouse who is often away after school and weekend hours are so important. Also she is so accommodating with helping us avoid urgent care which aren't equipped for pediatrics. Kristen and the office staff are also personable and responsive. They make it easy to make appointments and are friendly when arriving at the office. Kristen really knows how to make the parents and kids feel comfortable when it seems like sickness is never ending! So thankful for having found this great group!

She did not attempt to reassure them or make them feel comfortable. I specifically said I didn't not want my boys genital area's examined (they are 11 and 13 and were not comfortable with that and I felt it was not needed) and she did it anyway! My kids needed a form filled out for camp and the threatened to not fill it out if they did not remove their clothing which was completely uncalled for and really not necessary for the exam they needed. If you want the feelings of your children respected DO NOT GO HERE!

Office staff kept talking over me and couldn't give me a logical answer as to why the doctor would prescribe my son medication for a condition but then refuse to provide me with a letter for insurance confirming the diagnosis. The doctor and the office refused to work with me and now my 4 year old son will suffer and be delayed treatment. Honestly disgraceful. If you are looking for an office to help support you and child, definitely look elsewhere.

That all changed once a friend recommended Dr. Merkle. I've only seen Dr. Merkle himself a few times during visits, as I usually see his Physician's Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (either Donna or Beth), but they are always on point and extremely helpful. I never have an issue getting an appointment (even same day!), and the whole office and staff are just wonderful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Merkle and his team if you are in the market for a primary care physician.

I would NOT recommend this practice. I had a colonoscopy performed by one of the primary physicians…read morefrom this practice a month prior at Newton Medical Center. All in all that went well. I wished to have another procedure performed by the same physician requiring another examination and consultation? I would think he had a birds eye view durning the colonoscopy. After my examination the scheduler made three appointments and she wrote the dates and times on an appointment card. A couple of days prior to the first appointment I get text an email and the appointment has been changed to two hours latter than the written appointment I was given. Not a huge problem but I had made other appointments for that day and there was no warning of the change on their end. This practice is a 50 minute ride from my home in Milford PA. Needless to say I got to their office 15 minutes early signed in and waited for my now 12:30 appointment. I waited over 40 minutes past my appointment time with NO communication from the desk regarding the long wait time. I contained myself but one other patient got very upset and made a scene regarding the long wait and non- communication and walked out on his appointment. I soon followed. I will be looking for another practice that is more professional and affords more respect for their patients and their time.
