Sparks Florist is actually my favorite florist in town. They are always helpful, friendly, and their shop offers all kinds of crazy cute gifts for every occasion in addition to their fabulous floral arrangements. Today however, I attended a class on flower arranging at their main flower headquarters on Hymer Lane in Sparks. They provide everything you need the flowers, the pruners and the vase for a charge of around $70. Your led through the flower arranging process and in the end, you take home a lovely bouquet to display and amaze your family and friends and your creativity. I will be attending more classes here because today was the only fun, but I learned about floral arranging and flowers that I can grow in my own backyard from guest speaker, Jessy Lozada of Reno Flower Company. She went into detail about how to prepare your soil, what plants to pick and even gave us a cute little card with tips for long lasting blooms. read more

Receive one of the worst flower arrangements for my birthday last week. All of maybe 6 flowers in it the rest was mostly weeds. It was half dead lasted one day. The delivery guy was great very nice, not his fault. I have received arrangements from them in the past and they have always been ok. With the price of arrangements I expect something better than a bunch of inexpensive flowers II could buy from the grocery store. I wasn't going to do a review but don't want anyone else to waste their money. read more

I received roses for Valentine's Day and there are still beautiful after 4 days. The delivery was on February 13 at 9 am. I'm glad I didn't have to wait around all day for the flowers. The delivery guy was prompt and very kind. I'm not sure how much the roses cost but other flowers I have bought there have been reasonable. I would recommend using any one of the locations rather than ordering from an online provider like FTD or Teleflora. read more

I needed some single yellow roses for a business meeting and happened upon Sparks Florist; there are three locations listed under this name and are all the same business in three locations. Late on a Thursday I sent them an email using the link on their website and I only expected a response by Friday morning. Instead, I received a response from Suzanne within a few minutes. I asked for a quote for the flowers in a return email and Suzanne quickly gave me my options. The prices quoted were very competitive so I placed the order for the following Monday, for pickup at their Hymer Design Center. I gave Suzanne my credit card details and received a confirmation email. Early on Monday I received an email with a photo of what my order looked like. I was helped by Mike at the Hymer location, a very friendly and efficient fellow. From start-to-finish, this was a first class experience from a well-run company. This review is specifically for this location- I've been to it the most of all of the locations because it's right off the highway and generally when I'm buying flowers I'm in a hurry. I called this location specifically when I needed flowers in 30 minutes from ordering them. They assured me it wasn't a hassle and they could make it happen. Sparks Florist is my go-to florist whether I need holiday flowers or "random" flowers. (Aren't "random" flowers the best?!) I've always been really happy with the arrangements the team makes me and how quickly they are able to get them done. I have gotten my boyfriend flowers for our house on more than than 3 occasions with the request that they look as "manly" as possible. They've done a good job incorporating orange and red to make these bouquets look manly yet still beautiful. One other thing that I really like about this Florist is that although they are super "local" I can use them to send my mom flowers in Wisconsin. They put the order in and work with other florists to make it happen but they are still in charge of quality control and if something doesn't go as planned they have their 100% satisfaction guarantee to take care of me. I've gone to every location depending on where and how fast I needed the flowers (seriously I can be a terrible procrastinator) and the employees have been fabulous each time. read more

Terri Henderson @ Sparks Florist assisted, guided and went above and beyond for our daughter's recent wedding. We went to the center to DIY the florals (those that we could do LOL) and she made it fun and so easy. She did an amazing job. We made last minute additions that she hit out of the park with the arbor decor and aisle - simple but perfectly elegant. We could not have asked for a better experience or a better more informative person to work with. But she also was incredibly helpful with all tips wedding! She delivered the flowers, arranged them, then dismantled the flowers from the arbor after the ceremony to be placed elsewhere for the reception. My family has always used sparks florist (and are always pleased!), so it was a no-brainer who I would use for my wedding flowers. I couldn't wait to sit down and talk to Terri as I have seen all my friends and family do in the past for their weddings. We had my mother, sister, and future mother in-law (A LOT of people for wedding flowers I know!!) and Terri was wonderful at keeping the peace by offering compromises (but secretly always on the brides side!) and ideas for things we didn't even think of. Talk about customer service! The big day isn't here just yet, but we are so excited and so relieved to know that Sparks Florist is on the job - YAY for one less thing to worry about! read more

Hi there! I read the other review for Sparks Florist on Hymer Ave and was, frankly, shocked. My experience was NOTHING like that. In fact, I honestly don't know what I would have done without their help - my wedding flowers were simply gorgeous. My mother is a florist in Iowa, and she did a big portion of my flowers via Sparks Florist's Do it Yourself program, but we also used the design staff for all of the bridal bouquets and arch. My mom couldn't bring the flowers all the way to Reno (for obvious reasons - lack of a cooler in their vehicle being the first) so we ordered all of our flowers through Sparks Florist - using a combination of their Do It Yourself program and their flower design experts - and got an AMAZING deal. Sparks Florist tiers their rates if you are ordering DIY - based on how in-depth you want to go with cleaning the flowers, etc. Since I knew my mom and sister would handle that, we were able to clean and arrange our own flowers, and that saved us a lot of money. My husband and I were married September 28th at Montreux Golf and Country Club, and I have to be honest, Terri, the head wedding coordinator at Sparks Florist, actually impressed us more than any of the other day-of coordinators we worked with in terms of helping us with our big event. First, she sat with me on two separate occasions - for more than an hour both times - to understand my vision. Since I grew up around flowers, I am definitely picky. I knew what I liked, but I needed a bit of help getting there. She made suggestions when we needed a substitution for a specific flower that wasn't in season, and helped me keep everything realistic from a cost and ability standpoint. And she even put together sample arrangement to help me feel comfortable with my final choice! We went with Hydrangeas (purple and green) and they were simply beautiful flowers. So elegant. Hydrangeas are tough to work with, but these looked as good as the day they were cut. We rented the space at Sparks Florist a few days before the wedding, and they provided us with all of the tools we needed (for cutting and arranging) and we were able to keep the flowers in their cooler for two days prior to the ceremony. My mom, aunt and sister and I had a blast working on the flowers - it was really a fun day! Terri at SF also added SO many details that made everything more elegant and beautiful. A rhinestone drop on my bouquet, my mother's lace from her wedding dress sorrounding the bouquet handle, crystal drops throughout our ceremony arch, and crystals in the bottom of each vase really added to the flowers. Oh, and I didn't mention this, but Terri also picked up my candelabras from another rental company in Reno (and - get this - got me a free upgrade on bigger, better ones, as the ones I had ordered were too flimsy to hold a decent arrangement of flowers) AND she brought them back to the rental company for me after my wedding - all because she wanted to be sure the arrangements would work with them. Thank goodness she did that, as we would have had some seriously wobbly candelabras, and it may even have been dangerous to have them on the tables! I cannot say enough about the staff at Sparks Florist on Hymer Ave. Their attention to detail, thoughfulness, and overall niceness! They make you feel so comfortable, and really do care about your big day. And, for someone like me who adores flowers, I will never forget how beautiful everything was. I just wanted to say that this flower shop is amazing. It's where I went for prom flowers in high school, graduation, and where my fiance gets my flowers from for our anniversary for the last seven years. The flowers are always beautiful, and last on average around two weeks. They are very friendly, and if there's a problem with an arrangement they will do their very best to fix it. My fiance bought an arrangement from the flower bucket once (you may look up my review) and the flowers were nice for the first two days and then kicked the bucket. Sparks florist's flowers are always so nice, and last so that you can enjoy them.
