I live in California and come to Iowa to visit family. When I get here, I've got about 2000 miles worth of bugs on my vehicle. Sparkling Image is my go to place to scrub off the bugs. They always have done a great job. I have magnets on the back of my car that I forgot to take off this time. One of them came off and the staff went back and found it for me. I was grateful for that. I went into Sparkling Image Carwash today, first time in a long time. As I watched other vehicles go through, I noticed that the main part of the carwash was not working. Cars were getting soaped, but not sprayed with the washing jets, then getting rinsed. The rinse area was not getting the job done without the wash cycle working and cars were coming out with soap residue in them. When I mentioned it to one of the workers, he said "It's not my carwash, so I really don't care". The next person said that they were aware, that the carwash had been broken all day, then went back to smearing soap across my truck as he pretended to dry the truck. Nobody was there that cared. I had to go straight to Mister Carwash to wash off the soap. Sparkling Image is not the quality wash it used to be. read more

Had just been to car dealer for service & they washed my car, also. I'm 85 yrs. old & handicapped, so I'm unable to do so, but I needed the interior of my car cleaned so I stopped at Sparkling Image. I was told they wouldn't just do the interior without having my car washed again! I don't think so! I didn't see any other customers taking advantage of their services. Wouldn't it have been worth their while to completely clean the inside of my car as well as more profitable that have the car washed. Just thought I'd warn handicapped seniors to avoid them unless you want one of their 3, offers! Not much concern for helping handicapped people; bottom line seems to be spend big or get lost. read more

Lousy wash!! I paid $27 and there were still LOTS of crumbs on the console and there was a coffee sleeve between the console and the front passenger seat. The rubber mats weren't even wiped down... apparently that's extra! The only reason I didn't give one star was because the employees were super friendly, which I always appreciate! read more

I took my new car in on March 9, 2014 and their brushes scratched it pretty badly. They have a detail shop so I figured they'd just buff it out and I'd be on my way...instead the manager denied they did it and called me a jerk. Stay away from this place - they are absolutely horrible. read more

Apparently if it's a hot day, as summer's in Iowa usually are, the car wash employees can only wipe the dirt off your car half-ass. I came home and had to vacuum more and wipe off windows and dust from my dash. Those who say 'you get what you pay for' are completely wrong in this instance .... for almost $30, I would at least expect no dust on my dash....lesson learned. read more

If all you want is a quick vacuum, partially clear windows and a rinse. Please...go here. But if you want any mud washed off the underbody, don't waste your time. Now I'm talking about the kind of mud you get when driving past some road construction with water on the pavement. We aren't talking about mud running in a pick up. Also, the "tire shine" is a joke, just buy the cheapest wash here. Unless you buy a full detail, you won't get much in the way of clean. The only value comes from getting a re-wash if it rains. 30 bucks later, I still had to buy actual tire shine, (even though it was supposedly included in my purchase.) I'll need to wash the rest of the mud off my air dam and wheel wells, clean and polish the rims, wipe down my interior. So all in all, I still didn't even save any time by going here. I'm being generous with the 3 stars. read more

I would not recommend this car wash. They will charge you $15 minimum and really not even clean anything on the inside of the vehicle. I just left there and I have leaves and grass all over the back seat of my car...this after telling them that I was really interested in getting the inside clean and rinsing the salt off my truck from the snow. They didn't clean the dashboard or the console at all. There was no trash in the truck for them to pick up, they simply had to vacuum out the truck and wipe it down. I would definately find another place or just do it yourself. This was my third visit and you can certainly bet there won't be a fourth. read more

They called and said they had my car done 1 1/2 hrs early. Great - or so I thought. Went to pick it up and it was less than what I could had done at home. I was really hoping for the best but was sorely disappointed - it looked like they did not shampoo the interior carpets or upholstery - they looked spot cleaned, so it just looked splotchy. They did shampoo the floor mats and those turned out great. They did not clean around doors and there were spots in the rear hatchback area. When you get your car detailed you expect them to pay attention to the details. I get a better car wash for $20 at Johnny Boys. Just not what I was expecting.... I pointed out all the issues and tried to have them fix some, so I sat around for another 40 mins while the guy tried to make it better. Anyhoo, it wasn't worth the money I ended up paying. This place is horrible- no signs showing where you should go to start wash( we are from out town), attendant was rude (didn't get his name but she had a braid on his chin) and we left. Will look for another car wash. read more

I took my vehicle in to have washed and the two front mats cleaned. After they were done, I went home and parked my SUV in the garage. I came out the next day to run an errand and saw the dent on the driver's side door. Sparkling Image declined to accept responsibility for the damage and yet it wasn't dented before I took it in and didn't go anywhere after having it cleaned there. I have been going to Sparkling Image for years now. I use their services for basic washes as well as detailing once a year. There has never been a time I wasn't treated well. Their employees are professional and always willing to go the extra mile if I ask for a little something extra. I love that they have dog treats for my doggie and the best card selection in town.
