The advertisement stated the truck would be there from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. I arrived around 1:00 PM specifically because of that promotion, only to find that the truck had already left. The staff were polite and explained that the truck decided to leave early because it was a slow day. However, customers should be able to trust advertised event times. In fact, there were several cars at the car wash when I arrived, so it did not appear completely dead. I am giving 3 stars because the car wash itself was okay, but I hope future promotions are better coordinated so customers are not disappointed.

I opted for a $9 soft-touch wash, which includes the wax coat. It took me a bit to figure out how to select my wash, as it required you enter money before you could select the specific wash. After paying, I proceeded into the wash with strong jets that took me by surprise upon immediately entering. After in position, though, the arms went around my car and appeared to not be spraying any water. I was getting a light coating from above, but not along the sides. Shortly after, full soap and jets kicked in, giving my car a good wash, but it is still unclear to me whether or not the arms were working correctly at the start. I'll probably try it again the next time my car needs a wash, but perhaps a cheaper wash level.

The clean towels were not folded or organized, so it was impossible to tell which ones were clean and which were dirty. The cleaning solutions were also completely empty. I went inside the office to ask if they could refill them and saw 2 teenage employees sitting around on their phones. When I asked about the empty cleaning supplies, they gave me a bad look and responded with a very poor attitude. I was actually considering signing up for a membership, but after this experience, there is no chance I will be coming back. The management needs to do a better job maintaining the facility and training employees on customer service and responsibility. Very disappointing experience.

LD Express has a wide variety of merchandise as both a convenience store and hardware store. They…read moredon't give stuff away but their prices are reasonable enough. I did luck out and got some incredible deals on battery cables - they probably had been on the shelf a little while. I needed quite a few for a project and saved some serious dough. I think the food prices are a little on the high side so the only food I buy there is the chicken. Their fried chicken is the best in town and is friggin delicious when fresh. I would recommend buying the lunch chicken early - 11ish and the same thing at supper time - buy early and you'll get really crispy pieces. Gas and diesel prices are on a par with the other stations. One thing I like is that unlike many other stores, LD Express gives free air. It's also HIGH PRESSURE so I can fill the big van tires fast. LD also has a car wash with automatic and manual bays. I prefer to use the manual wash. It works just fine and the cost is reasonable. It is well maintained. On the downside, the store has a utilitarian feel to it - cement floors, dusty, etc. The other convenience stores in the area are brighter, less dusty, and more visually appealing. But when it comes down to buying a screwdriver, a fishing license, and a burger all in one trip, LD has everything covered.
