It had that many years of grim and dirt. They advised on staining, the wood grain and how to accent and show it off. They disassembled, picked the desk up, completely wrapped it in soft quilting and returned it the same. They exercised great care. It looks fabulous and I love how i turned out! All the hinges are now smooth, the locks and drawers smooth. I am want to find something else to have them finish. Earlier in the year i had a number of depression era night tables that I had thought of refinishing also. They advised as to the true quality and wouldn't waste my money on poor quality. I totally appreciated their expertise and their advice. They were wonderful. Made me wish I had paid more attention to all the sanding and staining my Dad tried to teach me as a kid and I refused to listen. It was like listening to him again with their advice and care.

I have an autoimmune disease and got more and more cautious as time went by. First time i met him no one had been vaccinated and he was not wearing a mask. I left the two rockers. They are about 3' tall, 2' wide, 2' deep. Small. He works out of his garage and showed me a room where he was holding finished furniture for people, some for over a year. In a few weeks they called to say they were finished. I said great. I would come when I could as late ng as he'll wear a mask. His wife said he would. Because of COVID fear, my own illness, the illness of a grandchild, he called me 3 months later yelling that I had to come get them they were taking up room. I asked how much and immediately sent him a check paid in full. And it wasn't inexpensive! He yelled at me about leaving the the tiny chairs for 4 months and that he would not do another project I had for him because of that. Very mean tone. I am 65 and am unaccustomed to bring spoken to so rudely. I am very polite. I went to get the chairs. They were perfect. The only reason he got 2 stars. Anyone who is so rude and mean to a customer who just paid him a lot of money for 2 chairs during a time when no one was doing much business, or anytime, is not someone I ever want to do business with again. Adding small tiled bathroom floor on another level was $60 extra but ended up costing me $350 beyond that when they knocked over tray of toiletries; they missed picking up my brand new night guard which was likely sucked up with their cleaning hose. Did nothing to cover their shoes, nor clean as they exited leaving wet footprints on waxed wood floors and just-cleaned tile floor. I had to damp-mop again after their cleaning. Did not clean carpeted stairs, which needed it even more after their soapy, wet shoes and hose left residue. I don't know if they are capable of being more careful and thorough if more advance scheduling is done. Still, they were very good to fit me in for emergency situation -- though rushed as they had other bookings. The carpet area dried well with my own blower on it for 24 hours. Cleaning that right away was my main concern.
