Val at Sparkle Pool is great to work with. When my spa jet motor went out, he helped me with the replacement. Showed up as scheduled and did the work amazingly fast while make sure it was done right and full functioning at the end. All while being fairly priced on parts and labor. He will be my first call the next time I need help with my pool system. read more

I hired Val twice, once to teach me how to operate my pool equipment, walk me through pool maintenance and second time was to upgrade my pool equipment from a single speed pump to a variable speed pump (Aquastar brand). Val hauled away all the old equipment, cleaned the surrounding area and spray painted the old/new equipment black. Val is very trustworthy, I had to work that afternoon so I told him to lock up after he left and when I returned in the evening, the area was clean, gate was locked, and equipment was running. Val is also licensed 927344 so there is no need to be worried. read more

My entire experience with this company has been by far THE BEST I've encountered considering I have tried almost every pool service listed on Yelp when searching in the East Bay. Firstly, when I called, Viral picked up and I told him that I added too much ascorbic acid in attempts to clear up the metal stains on my plaster and my pool turned a nasty swamp green in a matter of a few days and I was desperate to clean it up and get my filter cleaned out before a big pool party. Process was simple and straightforward. Viral requested a few pics, we confirmed price, time and date to fix. When Viral arrived, he showed up exactly when he said he was, explained the process, answered ALL of our questions and truly helped these first time pool owners understand the dynamics of owning a pool. His professionalism and overall knowledge base, and likable personality won us over and now he has a life long customer when it comes to our filter, and practically anything else pool related. Additionally, pricing was very very reasonable considering the service we received. Needless to say, our pool cleared up and actually looks better than it did before the eff up and now we are more confident than ever managing our pool needs. read more

I contacted Sparkle Pool & Spa to get a quote to have my single-speed pool pump replaced with a variable-speed pump. I received a response within minutes of my request. My many questions were answered professionally and quickly. I felt their quotes were very fair and by the replies to my questions, very knowledgeable at what they do. I ended up not hiring them only because my pool guy was able to do the work. Sparkle Pool & Spa was referred to me by a friend who used them and said their work is highly rated. read more

This company services my apartment community here in South Hayward. Little does the pool guy know, I am home and free during his Thursday visits, where I watch him do absolutely nothing at our back pool. Doesn't even get out of his truck for our back pool. In the months, the county's public health team deemed our pool unsafe because of low chlorine levels. Don't put your trust in Sparkle! read more

When we bought our house it came with a Hot tub, knowing nothing about hot tubs I decided to drain it and let it sit until we had time to use. Since I do not have any experience with hot tubs I was looking for someone to re-open my hot tub, you know clean it and balance the chemicals. You would be surprised how many pool and spa people on Yelp won't even quote you! When I reached out to Sparkle Pool and Spa, Viral got back to me within minutes with a reasonable quote! We had to reschedule by a few days due to the weather. Viral not only cleaned and balanced my hot tub. He did a once over of the equipment, gave me recommendations of things I need to do and where to get them. Overall it was a great experience! And Viral was a wealth of knowledge and thought me everything I need to know to maintain my hot tub!! read more

Val responded quickly and was very responsive to our quote for a new pool system including pump, filter, and heater. He answered all my many questions and was not pushy to up sale me. His prices were very reasonable water I shopped around a bit. Once everything was set up and was ready for him to start, he and his partner scheduled and came out and replaced everything in one day. Stayed a bit later to make sure I was set up and ready to use the new system. Highly recommend this company for your pool system needs! read more

Great service! Fixed our pumped without trying to sell us a new unlike the four other companies we tried. Will definitely call again

Val team had maintained my backyard pool for 6 yrs. Appreciate their outstanding work.

My filter valve was leaking and I emailed Viral @ Sparkle Pools on a Sunday. We exchanged some photos of the valve, he troubleshooted the issue remotely, suggested a few options, and I choose a replacement solution - all over email. He then came over 2 days later and installed the new valve within 30min. I've used Sparkle Pool & Spa multiple times for repairs and replacements to my pool equipment. They are consistently high quality and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great pool and spa service read more

I've contacted Val about 3 years ago to show me how to use the pool features at my house that I just bought. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I called him again about a week ago. I had a problem with my pump and sweeper. Val was awesome and fixed my pump and sweeper. I would definitely call Val if I needed anything done with my pool. read more

Had a leaking tube connected to chlorinator. Requested for a quote and got a quick response. Val and Himanshu arrived on time and repaired. Price was reasonable. Followed up with me the next day to check if there's any issue regarding the repair. Reliable and good service. I highly recommended these guys. read more

Prettay, prettay, prettay, pretty good. Great, in fact. Val's been cleaning our pool for about 3.5 years now, and you really don't even have to think about it. Whether you're home or not, everything about your pool is taken care of. It's honestly never dirty, and I can take a swim whenever I want. Once, after a lightning storm, there was a ton of debris in the pool. I called Sparkle, and they came in a couple of hours as they were in the neighborhood, and cleaned it right up. Anyway, the point is, again, that you don't have to worry. They don't scent the pool with jasmine or stock your bar, but that's not what pool cleaners do. I recommend these guys. read more

Really satisfied with Viral's work ! He is very thorough with the work and gives honest suggestions, glad that I found him through Yelp

Viral helped me to install a new bump, filter and timer, and cleaned my messy pool last year. He's very knowledgeable, and the price is reasonable. His work is definitely in high quality. My pool has been running for a year and no issue at all. Highly recommended ! read more

I asked questions about my yellow stains in my pool.i have received good information and tips from owner right after my post.

This company is just awesome! After I moved into my new rental house I found that the pool pump wasn't working (as well as the heater) I thought it would be really expansive repair since the equipment looked really old. I called this company and they were able to schedule me for 2 days later since it was the weekend. Monday morning came and they were at my door first thing in the morning, a quick diagnostic found that one of my valve was the issue, very honest people that does not go around the bush, The repair price was very reasonable! They were back later that day with the part and did an excellent job!! Thank you for guys for doing such a wonderful job on my pool I will defiantly use you again! read more

We have been using Sparkle for over a year. They completely neglect our spa despite constantly asking them for service and our pool gets minimum cleaning. Don't waste your good money on them- hire someone better! read more

Excellent company. Val installed new variable speed pump and cartridge filter system to replace my old single speed pump and DE filter system. Pool has never looked better. I called Val and explained what i was looking for, and within minutes he provided recommendation and pricing. His pricing is very reasonable, includes top of the line equipment, and he does not try to up sell you what you do not need. He had equipment the next business day, and did install the day after that. He really takes the time to explain how the equipment works, and advice on what settings to use during summer and off-season. This is as good as customer service can get! read more

The reason why I chose Sparkle Pool & Spa was that Val seemed very knowledgeable about the pool pump system and even offered to help fill out the PG&E rebate for the pool pump I had chosen. Val came over today to change my pool pump because I thought it had gone bad due to the circuit breaker tripping each time I turned it on. Val did some quick electrical diagnostics and figured out that my circuit breaker was tripping because of the pool light (water was visible in the pool light cover). He disconnected the pool light and turned on the pump...it worked! He saved me a ton of money. He's as honest as they come. I highly recommend Sparkle Pool & Spa...I will call Val for all my pool repair needs and you should too! read more

I was really giving up hope on finding a pool service company that will actually return my phone call or show up on time. I was so impressed that this company was so professional right from the start and was so knowledgable. They were patient with my questions and helped us install a pool pump. I felt I can really trust their suggestions. Thanks! read more

We purchased a new motor from Leslies, only to be confused when we tried to install it ourselves. Upon calling Leslies for support we found out that they do not even service our area (Newark, ca). Anyway, I checked local reviews and found Sparkle. We called and Val was at our house within minutes to give us some valuable guidance. It was a huge relief for us and we are so thankful for Val's prompt response read more

I really liked my interaction with Viral and his brother. I found Viral from Yelp for installing a new variable speed Pentair pump (he is an authorized technician to install Pentair pumps, and you need someone authorized to get warranty from Pentair) and a huge 725 sq ft filter from Hayward. He was quite prompt and professional in his response during the purchase process and kept me updated about the status of the equipments. He also promptly installed the pump and filter as soon as he got them. In my opinion he exceeded my expectation in several areas: 1. In prompt communication, and very friendly and professional installation 2. I requested him to install the equipments in front of me, if possible, as I was very curious to learn about the installation process. He accommodated that! 3. During installation I was continuously harassing him with gazillion noob questions, and he was very patiently answering those 4. It was raining and he asked me if it's ok to delay the installation until rain stops. As I had to go to office, I asked him if it's possible to install under an umbrella. He accommodated that with a very friendly face. 5. My pool sweeper was not working, and he fixed that even though that was not part of his work 6. He noticed that my previous shut-off valve was not working properly, and it also lacks one additional shut-off valve and he again went out of his way to replace those 7. His final installation looks really professional and aesthetically pleasing (he reorganized previous equipment locations to accommodate that) However, I would like to mention his service is slightly more expensive than others! I had to pay about 10% extra on the pump and filter installation (about $200). I also would like to mention that previously my pool water turned green and I asked for a quote from him and because his quote was high, I didn't give him that work. This time, reading other yelp reviews, and given the fact that pump and filter are long time investment, I went ahead and paid the 10% premium. I consider it money well spent. And I am saying that from my past experience with other pool company who cleaned the green water. read more

Another one excellent job done. Two weeks ago, Val installed a new pump for my Polaris 280 sweeper, things works great afterward. He also helped me check my pool conditions ...and all better now. read more

Val is good, Changed out my old pump to a variable, get a PGE rebate and save tons of $ on energy! Also Upgraded my pump and my pool water is crystal clear with minor amount of time and energy on my part (unlike before). Finally he rewired a real bad electrical post and attached it to the house the way it should have been. Overall couldn't be happier, great products, service, and price. read more

I bought this home in Hayward/Castro Valley area with a huge pool. Had less idea of its condition and on going maintenance. I have used several pool service companies over the last 8 years. Sparkle is the best, by far, of the services I have used. They are always on time, their prices are right and they do quality work. Viral has been servicing my pool for several years while I had tenants. He's knowledgable, friendly, and quick to respond. He really knows what he's talking about and answers all my questions. He's helping keep my pool clean and we're working on upgrading the system to a less chlorine dependent system now that I'm moving back in with my little ones. Highly recommended. No need to look elsewhere for pool related service! read more

I used them for pool service for 1 year. Service started out decent but he was non responsive. He would take weeks to respond to my calls or emails. I expected better service from a pool guy. Pricing is also higher than other companies. Definitely would not recommend Val for pool service. Find someone else who is more reliable and responds to customers within a reasonable time. read more

This is a great company...I had them fix the pipe for my pump about a 6 months ago and recently it started leaking and then broke. The service guy came over that night and stayed till 7:00 to fix it then followed with me the next day to make sure everything was ok, there was still a minor leak he was there again that night and got it fixed...works great. Things happen but its how you respond when they do that counts and they did great read more

We've had our pool equipment replaced by them about a half year ago. Not only was their bid very reasonable but the recommendation of a great cleaner head and the right filter, and a very well done job deserves our thumbs up. But wait, beyond the initial job the customer service that follows is the best in class. They have been very responsive to some issues that we've gone through in the rough fall and winter seasons. We've been able maintain the pool ourselves - we are first timers! So the FIVE STARs are well deserved. read more

I hired them to maintain my pool for over three years. I am satisfied with their service. Viral is very responsible and knowledgeable. He comes to my house on time and replies to my calls & texts immediately. If the pool has any problem, I can just give him a call. He will come to check it and solve problems ASAP. Once he found my pool was leaking, he referred a leaking detection company that solved the problem at a fair price. I really appreciate it. If you want to find a good pool service, just contact them. They will give you a problem free pool. read more
