I had a mani/pedi here, and it was a solid salon. What I liked best about it was it seemed clean and had good ventilation. The lady doing my pedicure was thorough and gave a nice massage. The price seemed reasonable/average. My manicure didn't last as long as I had hoped, but that is likely due to my wear and tear. I was visiting my mom and needed my nails done badly. Decided to go here based on the other reviews. I first got a pedicure. I wasn't impressed. The lady who painted my nails did a very sloppy job. It was obvious, I had nail polish all over my skin. I asked her to fix it. I guess I can appreciate the fact that she didn't give me an attitude. I just don't understand how nail techs think they can get away doing a half ass job. Anyways onto my fill. Tony is fricken awesome. Even though it was a tad bit busy he took his time. He was also very friendly and we made great conversation. I paid $15 for a fill plus an extra $10 for gel color. NEVER AGAIN I just went In 9/2 Labor Day cause they were the only nail salon open. I walked in and asked if they can do a certain type of nails an he I think Tony mumbled something I couldn't hear. I proceeded talking, So I just wanted to make sure I don't get my nails done and be disappointed after. So I make my self very clear I want a fill and whoever can do coffin I prefer them, he's like everyone's good at everything, I was so nice cause I wanted them to be the same but I got attitude an head nods from whoever was doing my nails station #4 cause of the color of my powder or whatever cause he didn't even explain anything to me. So after enough head nods I respectful say "ok let's just fix my broken nails (2) and paint my others clear since you don't think you can achieve this" I was making this easy. Cut the fill/rebase out, fix broke nails and paint my others clear. After all said an done. I paid $16.20 for 2 nails an clear gel. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. All they did was talk amongst themselves and make no interaction with the guest, ONLY the regulars I noticed very clear they made it seem like they only serve the best. I first called to ensure they had availability and was told to arrive in 20 minutes. When I arrived they were not ready and very much overwhelmed as there were only 3 technicians. At first I was patient and understood and was happy to wait while my feet soaked for my pedicure. The pedicure portion was pretty nice so that is why they are receiving 2 stars. The gel manicure was a totally horrendous experience. I needed my old gel removed and the technician was so harsh while removing it that 3 of my finger's cuticle bled. She paid no mind to it and kept rushing along as others entered the shop. She was quick to respond to them that she only needed 20 minutes and she would be finished with me. Her husband then showed up and distracted her and the other 2 nail technicians making it even worse. I asked for a French gel manicure and she filed my nails too thin, then only put 1 coat of gel and 1 top coat of gel. My nails started breaking/ ripping off 3 days later and are still so brittle that they continue to break. Come to find out multiple technicians were on vacation that day. I was so honored to spend the New Year with my good friends at Sparkle Nails. There was awesome food, amazing company and I got a beautiful new design done on my nails. I just LOVE my friends here, they're like family to me. This time I got "Cat Eye" nails and I was blown away at how this effect works! My daughter got hologram nails, which are sooooo pretty. Went to Sparkle for the first time today! Safe to say I finally found my nail place in Albuquerque! Nicole is such a sweet person and so is her staff. I got the dip-powder finish on my nails...it's kind of a new thing and lasts way longer than gel in my opinion. Perfect for work in the hospital where frequent hand washing and hand sanitizer is needed. For me it lasts at least a month and a half. It does NOT chip like at allllllll. The nails look decent but not worth the uncomfortable feeling during and afterwards. Even hours after being done, I am very sore and small cuts on almost every cuticle and side area. While the people are very friendly and made efforts to be accommodating they were very much lacking in skill. It took forever for me to get a French manicure with crystals added. It took three different manicurists to do it and they still did not do a great job. My mom also got a manicure with gel nail polish and it chipped in two days. I do my nails as a hobby and my skill surpassed the skills of my manicurists. If you want a simple color then they can do it. If you want something more I suggest finding a more skillful place. read more

Owner upset because I don't spend a lot of money by only getting a rebase with clear polish. Tech distracted by customers walking in and just walked away from my service to help someone else when I wasn't fully finished. And then has the nerve to tell me I make her uncomfortable, that I get the cheapest service and reminded me she has been doing nails for 18 years. I explained to her i dont always have the money for a full nail make over and besides, i like my natural nail with only clear polish. I went back twice in case the first time was just a 1 off, only to have the manager tell me off after she asked me if the shape was good and I said no. I came in from California for my "nephew's " wedding. I used to have an amazing nail artist here who did wonderful intricate work that lasted a very long time. She moved back to her country and I have not found anyone comparable. Nicole and her crew at Sparkle nails did an amazing job!! The shop was clean and nicely set up. I gave Nicole an idea of what I wanted, beyond that, I let her do what she wanted. I told her I love bling and used to get a lot, but most shops charge for each stone. ( my former nail artist had flat rates) She did not charge for the extra stones since I gave her free reign and we had a bit of a wait. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is because the ring finger was a little off. The double cat eye effect requires black polish first, the ring finger did not get cat eye effect so probably shouldn't have had black polish underneath. It completely changed the color of the top coat polish. It is a purple with green and gold color changing undertones. My mom and I went to get two new sets here. A lady named Nicole did my set. She did a great job by the way. However the man that did my moms nail was a little rude. First, My mom was seated in a broken chair she mentioned over three times she was uncomfortable and something was wrong with the chair. The man didn't even offer her another chair so she was uncomfortable the whole time. Second she asked for ombré nails and he did solid pink on her instead. He was also very rough with her hands and used alcohol at the end. I told him that it's not right and he disagrees overall he didn't listen. Had better experiences elsewhere. read more

My daughters and I love Sparkle. They have a wonderful atmosphere. Clean chairs and sanitized equipment. Their massage chairs are wonderful and all the techs so far have been great. Anthony is our favorite by far. They have reasonable prices, a great location, and are always friendly. The also offer waxing services, along with nails. My husband and I had an appointment for 1 mani pedi and one full set of gel and another pedi. My husband's tech absolutely destroyed his cuticles. His toes are in so much pain still , two days later. I stated we wanted the basic pedi and that is what we got , but charged for the deluxe. There was one tech who seemed to run the place . She was fantastic. I watched as she fixed almost everything that went wrong with the other techs clients. Such a shame. We definitely will never go back nor recommend anyone to their salon. $135 and my nails even look wretched. I am a ty sorry for the bad review it it is what it is. Went to this place because I read the positive reviews. This place was anything but. The lady that did my pedicure was great very gentle and got the job done. The man that did my new acrylic full set, was the exact opposite. Not only did he take 2.5 hours I asked for coffin shape and received an almond shaped nail. I asked for marble and received grey all over my nail that looked like a tree branch, i asked him to do a different design and got a gold on white nail tip. Horrible. The dip is chunky not evened out what so ever. Not to mention while he was attempting to cut my nail in a coffin shape took a decent chunk of nail and skin off my pinky fingernail. I received a gift card from here, so I went to try it out. I was welcomed which was very nice . I started receiving my pedicure which I notice the person had to be new since it seem like they didn't know what they were doing . She honestly did a great job shaping my toes since I asked her for them to be squared" honestly best shape I have ever had and I'm very happy about that but since I'm sure she was new she didn't know what Products were supposed to be used she put something under my feet that made them very dry and it hurts . They even called me from the salon to let me know that she did it wrong and that I should go wash my feet which I did but I think it was too late and now they're very dry and it hurts . I also paid about $52 with tax because I got the "better pedicure " . Since my cellus are already bad I expected the person to remove some of it but she didn't . I've gone to other places and paid less and receive more than the time that I paid more and didnt seem like I got a special treatment Also, when I was getting the massage she was using the water instead of a lotion to massage me. read more

Here's the icing on the cake while being pampered: the family of Tommy, the male technician, showed up after closing hour and I got to watch the interaction between those Vietnamese friends. Much similarity to Chinese culture, the hostess offered treats to Tommy's daughter, who politely declined at first; hostess Nicole insisted, daughter accepted with thankful remarks... OMG. This is the most ghetto nail place ever. I asked a friend who she uses because I was shopping around, so I tried it. I wanted to leave when the water wouldn't get warm and had random stuff floating around. I wanted to leave when the nail tech pulled out her busted file coated with the dust of a thousand toenails. I REALLY wanted to leave when she cut my toe and made it bleed. The paint job looked okay when I left, but I immediately went home and coated my nails with Neosporin. No one should feel the need to disinfect as soon as they get home. No one should feel like they need to get vaccinated before visiting. Next time I see my friend, I'll grab her by the shoulders and tell her she has other options. Good God. read more

The worst salon in Albuquerque. I got an infection on my feet that had to get part of my nails removed by a foot specialist which was so painful and long recovery. The salon is clean, and the technicians are nice, but this is not quality work. I got the deluxe pedicure, but my heels are still cracked and calluses are not totally gone. I got a gel manicure and within hours of leaving on of my nails had already chipped. I went back and they did fix it, but by the end of the next day the clear layer was peeling off every nail, by day 3 the polish was cracking like cooled lava on all but 2 nails, and now on day 4 the cracks are so bad they are starting to chip. I'm not sure if it is the off-brand polish they are using, or defective uv lights, but in the 5+ years I've been getting gel manicures this is definitely a first. I'm disappointed I paid $65 last weekend, and am now going to get it all redone somewhere else this weekend. read more

I have tried a ton of nail salons in the city and I'm so glad I found Sparkle Nails. I drive all the way over from the west side just to get a pedicure here. Every employee is super friendly and every one does an excellent job. Usually my basic polish pedicure lasts several weeks. They get super busy on the weekends, with good reason because they rock, so I suggest making an appointment if you plan on coming on the weekend. They also offer free wifi which is an added bonus. Didn't listen to anything I wanted and was trying to hurry and kept smuggling the gel too coat because he was going too fast. I asked for short, round nails and got long square ones that are uneven and bumpy. The bigger lady with a Karen hair cut was rude too, she works at the front. I felt very rushed and terrible quality.
