Mike watched my cat Eddie for a couple of days and he was fantastic! Throughout the entire process, from booking to afterwords, he was extreme communicative and clear. I loved the daily check-ins with detailed updates on Eddie and especially the pictures and videos he included! When I got home, everything looked great, no mess and the litter box was clean, and Eddie was very happy. Mike will definitely be my go-to in the future when I need someone to watch my cat! read more

Mike is the BEST! He has taken care of our fur-boys for the past few years and is always great! He checks on them, feeds them, plays with them, and sends me email updates with photos every day! This last vacation I had forgotten to get more cat litter before our trip and Mike went out of his way to go get more and replace it making my life so much easier when I returned! I feel so comfortable and never have to worry about the cats when we are on vacation with Mike! I highly recommend hiring him! read more

Mike was fantastic! So professional, caring, organized and overall fantastic. We were gone for over two weeks, and our 3 cats were well adjusted and calm upon our return. He was easy to communicate with and his excellent care of our cats made it easier to enjoy our time away. Highly recommend! read more

Mike took care of our senior cat for a week and was excellent, highly organized, and communicative. Our cat has lots of GI and bowel issues and medications to take, which Mike handled with no issue. I'm giving 5 stars bc he went above and beyond with thoughtful little details that made our lives better, like helping us take our trash bins in, building a little hideout for our cat, and throwing our litter in our exterior trash can instead of our interior trash can (so that we didn't have to carry out a week's worth of litter). Can't recommend him enough. read more

A Note From #MaxTheCat: Meow! Like most of my feline friends, I tend to be very picky and selective in life. And when my human caretakers decided to leave me for a few days, Mike of Sparkle Cat Sitting was a wonderful replacement to serve me with the care and nurturing I have become accustomed to as the sole feline of this home. He paid me the respect that is deserving of all felines of the world, and made sure I as properly taken care of...and well fed of course. If my caretakers happen to leave me again, (I pity the reaction they will need to deal with!), I would welcome Mike back into my home to serve and care for me anytime. Meow for now! #MaxTheCat #SanFranciscoCA read more

Sparkle Cat Sitting - One of these days, I'll figure out how to start this thing and get rolling out of here! #Meow - Pet Sitting Near Me

Mike is a total pro. It was his first time watching our (7-year old) kitty, who is normally fairly open to folks. Alas, not so quick... he avoided Mike and even yowled in separation anxiety from us (or so we'd like to think), and Mike did everything right: patiently waiting for our cat to he ready, using some tricks to help and updating us along the way. And, he prevailed: our cat was love-rubbing him bu the end. Achievement unlocked! We totally trust Mike with him! read more

Sparkle kitty is the best. He's attentive and kind in the care of our two pets, sends informative updates which allows us to have peace of mind while away from our cats. We can't recommend him enough! read more

We were a little nervous leaving our just over 1 yr old cat at home alone overnight. But we felt so much better having Mike drop by and the reports/photos he sent each day were very reassuring. Mike is very thorough with feeding schedule also. I was impressed by his organization and attention to detail. We were very happy with Sparkle Cat services and will definitely use again. Thanks Mike! read more

Sparkle Cat Sitting - photo from Mike! - Pet Sitting Near Me

Just had Mike come by this last week. Got daily updates through email along with pictures and videos of my kitty. I was referred to Sparkle Cat by another cat sitting company that didn't work in my area. He came over to meet Olive before my trip to see where everything was so he was ready when he came by. Payment was easy and was easy to get ahold of. Will definitely have again for my next trip! ‍ read more

Mike is incredible - he's super responsive, great with my cat, and overall goes above and beyond before/during/after his visits. I always feel at ease when I'm traveling knowing Mike is watching my cat. It usually takes awhile for her to warm up to new people, but she liked Mike immediately! read more

Mike has been taking care of my cats for a year and half now. He always responsive to emails, helps out on short-notice, sends detailed daily reports with pictures, and, you can tell, loves his work! Mike is an excellent cat sitter. He took great care of our 9 month old kitties while we were away for an extended weekend. He was super professional, sent thoughtful updates, and knows his way into a feline heart. Our girls got quality play time, and we think they are still looking for him every time someone has come to the door this week . These are some of the pictures he shared of them being sweet with him. We will definitely hire Mike again! read more

Mike is one of the best cat sitters I have ever had! He is great with my cat, who usually dislikes strangers, but she somehow seems to like him. Mike is very accessible and easy to get in touch with, and he sends detailed email updates every day that you're gone. He's also really observant and knowledgeable about cats in particular and has a lot of great tips about which toys and play time activities my cat liked best while I was gone. I especially appreciate how thorough and professional Mike is. He thinks of and prepares for every possibility, making sure there are multiple key copies, an emergency contact, that you've made it home safely, etc. There's absolutely nothing left for me to worry about when I leave for my trip! read more

So happy to be still working with Mike. He's so easy to schedule with and he is extremely thoughtful. My cat has a rather intensive drug routine and Mike handled it with grace. He also writes the best update emails so I know my fluff is taken care of when I'm out of town. Highly recommend. He's my go-to when I'm traveling. read more

Mike is a fantastic cat sitter. Even though we only need him once or twice a year, he remembers our kitty! He updates us each day, which is really nice since our Lucy is a scaredy cat and usually hides from visitors. He even got her to come out of hiding for him this time! We have complete confidence that our little friend will be very well taken care of while we are gone--and that's the best recommendation I think a cat sitter can have! read more

We love hiring Mike to take care of our cat when we're away. The service is professional and reliable. He sends daily updates with photos. He also has helpful recommendations for general cat care. We look forward to hiring him again! read more

I can't say enough about Mike Hogan. He is fabulous with our cats and they love him in return. He provides full cat sitter service. He feeds them, keeps their water filled and cleans the litter box. Best of all, he interacts with them daily. He has brought toys with fresh catnip, giving the cats hours of pleasure even after he has gone home. Our cat's favorite new toy is the one that Mike brought during our last trip away. Mike will also take out the garbage, pick up the mail and water the plants. We used to send the cats to a cat hotel, but never again. They are happier at home. read more

Simply put, Mike is the best. Very professional and takes his job seriously, but still makes time to be playful with our cats. He sends very thoughtful daily updates with pictures so we can rest easy knowing our cats are safe and happy. He immediately built a report with them and they seem so happy in his care. He is also incredibly responsive and reliable, which is so important when you are leaving your fur babies with someone. We are so glad we found Mike's service and already booked him for a second trip before we had even finished our one because we were so happy with service! Do yourself a favor and book Mike when you are out of town. You'll appreciate the peace of mind knowing your cats are so well looked after. read more

We have worked with Mike and his wife Bella for a few years now and we feel so fortunate to have found them. Our cat, Sprout, has feline asthma and we feel so much more at ease having Mike and Bella visit with her while we are out of town. Not only are they wonderful about sending daily updates with pictures and videos, they clearly lift Sprout's spirits with their visits and they help take care of a few tasks around our home as well when we are away. We could not recommend them more, especially for cats that may have medical needs or may need extra love and affection. read more

Mike is an amazing cat sitter. He is truly a professional, very well organized, communicative, and timely. He goes above and beyond. So nice to have a sitter that checks in on our cats and even sends us detailed emails with pictures. Highly recommend. read more

Mike is the best! I don't have to worry about my cat at all when I'm away (which used to be a stressor when having friends do the job). I also don't have to worry about a key exchange every time since he has a copy for himself now. I really love the check-ins every time he visits with pictures / videos of my little maniac and overall peace of mind. read more

We just came back today and I have to give a shout out to Sparkle Cat Sitting and to Mike. It was our first time using Mike's service. He made it all so easy and I appreciated not only his attention to details but also all the care he gave to our cat. He was flexible when I needed him to cat sit for a few more days than I had planned. For the next 7 days, he updated us with news, photos, and videos of his time with our Blaze. It really made us feel thankful that Mike was there. If you are looking for someone to trust with your pet without a doubt, Mike and his service is the way to go. read more

Mike did a wonderful job caring for our cat when we were out of town. Prior to our departure, he asked detailed questions that showed that he takes his job seriously and prepares for every scenario. While we were gone, he sent daily updates with photos and videos, which we loved, and he went above and beyond to successfully gain the trust of our skittish cat. Also, he is very responsive and organized. We feel secure leaving our furry friend in Mike's capable hands, and highly recommend him to others! read more

I used Mike as my cat sitter for about a year before I moved away from San Francisco. He is a unique blend of super professional and phenomenal with animals. Booking with him was always a breeze: he's super responsive, flexible with scheduling, and followed through on everything. He emails updates with pictures and/or videos of your cats each time he visits them and he clearly cares about their well-being. My 2 cats were always so calm and clearly well cared for when I returned from being gone. The peace of mind of having someone like Mike watching my cats while I was gone was priceless. Thanks so much for keeping my cats happy and healthy in my absence! I wish I could transport you down to LA! read more

Fantastic cat sitting service. Mike went way above and beyond to care for my non-social cat while I was away for Thanksgiving. He made/organized cat forts, kitty perchs and treat treasure hunts on top of all the usual cat care tasks. It's Sparkle Cat Sitting all the way for me now. Thanks Mike!!! read more

just purely the best! Mike is a wonderful cat sitter not only when he is scheduled but he even checks on after his work is done that we are back and cats are under care. he is full of resource and recommendation as well. super professional but at the same time, you know he CARES! True animal lover and you would know your beloved fur babies are under good care. read more

Mike goes above and beyond. He takes amazing care of our cat and sends detailed emails and pictures every day. He is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. We have a difficult cat and feel very grateful that we can trust Mike to care for her. read more

Amazing! I booked Mike rather last minute to check in on my two cats during my vacation, after a neighbor's commitment fell through. Mike responded to my request immediately, and was able to come over for an orientation within 24 hours. His initial response to me included a thorough list of relevant questions which anticipated any unlikely crises, such as the vet info, whether they had any allergies etc. He was so well prepared he even asked what cleaning product I preferred should there be any "accidents". After every visit, he sent me an email (with pictures!) just to keep me in the loop and let me know they were okay. Generally, when I go on vacation, I am accosted by my cats when I return. That they barely noticed my presence shows me that they were well loved in my absence. I have had a handful of cat sitters over the years, and none have shown the commitment or care of Sparkle. My HIGHEST recommendation!! read more

Fantastic. Our cats love Mike. He sends regular photos with updates. He's professional and reliable, and his rates are reasonable. We can relax and enjoy our trips knowing our pets are in the best hands. We've worked with Mike for several months, will continue to do so, and recommend him unreservedly. read more

Mike has sat for my two kitties multiple times, and I always know that when I leave them in Mike's hands, they will be well cared for. He has always been incredibly reliable, communicative, and professional. Before his first sit, he took the time to come and meet the cats, and carefully took notes on all my (many) instructions. It was clear from this first visit that Mike truly has a love for animals. Mike has gone above and beyond during every sit. He always follows my instructions to a T, plays with the cats daily, cleans up "little messes" when they occur, and sends daily photos or even videos of our pets - a nice extra reassurance that things are ok. He will even water your plants/pick up mail if you'd like. Plus his rates are very reasonable, especially for the Bay Area. I will absolutely be relying on Mike and his excellent services for my future cat-sitting needs. read more

This was my boyfriend & I's first time hiring a pet sitter to feed our two sphynxes while we were on vacation. At first I was worried... giving someone the responsibility to take care of our 2 babies was hard & I was worried! That being said, Mike couldn't have done a better job. He was punctual, detail oriented, & even switched the time of a visit last minute because I wanted to him to check out my kitten's eye. I was so happy my cats were able to be fed a raw meat meal when Mike would feed them, & it was very reassuring receiving photos & videos of our boys every single visit. I will absolutely be hiring Mike again & would recommend him to anyone needing a pet sitter in San Francisco. read more

I can't say enough good things about Mike, and my cats agree. If you normally will round up friends or neighbors to watch your cats, treat yourself -- hiring a professional is definitely worth the money, and Mike is definitely the right professional for the job. From first contact, Mike is immediately responsive. You start by filling out a questionnaire that is well thought out and clearly indicates that when he is watching your cats he'll be prepared for anything, from secondary contacts to where a carrier is located. After the form, Mike comes for a house visit. One of my boys is fairly shy with new people, but immediately took to Mike, and Mike did a great job of paying attention to them and not just going over where food and everything is located. While gone, Mike will send an update every few days -- you are gone, and part of that is a little vacation from pet responsibilities, so it is nice to not have an update every day but reassuring to have one every few. When you get home, you'll find your house has been well taken care of, is neat and tidy, the litter box clean. If you need anything else, just ask! Things like, "there is food that may expire while I'm gone so if you want anything please use it" and you'll arrive to find he's made sure there is nothing expired in you fridge even if he didn't use it. My only issue was once that Mike was getting married and wasn't available to watch my cats. Sadness ensued! :-) Happily he's married now so that inconvenience won't repeat! Also, mention Dr Who or Burning Man and you'll have some great conversations with Mike. read more

We hired Mike for 3 weeks while we were vacationing in Europe. Not only did Mike feed our two cats, but he played with them, made sure both were okay on every visit (one of our cats has a tendency to hide under the bed). He changed their litter box and took out the garbage. He also brought in our mail, watered our backyard plants, AND cleaned our kitchen and wiped down the counters! Our house is slightly outside SF city limits, so it was an extra effort for Mike to drive to our house for each visit. Needless to say, Mike went above and beyond his catsitting duties. Our kitties are very grateful and so are we! Mike is definitely recommended for everyone's cat-sitting needs in the Bay Area! read more
