I can no longer recommend this company. My appointment time changed and I was not notified. The owner of the company told me "We do not guarantee a time, we only guarantee a day for your service. We do the best we can to advise all the clients about changes to the schedule. Sadly, some days we drop the ball and forget, it is never intentional." I was also told I am also not their only client, and when I ask to "change [my] availability, it creates chaos in the schedule and causes issues." There system is also "completely automated" so there is NO personal customer service. read more

I am 80 and a caregiver to my husband. So I need help to keep up with cleaning the apartment. Sparkle and Sheen has been terrific for more than a year now. They come once a month. The cleaners are quiet and pleasant, and most importantly, skilled and well trained. And, I receive a seniors rate on the bill. This service is saving my life. read more

I would never recommend this cleaning service to anyone. The owner seems nice upfront....most narcissists do. The owner claimed to have cleaned areas that were not cleaned. The cleaners shared that the owner refuses to pay them and treats them poorly. It's unfortunate that people get away with that behavior. read more

I first found out about Sparkle and Sheen through a radio station in Edmonton called KiSS 91.7. I googled them but did not find much reviews on the company but decided to give them a chance as they were listed on the website for a radio station I listen to. I reached out to Raquel the owner of the company. I was going to list my house for sale and the real estate agent was coming to take pictures so I asked them to do an overall house clean. Raquel quoted me $150.00 for the clean and we don't leave until everything is done. So Raquel sent two girls over to clean my house as she was on holidays. The day they were supposed to show up they went to the wrong house ended up in Sherwood Park when I live in Edmonton. No one bothered to call me so I texted Raquel and she said they were there and described the house they were at and it was not my home. So as you can see this already annoyed me as I made arrangements for my daughter to be home when they came. I had to reschedule my appointment with my real estate agent for later as the girls came the next day. They called me after two hours and said they are not done but can they leave as they were only scheduled in for 2 hours and have two other houses to clean. When I came home from work my floors were not mopped, bathroom light fixtures were not dusted, bathroom shower door was not cleaned on the outside, etc. My ledges on the windowsill I had cleaned before they came and I am not sure what they did but they left all this white stuff on it. The main concern was my kitchen and bathrooms. The rest of the house I had cleaned and vacuumed myself before them coming. My husband had said for me to stop cleaning as it is there job to do. The worker told Raquel that my house was very dirty which is very hard for me or anyone who knows me for it to be in that condition. I was very disappointed afterwards and told Raquel I would not pay for the whole amount as the service was not done. Don't get me wrong but the kitchen was done very well. She got very angry with me and said a lot of hurtful things such as in her words "you think it is fair for me to pay my staff to clean your pigsty?" I have never in my life had a company owner say these things to me for example I know where you work and live trying to threaten me. I am sure hoping she knows where I live because her workers came here to clean. She told me they clean million dollar homes and have over 200 clients which is very strange because I could not find much reviews on her company. The only ones are on her website which for sure she is only going to post the good ones. She also told me that one of her workers accidently dropped a gold earring in the toilet and had to replace that as well at a different house. I have all the texts and posts saved if anyone wants to see the evidence which I will try and add to this review. The pictures I am posting is "after" pictures. After she sent my invoice to collections and upped the price as well. So would I recommend this company NO...NEVER. Not professional at all!!! If your house is not super clean don't bother calling them to get it cleaned because they care more about cleaning it super fast and making the money to move onto the next house. I have also tried to find this company on Better Business Bureau to file a complaint but interestingly they do not come up. After writing my review Raquel the owner of the company reached out to me again on Facebook messenger and wrote: Raquel sent Today at 7:55 PM January 3, 2021 Thanks you for the Yelp Review lol! Good luck getting a loan of any sort as you have been reported to collections! read more

Hands down one of the worst experiences with a small business. I scheduled a move out clean nearly a month ago and at the time of booking I shopped around and ultimately went with this company because I felt they offered the package. Leading up to the appointment, they were communicative - sending confirmation emails, reminder emails and texts etc. My appointment was at 12pm and so I arrived at my old apartment at 11:30 to take out any remaining items of trash etc. I waited in my car for a while and then finally at 1pm I called and asked for an ETA - no answer. It got to 2pm - so 2 hours after they were meant to arrive. No answer or message to let me know what's going on and also my calls to them were going unanswered. Finally after waiting 2 and a half hours, I finally get a call from their dispatcher letting me know the cleaners are 5 mins away. Not good enough, I'd already wasted 2.5 hours waiting for them with no communication or apology and at this point I'd also started to head back home unsure if they were even planning to come or not. As I headed back over to the old apartment around 2.45pm. I received a call from the owner - Raquel, threatening to send the cleaners on to another job if I didn't hurry back. No apology for being so late, no apology for the total lack of communication and no apology for completely messing up my schedule for the day. What's more, when I tried to explain that after waiting so long with no communication, I had started to head home. She continued to shout at me and threaten to send the cleaners back if I wasn't there by 3pm. Appalled at the total lack of customer service and at this point I had absolutely no faith in their service and so called her back to cancel the clean. Rather than apologise, she told me that she'd already sent the cleaners somewhere else because she didn't want them waiting any longer!! So essentially had I not called her, I would have headed back to the apartment to discover that I'd wasted my journey back because she'd sent the cleaners away?! Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this unprofessional, unreliable company to anyone. Unforeseen delays happen but to expect the customer just sit and wait 2.5 hours with no communication is ridiculous. Do better. read more

I'm not surprised with Ro's horrible experience with Raquel, the owner of Sparkle & Sheen. I experienced similar abuse from her that only stopped when I got the police involved. Who Aaron K. is, is unclear. What is a BDO of a company? I found Raquel, through her post on an Airbnb forum. She claimed to be bonded and have lots of experience managing Airbnb's for owners who are out of the country so I hired her. The very first guest after her team started, complained that there was no toilet paper. That should have been a red flag. I had to ask my neighbour to get toilet paper for the guests. Raquel couldn't be bothered. She failed to mention the shower curtain broke at some point, so guests couldn't shower for several months before I finally found out about it! I hired her to do the lawn maintenance too but that rarely got done, and my reviews suffered because of it and her management. The price she quoted ($25/hr) and has listed on several online platforms, is not what she charged ($35/hr) so I always had to pay more than the cleaning fee I received from guests. When I returned home after 7 months abroad, The ceiling fans had inches of dust cascading down them. The bottom shelf of the coffee table as well. The kitchen cabinets were a disaster inside, how guests were able to find anything is beyond me. My lawnmower was just left in the middle of the yard to freeze in the ice and snow. I had to leave it there until spring. Communication over issues was non existent, other than to demand payment. I had forgotten an expensive jewelry item at the house before going abroad so asked Raquel to take it home for safe keeping until my return. When I returned she said she had put it back in the house long before, but of course it was not there. And why would she do that if I asked her to keep it safe until my return??? Because I withheld her final payment as she didn't do the jobs she was hired for and I wanted my jewelry returned, she came to my door unexpectedly after my return. Due to her threatening demeanour, I asked her to leave and tried to close the door. She broke the door, and knocked me down with such force that I got the wind knocked out of me and bruised a rib. She proceeded to go through my house grabbing things that didn't belong to her and throwing things at me. A kitchen cabinet door was also badly damaged. The police were called and she was told never to trespass on the property again or they would charge her. She seemed professional on first impressions but became the cleaner from hell with her quick to aggression character, verbal abuse and insults. read more

The cleaners at Sparkle and Sheen are wonderful. It is nice to not have to worry about cleaning my house. Now my time can be spent with family and on other projects. Cinnamon did a great job on my house this week. read more
