Prior to selecting…read morethis apartment building as my home, I did a lot of research and visited most available apartments in the area. Trumbull on the Park became my top choice for many reasons; the beautiful updated apartments, prime downtown location, amazing restaurants, and neighborhood area. However the cost to value ratio offered in the building was what sealed the deal; luxury at a reasonable price in a secure environment with connected garage parking (for those rainy and snowy days!)! I wanted a place where as a single young woman I could feel safe walking my dog, have a short walk to work, and experience the renaissance currently occurring in downtown Hartford! One of the best parts about this downtown community is its service and amazing management! They treat you as more than a resident, more like extended family! I mean everyone knows you by first name! I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved immediately or within a reasonable period. The building offers concierges that always go above and beyond and they have the best handy man I've ever encountered in a rental property! Management has always been extremely accommodating and responsive to my needs! Honestly Trumbull on the Park offers the best cost to value ratio in the area, great updated units, but most importantly impeccable service and management!

Also, I had to sleep on the floor my first night, because the leasing office mistakenly said my furniture could be delivered to the package room before I moved in. You are also REQUIRED to give them the keys and let them in or its cause for eviction. Not to mention, the rebuilt apartments are not good quality, the workers cut corners everywhere. You are also REQUIRED to tell them 2 months before the lease is up that youre not resigning or they charge you 20% increases PLUS 250 a month. Giving 2 months notice in this economy is virtually impossible. Especially since the lease says absolutely nothing about them being required to let me know if rent is raising or lowering at that 60 day remaining mark. My biggest frustration is them requiring you to run hot water ALL NIGHT so THEIR pipes dont freeze and then they will not reimburse you. Using my money to save their as*ess from having to repair something. Not to mention i had to reach out 3 times before receiving my lease paperwork. Management never picks up the phone, i will call and no answer. Then 5 seconds later when i walk in the door theyre all just sitting on their computers. Dont let the new shiny counters and "amenities" fool you. Youll pay 2000$ for an apartment slapped together in a month. Also its been two years since that others persons review and the dumpster is still a disgusting mess. The residents dont care, dog poop and pee everywhere too. Literally trash left everywhere next to the dumpster. When going on a tour, they'll tell you that they plow bright and early so there's no need to worry about that, but all they do is the one strip in the road and block your cars in. They never clear out the car spaces so there are mounds of ice in between each car. If none of this matters to you, its a good place to live and its in a good spot. If these things do bother you, look elsewhere

- I DO NOT LIVE HERE -…read more This review is based off the tour I had the other day and will hopefully answer some questions for future residents. Within a week of my tour request, I had 3 different voicemails from 3 different leasing agents trying to schedule with me. Our appointment was at 3pm, and our leasing agent was 10 minutes late. I don't think she ever introduced herself, because I don't remember her name. She also failed to acknowledge my partner and only addressed me. Turns out she's only been with the company for two months. She never asked me for any ID, even though the desk sign said it was required. OK. I gave her my price range and she took us on a golf cart to tour ground level, basic one bedroom. It did look outdated and had carpeted flooring. Then we drove over to see a two bedroom. Neither of the apartments looked like any of the images online. I asked to see the renovated one bedroom that was online. Looked much better, but the price was over $2000/month. False advertising using the basic apartment prices for the updated ones. The application fee is $50 per person. Utilities are NOT included. You have to pay an annual fee for the amenities. There are monthly garbage disposal fees, as well as a monthly $5 admin fee. The leasing agent only told me this because I asked... There are also annual and monthly pet fees PER pet. We were never shown the club house or gym, so I can't speak to that. What I can say is the club house had a boarded up window due to it being broken the day before by kids residing in the complex. The pool looked clean to me. All units have a washer and dryer. Maintenance is based off a work order system, with emergency requests taking priority. Pest control is onsite weekly to maintain the property. There are car ports you can rent for $50/month that have surveillance cameras. We saw some pretty expensive cars on the lot. The leasing agent told us to keep our doors locked. I asked the agent about safety in the area due to the mixed reviews about the complex. She said she knew nothing about the reviews and asked me what I meant. Huge red flag in my opinion. How can you sell a product you haven't researched? Anyways, I told her what I read (that residents mentioned roaches and shootouts) and her only explanation was that a new Jewish management company out of New Jersey (I think) took over a year and a half ago and have been working on changing things. However, old residents from prior management who "let anyone live here" (her words not mine) still reside in the complex. She says they deny many applicants weekly now in order to improve the complex standards. I asked her what the minimum credit score was for acceptance, and she couldn't even answer the question. I can't speak on the minimum requirements for having an application accepted. Overall, this place seemed very, very overpriced. I understand that is the market now, but nothing is included in this complex. It's base rent + everything, even if you don't want to use their amenities. AND you can't guarantee safety? Good luck.

I believe my rent to start was $1150 and the second year it was $1255 for a 1 bedroom. It was quiet during my first year but this year it got louder with more small kids moving in and dogs. The grounds are kept very clean and management lets everyone know when cars need to be moved for plowing, when grass is being treated, when unauthorized non- residents are violating the pool, and on occasion theft. There's assigned parking however, the second yr the newer residents starting parking in my spot a lot and causing me to have dents on my passenger door. The laundry rooms could be a lot better. There's constantly dog hairs/fur in the machines, yuck! However there is a way through an app to alert the company when a machine is malfunctioning which happened sometimes and I swear it's because of all the dog hairs clogging up the system. Unfortunately there is only 2 spots to reload the balance on your laundry card. I had suggested multiple times that all the laundry rooms should be able to have a reload card system. My first year there was an ice cream truck that would come every Friday but the second year that disappeared. Both summers the pool opened up late well after Memorial Day and 4th of July. Then the pool would close early for the season so if you're lucky you might get 6 weeks out of it. The BBQ area is only available on the other side of the complex so bring a Wagon or drive to the BBQ area but then you'll have to travel back to your unit away to use the rest room. Hardly no one uses the basketball court or tennis court and maybe they should consider converting those into BBQ areas as well. The CONS: There are hidden fees and they rush you out the unit even if you tell them you're buying a house and need a few more days or weeks, nope they don't give a damn. They offer to hike your rent up $400, from $1255 to $1600 for no reason. It's not like you're asking for extra square footage. Your lease ends you better find a safe place to sleep in your car or secure an AirBnB.
