It's an awesome alternative to having to go way down into the city for a similar shop, or going all the way out to Pacific Mall or First Markham Place where you have to camp for a parking space and play rat in the maze trying to find the store you want! It's a modest size, and has a modest selection of merchandise, although it tends to carry only some of the more topical and popular stuff like Hello Kitty or Totoro items. They always have featured items on sale for very good prices, and a nice selection of gift cards and stationery. If you need Asian money envelopes and the like, this is a great place to get some. You can also get your origami and lucky star paper and "vases" as well. They also carry a few housewares (kitchen and bathroom wares, some small decorative and storage items, etc.) and gift items. After months of eyeing a particular lucky cat on the shelf above and behind the cash, I finally made the purchase. It was the last one of its particular kind and the staff pulled it down, wiped it off, and retrieved its cushion and all its packaging, expertly reassembling the box with its contents. This store has a bit of newer competition now with One's and now Miniso, but I have found that it tends to be far more worthwhile to circle back here after checking the other places out, because the prices are that much better for similar items. I like coming here regularly. It's very casual but it's great when you're down for a low key mall hop. Even if I don't buy something each time, I enjoy the browsing experience. It's especially great at the later end of January/early February and you are not dealing with a mob for lunar new year!

Tables are assigned randomly. Food vendors are always to the right side of the event space. People are absolutely talented and so creative! Think about the environmental cost of flying-in to vend! If every race starts limiting events to their own race people this is not a mosaic you are creating!

I signed up for their newsletter and that's how I discovered that they have a retail location in Richmond Hill that was going to be open to the public the same time that I was going to be in the GTA, and the hotel that I was staying at was less than 10 minutes away. I believe that they have 2 retail locations (this one in Richmond Hill and one in Toronto proper). These locations open up to the public for a few months at a time, unlike their travelling sales where they are only in town for a few days. Anyway, it's a warehouse, so it looks and feels like a warehouse. Prices are ok. Some items are fairly cheap, like stickers ($0.50) and books ($2.50-$10). Others are slightly lower than retail, but not bargain basement prices. They had costumes which were the same price as Party City after Halloween. It's pretty big, and is fun to poke around if you have kids in your life. You'll almost certainly find something for them. It's in an industrial park so there's lots of free parking in their parking lot.

It was different checking out half of it as a Korean beauty store. I stepped through the door. I was instantly welcomed by a woman. I saw lemon kombucha. The woman let me know that it was 50% off. Wow! The special offers are by the door. However, you can find discounts throughout the place. There were a bunch of cute socks. The problem is that I have big feet. The largest size for women was a size 9. If you have small to average feet for a woman, you'll be fine with the sock line. I like that this store has tester products. I tried a tester MediFlower hand cream. It was lightly scented with floral notes. It absorbed quickly and didn't leave any sticky residue. Sold! There was foundation in a compact as a tester. Frankly, I wouldn't use that tester, but I did open it up to check out the foundation colour. There were a lot fo facial masks to try, from snail musin, to dark spot serum. You can get a pack of five masks in a box. Alternatively, if you aren't ready to commit, you can get individual facial masks to try out. I saw bottles of nail polish that looked good. However, I found nail wraps for $1 a set that were more my style. What a steal! The woman who greeted me helped with my checkout process. My goodies were just over $23, which seemed insane for a box of ten individual servings of kombucha, a set of five floral hand creams, and three nail wraps. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. The woman put my items in a paper bag. She then gave me a bunch of samples that I still haven't looked closely at. I look forward to trying my goodies out.
