Im rarely this far up north, but lately I've found myself here every once and a while due to a tournament that is held every Saturday. It's an older bowling alley, but seems to be overall in good repair. Aside from one pair of lanes (which broke down a ton) I haven't had issues. Aside fas as good goes, they have your typical bowling alley food, but also some local bakery items, and ice cream. Overall I've enjoyed my time here and if I lived closer I'd have no issues coming here more often read more

The bartender Brenda was an absolute horror. She was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout our hour and a half stay playing darts. She tried to talk about politics and religion while on the clock. There is absolutely no need for any of that. She was dismissive of certain people and only gathered towards those who agreed with her political and religious views. She also tried to close the bar area at 830pm when the bar closes at 11. She rushed everyone out while she stood and played games on her phone waiting for everyone to leave. I go there a lot to play darts and be at the bar and connect with friends, she absolutely ruined that experience tonight. She is not a good representation of Sparetime and puts a bad rep on the company. I would be just fine without seeing her again. Absolutely horrible experience. She should 100% be fired with the way she treated customers and acted in such a terrible manner about certain situations. read more

I grew up going here and have frequented it many times over the years so I've always thought of it fondly. However, after a friend was denied entry to the 21+ area for having a non-American passport, I don't think I'll be coming here again. Racism and discrimination seep from every employee. Would put 0 stars if possible. 10pm on a Friday night and the lights were on. Music was metal and bad rock. Didn't bother checking out the bar, It was probably just as dirty as the entire establishment. Do not talk to the large bald man with a beard that works here, he hates conversation and eye contact. Here's my issue with Sparetime.... They've been around since I was a kid (I'm old) and Roy (and surrounding areas) have grown a lot in the past 20 years. Sparetime has tried to keep up by adding open bowling, galactic bowling and a little black light themed mini golf course. While trying to keep up with times they have not added staff or space to keep up with the demand that piles in there. This facility accommodates leagues bowlers. Although hours are posted online to allow for open bowl, you'll rarely find the place free of leagues and they hold the lanes for leagues. We've tried to reserve lanes, attend family bowl on Mondays, and have attempted to attend galactic bowling many times. Sometimes we get a lane, sometimes we just hit the lounge. I'm finally writing a review because it's gotten so bad since summer of 2023. Hours have become completely inconsistent with those posted online. It's clear that they cater to leagues. I have nothing against that but their business plan needs to reflect this. I'm done trying to support this local business. I know to can be difficult but I can't keep trying to line my schedule up with whatever they have going on at that exact moment. Good luck sparetime, I am only hoping for the best. read more

Sundays are the worst to try and bowl a few frames. Staff is rude and has no system in place for a waiting list. They catre to leagues but do not bother to post any sort of schedule. They don't accept reservations but when you ask about open lanes they tell you that they have them reserved. I guess it's all about who you know in these cases. If you have a little spare time (see what I did there) and are looking for some fun, it can be had at Sparetime! Weekends are busy and now, with the weather turning, it can be a few minute wait to get on a lane. Good news is the prices are low for Sunday bowling ($1.50 per game) and even with shoe rental, the boy and I bowled two games under $14. A couple hours of fun at a cheap price tag. The ball selection was good. House balls may have some small chunks out of them (what are you people DOING to these things??) but you should be able to find what you need, fat thumb hole and all. Kids' balls are available behind the counter and they will take your car keys for you to return it. Lanes were awesome. Bumpers with good technology so even the littlest of littles can have fun. Clean, well-oiled, and I didn't see a single one of the 30+ lanes down. There is also a little food shack that served good food at reasonable prices! They deliver right to your lane and we were both happy with the food and drinks. For the adults, there is a bar / sports area on premise to watch the game and get a bucket of suds. Where do I begin?! They are FANTASTIC! We have a cumulative group of about 130 people and we all were treated like family. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were quick to answer any questions I had come up prior to our party as well as during our party. Me and my family go to Sparetime lanes a LOT and I mean a LOT. The staff always have an awesome attitude to their customers and co workers. Not only does Sparetime have a bar for the adults and bowling, they have galactic mini golf. Sparetime is fast to fix your bowling lane if it is broken. Most of the time it takes about a minute unless they have a line at the desk that is super long. The pro shop is also awesome. It is the same thing in the pro shop like the desk: They're super fast to help you unless they're super busy. Every time me and my family go there, I always see the workers cleaning tables after a party leaves so the next party who wants to bowl has a clean table. Sparetime employees always wear their masks and require and enforce the customers to wear a face covering unless eating. They also make sure to social distance the lames and people. They have the social distance circles to put on the ground and make sure to put the lanes one lane apart unless it is leagues and everyone has their masks on anyway. Sparetime employees also make sure to have their customers put the house balls on a ball rack so they can clean and disinfect them. I would completely recommend going to bowl or have a fun time with ur family or friends. read more

Garbage... Bartenders at bar work for tips. If you don't tip you get treated like dirt. Food is all fried and pricy but when you've been drinking you don't mind. They have plastic pitchers which Some are scratched. Order beers in glass only to avoid getting the poops. This is a darts/sports bar. read more

Used a Groupon here the other night and our experience here was okay. Customer service was mediocre and food was alright. We arrived around 9pm and I was extremely glad that all the families were leaving the time we got there. We were pretty much the only bowlers for a little while and it was nice. They started playing music but I noticed that it was kind of dead when we first arrived (no music). In California, the bowling alleys are like clubs lol so it was a little disappointing that the vibe was dead lol But they started playing some pop songs and later when it was just us, switched up to some classic hip hop which we enjoyed. Would definitely come back. Facility is a bit outdated & dingy, and they should get better wifi service. read more

Went on a Sunday morning. Place was clean, and the lanes, ball returns and scoring all worked well. It's what you would expect from a bowling alley. Nothing great, just your average alley. Lady behind the counter was a bit obnoxious, when I asked if I could leave the lane open instead of prepaying for a set number of games I was told "absolutely not!" We have people just walk out without paying! I offered to leave my credit card like an open bar tab, but once again was told she couldn't do that, you must prepay for your games up front. It's not that big of a deal, we just hadn't decided how many we wanted to bowl in advance and didn't realize that would put her world into a spiral. We payed for 5 games upfront and then wanted to bowl two more. We went back to the counter to pay for last two games but was told she would have to move us because people were waiting. I probably won't go back unless Davis lanes are booked. Place was okay, lady at counter was annoying. We hence forth dubbed her the bowling nazi. read more

Unfortunately we had a negative experience. I called a head, made reservations to reserve lanes for an adult birthday party, had to pay a deposit. I was told that we had to wait for lanes, it could be a while. I had to let him kmow i made reservations at a specific time. Upon arrival no one knew anything about anything, talk about horrible CS. Then our lanes kept needing to be reset. Both Bill and Amy were pretty darn rude, as if we were bothering them. Needless to say, it's pretty doubtful we will return. No consessions were made for the continuous bowling issues. Finally Amy moved us to another lane. We had two lanes and one lane finished several frames ahead. I'd pick a negative star rating for the bad bowling experience. On a positive note the girls in the snack bar area were awesome, great CS and the pizza was really good. I'd rate the snack bar at a 5. Edit: after we paid, and were just about to leave, one of the lane workers came and gave us free game passes. Then Amy came with one. I asked her for a credit on what was paid, she said she could not and had to as Carl (?). I let her know that we would not be returning. On the way out I handed all the passes to some other couples for their bowling pleasure. read more

Ok. Split - maybe 2 for front desk - 5 for the snack bar This was my son's 10th birthday party! The snack bar was very pleasant and responsive. Exceeds expectation. As nice as they were we found the front desk to be that level of unpleasant... Bill is the main contact at the front desk and is primarily responsible for bad rating! He would only give us One kids ball for 7 kids... If we left a second set of keys we got a second kids ball. Slow response on things like getting the bumpers up and reminded us TWICE "bumpers are only for 10 and under!" Then as we were finishing the food at the tables adjacent to the lanes we had other guests assigned to our lane. We had to move to make room when there were literally a dozen open lanes. ***On the positive, they have us 15 extra minutes. read more

The family there started screaming at him and calling him names and swearing at him. He apologized and they still were calling him disrespectful and threatening to beat him up. They got a worker and she didn't listen to us at all and threatened to call the cops if we didnt leave. She was very rude to us too. read more

Unimpressed. People behind the counter act annoyed that you are there. They do league bowling multiple nights a week but don't advertise it in any way to the general public so you show up and can't bowl. Because of leagues, you can't bowl most nights there. Not very clean either. read more

My wife and kids came here on Presidents day. It was crowded but not overly crowded. We got a lane right away with no wait. The lane worked fine with no malfunctions and we even had one bowler with the bumpers and we ran into no problems. There is a decent little cafe with pizza, hamburgers and so forth. They even have a nice little area with some tables to sit down and enjoy your food before or after a game or there are tables at the lane itself you can eat at. They have glow in the dark miniature golf also. We had a special needs child with us, so we couldn't play but I did go look at it and it looked pretty nice. They have wheelchair accessibility which is definitely nice since we had a stroller and wheelchair. The staff was very friendly and caring. They noticed we had a special needs child and came over and asked if he wanted to bowl and brought out a ramp to push the ball down and added him to the list of bowlers. It made it nice to know that they included him also. It would be a good place for a kids party or just to come with your family/ friends. We only bowled one game because of the kids but could have played a few more. We will probably go back when we don't have the kids and play golf and a couple games of bowling. We live in Roy so it made it extremely nice and convenient that it was right there. I have been many places and I would say their lanes are comparable to Boondocks or Rush Funplex. The prices are what you would expect from any bowling alley and they also have specials which they run all week. Check their site out for the special prices. They also have Galactic bowling on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm. All in all this is a place I would recommend for anyone who wants to bowl for a cheap price and maybe get in some miniature golfing or a beer or pizza. Went on Sunday due to being the cheapest price, was told it would be 15 to 20 mins and second on their list although lanes 1 through 17 were open. We waited for 30 minutes And asked how much longer?? The worker asked what did he owner or manager ( I assumed)tell you when you signed up? I told her 15 to 20, she quickly replied how long has it been? she looked at a screen and said probably 20 or 30 mins. Needless to say we left disappointed. It was not a league night but while we were waiting 20 or 30 people showed up didn't check in but started setting up on lanes 1 through 17. we just played two games on Sunday 1/13. we had 4 people in our group and went to ask if we could pay for one more game. the guys at the front desk very rudely told us we couldn't pay for another game with no explanation. when another member of our group went up and asked why they said because of leagues. if they had a time frame for leagues why would you be advertising $2 games all day? also why are you not letting customers know that they may be kicked off their lane? we never want to return and we've bowled here for a very long time. very upset with the service today. read more

Glow Golf ---- Some of the stationary objects in the glow golf are not stuck down they move. There are also holes in the walls and trash lying around and as for the price of $5 its not worth it. There are other places you can go that are cheaper such as Fat Cats or Toad Fun Zone. Wont be returning any time soon. read more
