Terrible customer service. I had been somewhat loyal to AutoZone when I lived in IL. But recently I…read morebought a battery and refurbished alternator from AutoZone Murfreesboro in January. My van went thru a few rounds of repairs... and ultimately too many deeper problems were found and it landed in the auto wreckers in March 2020. COVID shutdowns had already begun and we didn't leave our house much for 2+ months. Went to return the UNUSED parts and the core parts in mid-May, and all my returns were declined because it fell outside the 90-day return policy.... in the middle of pandemic. :( I pleaded my case and was told to take it up with a manager (who wasn't present). I have much more major purchases from other companies that have been more than gracious during the pandemic, even non-refundable airline tickets can be rescheduled. The staff person literally shamed me for not taking care of this return in under 90 days. Even if I can sell the parts at a discount on Facebook, I'm still likely going to lose nearly $200. They have officially lost my business.

I got home and tried to install it myself but the anchors I had didn't work with the screws. I called to ask if I could come in and have them help me install it and they said yes that's something they do. I went the next day with the screws I had purchased and my receipt. Another associate helped me and installed the license plate for me. He was very nice and didn't even charge me for the screws he used. Then gave me my money back for my original purchase in cash. Wow excellent customer service and the prices here are great. Thanks!

When entering an auto parts store, patrons immediately place themselves in one of two categories:…read morethe guy who goes straight to the counter for help, or the guy who just goes to locate an item in an isle. I am the second guy. I like to go grab whatever part I need, utilizing the part-look up directory if necessary. I am also a girl. The first offer for help was appropriate; I declined politely. But as soon as i said no, the associate walked over from behind the counter anyway and proceeded to try to locate my item FOR me. I reiterated that I knew exactly what I was doing. Less surprising, he offered to help me change the wiper blade for me. No. I guess I'm only really annoyed by the tact of his second attempt to 'help' me. If I were a man, I don't think he would have blatantly disregarded my saying that I didn't want help. Unintentional sexism is still sexism.

Of the two O'Reilly Auto Parts stores on Broad St... this is the one you do not go to. I've been a…read morelongtime O'Reilly's customer... I typically shop between them, Advance, and AutoZone (maybe Napa in a pinch). Generally the prices at O'Reilly's are more competitive and they almost always have the parts I need, which can sometimes be for vehicles that aren't super popular. I love working on vehicles and would rate my mechanical aptitude as intermediate. My latest auto need was for a stupid simple battery change... the battery on one of my vehicles had been slowly going out over the last few months and the day finally arrived that I needed a new one. What is usually an in-out experience with a tech at the store kindly swapping the battery out for you turned into anything but ideal. As soon as I walked in I was 'greeted' by a guy behind the counter, but he spoke so softly and was looking at his computer screen the whole time, I didn't really know if he was talking to me or to the other half dozen employees up towards the front of the store. I came up and expressed my need, asked him to run a battery test on it real quick to verify voltage (I didn't have access to my multimeter to do it myself like I usually would). Test showed the voltage was too low - battery purchase need confirmed. While up at the front talking with the associate, all of the other employees were basically screwing around, using pretty foul language, and just all-around pretty unprofessional. I thought, man, I wonder where the manager is, I bet he wouldn't be happy. And then poof, out comes the shift manager, and he's right in the mix participating with them! I should have just left at this point! I asked the tech if he'd be able to help me switch it out real quick, and his response was, "No I don't think so.. it's too cold outside. Basically if it takes more than 10 min or so I'm not going to." I'm pretty sure I was speechless at this point. You work at an AUTO PARTS store, not a cosmetics store.. MAN up! At this point I should have left and gave a competitor my business but for some strange reason, I didn't. I paid for my battery, took it out to my car, which at this point wouldn't turn over, so I needed a JUMP. Amazingly, the guy was happy to give me a jump so I could leave, sure hope he didn't get frost bite. Got back and did the 3-minute job myself.. seriously.. two bolts for the bracket, one nut each for the terminal... battery out... in, reverse order. Done. So now I needed to get my core refund of about $20 since they didn't swap it out at the shop.. so I had to spend more time and money and went to a DIFFERENT O'Reilly's and got the treatment and customer service that O'Reilly's is known for. Do yourself a favor and PASS on this store!!!

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Their pricing is fair and affordable. Long Version: If you have a minute to stick around, let me tell you my story so you will know how awesome this place is..... Roughly four weeks ago, on December 15, 2023, I drove from NC to Murfreesboro to spend a couple of days with family in the area. I was supposed to have a really quick turnaround. During my drive to Murfreesboro, I had a light turn on in my BMW X3 regarding my coolant. I arrived in town Friday evening and the following morning, I took my vehicle to BMW of Nashville to have the coolant checked/refilled. While my vehicle was at the dealer, they identified a leak and completed further diagnosis to determine the radiator hose needed a replacement - this was the primary radiator hose on top. The quote provided to me by the dealership to complete the repair was egregious compared to the average cost for this repair. The cost was FOUR TIMES the average cost of replacing a radiator hose. I immediately began exploring other options which is where Chris comes into play. I called ATL Total Car Care and explained my situation and the needed repair. We talked through it and Chris was willing to help me and take my car in, the same day, to assist. Chris did not have the hose that I needed in stock but said if I could purchase the part directly from the dealer, he would still handle the repair. So, with Chris' idea, I was able to pick up my car from the dealer, purchase the necessary hose directly from the parts department, and then headed to Chris' way! They close around 2 pm on Saturday from what I recall. Chris took my car in around 12:30 that afternoon - he and his team stayed past closing time to complete the repair. The team waited for me to come and pick up the vehicle and close out afterward. Outstanding service. Affordable pricing. Good People.
