I love the promotions that the store puts on because the products can range from household to gardening to sport and everything is such good quality at very reasonable prices. I have tried a lot of their brand products and have found them to be of excellent quality at a low cost. One thing I love about all their stores is that the layout is similar and this makes the task of shopping that much less time consuming. The smell of freshly baked bread is very appealing and again of good quality at affordable price. I still can't understand how a trolley full of groceries can fill your cupboards and still leave change in your pocket!

I love the way that each store shares the same building model so you don't have to wonder the aisles for hours on end. I find each LIDL uses local produce which is a massive plus. Everything is high quality but low prices, great for any home on a budget or otherwise. I also love the specials that they have. Asda moved into the main street to a little bit of consternation due to the fact that they took over the car park that was home to Bangor's market every Wednesday morning for a number of years. But once a sharing agreement was sorted out people have been happy with the addition of Asda to Bangor's town centre. You can get everything here that you would expect and at lower prices than Tescos for the most part. I, for one, think that the pasta and sauces you get here are great and you can't really go wrong with them. The staff are helpful and polite and the selection here is excellent. There is a handy car park that is free if you spend over a fiver so you can't be bad to that. It may not be the most ethical of places to shop, being owned by Wal Mart, but for price and convenience it is hard to beat.

The Mace on Brunswick Road still fresh fruit and vegetables outside the shop, market stall style, flowers are also available to browse, in fact im sure there is all sorts of greenery outside the shop. The beauty of the Mace is that it is open all day every day throughout the year, yes that's right, this includes Christmas day, so if Santa sneaks in and steals all your milk you can pop to Brunswick Road and replace what the chubby chap stole. They also deliver papers all year round and have both commercial and private contracts with local businesses. The staff are courteous and friendly and have built up a large client base over what seems like the thousand years this place has been open.

Crowded at lunchtime on a weekday, we managed to nab a table when another couple finished their meal. It's super busy and inside, it's full of gourmet delights. Smoked salmon on toasted bread, hard Irish cheese, crunchy baguette, sliced turkey, even chilli sauce and something called "black butter." Oh, and wine. You can't have a midday snack without wine, right? Much/most of the food here is quite local (the wine is Spanish) and the staff are helpful. Check the "sandwich board" out front for specials. An Italian section with lots of varieties of pastas and sauces. Cookies from Italy and limoncello! There is a very small Mexican section, which in my opinion was pretty darn good for being in Ireland! They had tortillas, various dry chilies and hot sauces. Lots of cookies, candies, jams and jelly's and a very large tea selection. The cheese case and deli were loaded with so many choices, it was hard to choose! You can order food and eat at tables that are just outside the front of the store. A definite recommend but if you're a foodie, be prepared to be dazzled!

On an incredibly…read moreinfuriatingly wet afternoon in Bangor, I had popped in for, what I hoped, would be a short and sweet visit. I just wanted a magazine after all. Unfortunately, the staff were hmm-ing and ha-ing at the back of the shop, while attempting to locate some grocery or other. After a couple of minutes waiting / coughing / clearing my throat (I'm a pro), I was eventually served by a pleasant shop assistant. Bingo. The second visit was more positive, and took place at 10pm on a balmy summer's evening. An alarming event had occurred (ie. the batteries in my camera had decided to die), and the prospect of an evening without prolific photo-taking was very unsettling. Where sells batteries? I asked myself, when *bing*, I remembered. Perhaps The Quik Shop would be the answer to my pictorial prayers. Dashing down the street, I was delighted to see the shop still open. I asked the girl if they sold batteries, whilst at that exact moment noticing that they did indeed. She checked the price of 3 packs, and informed me that the 8 pack one was the cheapest. I took it, titillated by the apprehension of further photo-taking opportunities. Thank you The Quik Shop for making my life whole again.

Sometimes theses Tesco Express stores lack substantial fruit and veg sections but this cannot be said for this particular branch. They also have a surprisingly large alcohol section with a really good selection of spirits and wines. There's no dedicated parking for this Tesco but if you're lucky you can get parked across the street in the parking bays. Theirs is an ATM outside to add to the convenience. I really like this wee Tesco Express - it has everything the larger stores have! My only slight problem with this store is the fact that they have 2 self-service check out but they never seem to be working/accepting cash which means that there is always a big queue for the 2 other checkouts.

A large and convenient supermarket with ample parking and a good range of choices…read more This one suffered for years with the car park, the upper level having cones and barriers up to cordon off the holes and cracks. This was the case for quite a few years. They have finally fixed it.... The shop itself is well laid out and has a number of other shops and eating places around it which are nice to take a break in. As of September 2025 it is starting to undergo a makeover and a change to the layout, so I'm sure it will look a little refreshed ibuprofen the not too distant future.

She was so friendly and had loads of banter which is rare as they ladies at the till are often bored and grumpy. We really hit it off! That being said It can get jam packed in the forecourt, the price of the petrol being the reason. But if you want to save a few pounds then it is probably worth the wait. The shop itself does not have a great selection of goods, it is really small but stocks the usual convenience items such as milk, bread, cigarettes and sweets to keep the kids quiet. This is a convenient location to have a petrol station as it is in the grounds of Bloomfield's shopping centre, ideal if you want to get your grocery shopping and petrol all at once, then you can spend the pennies left in your pocket o things you actually want.
