As remakes go, this was far from the worst, but I still feel Colm Farrell was miscast as the lead

This is a bit of a random one! Everyone sort of knows what they are getting with big chain…read moresupermarkets. They try but to make themselves as attractive as possible with deals and convenience but to be honest there isn't that much competition on this side of town. There's two Tesco stores within about a mile radius of this shop but that's all I can think of. We decided to visit Asda on Monday evening for a wee change from the norm and I have to say I was impressed, well as impressed as you can be with a supermarket. Ok so what's different and why should you go! Well, as boring as it sounds there is good parking an ATM and it's easy to get to. Next up the choice. It seems like Asda has really stepped up it's game in terms of fresh fruit and veg and meat. They have outsourced their butchers counter here to McGee's, a local brand and they provide fresh cuts of meat for decent prices. It's kind of like a throwback to the bygone days where people would shop local - suppose this is the closest we can get in a supermarket. Few other points to make, they sell booze and often have good deals on. There's also an electronics and clothing section selling all the usual suspects. All in all a good store - I don't think I have ever said I am a fan of a supermarket before but on this occasion I am!

I used to shop here frequently but have found myself less inclined to call in since the changes. North Belfast doesn't have the best selection of supermarkets though and this would be one of the larger options unless you head out to Glengormley/Newtownabbey

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this Tesco store before, I go all the time. Not the most…read moreglamorous review but here goes, hopefully it will useful. First up - this Tesco store isn't 24 hours, don't be caught out! It does have extended opening hour but it's definitely not open all the time. The car park is huge and there's a bottle bank and recycling point right at the back - a handy place to get rid of those post party bottles. The shop itself is huge. They have a Timpsons locksmiths at the entrance so if you need to get a key cut or a shoe mended you can leave it in here and pick it up when you've done your shop. There's also an optician at the back of the store so if you are confusing potatoes and tomatoes I'd pop in here for a check up. A recent addition to this store is the home ware and electronics department which pretty much covers every area. The only thing holding this store back is the lack of manned check outs. They seem to have invested heavily in self service areas but the problem is that most people come here for a big shop and not a few bits therefore rendering these useless as no one wants to stand and scan 1 million items. Really convenient store with loads of wee extras to make life a bit simpler - A-OK!

This Tesco seems to have everything you could want from a supermarket. Good size of electrical…read morerange, clothing, off liscence, bakery and of course groceries. Its open 24 hours which is a plus, which I have had to make use of a number of times due to shopping emergencies etc. The only reason I did not give it a 5 Star is because when you do make use of the 24 hour service, some of the Isles are closed off with the staff replenishing stock levels which can be quite annoying especially if you are after something in particular. The store has a scan as shop service which is really convenient, you scan the items as you shop, place them into your bags in the trolley then pay for everything at the end of your shop! There is also a 24 hour garage at the Tesco which again comes in handy.

Theres every type of food inspired by different countries from India to Greece. Theres pizzas, sub rolls, steaks, tacos, burritos, sushi, moussaka . A wide variety of different tastes to try. There is a small instore bakery with fresh breads and pastries. Small frozen foods section also with frozen meals, ice cream and desserts, there are soy milk and almond milk for anyone who's lactose intolerant also sell some diary free products like diary free butter and more. This store have frequent offers on like dine in for two for £10 , you get a main a side a dessert and a bottle of wine. I buy this offer when its on very handy and a good price. Sometimes have the 3 for £10 offer on selected items. If you have a M&S sparks card you can collect points and redeem special offers tailored to you, you can choose your offers online on the m&s website also a small portion of your money when you shop goes to charity, you can choose which charity you want to donate too on the sparks webpage, I tend to switch between charity's every week that way I give a little to all my selected charity's. Great store with plenty of choice and quality always.

It's a good size and also includes a Post Office so you can grab a few last minute groceries once you have done your Post Office stuff. All boxes ticked. You wouln't do your weekly shop in this store, but the that's not the aim of Centras. What you will get is freshly baked bread, pastries and croissants, fruit and vegetables (although nothing too exotic as I know from the time I stupidly tried to get passion fruit here - I really need to manage my expectations). You can also pick up nice coleslaws, dips, cooked meats and basic groceries. Prices are higher than Asda or Tesco but then you're paying for speed and convenience. There are also frequent 'two for one' type offers too. At the back is a hot food bar where you can get very nice panninis, stew and chips in super quick time. There is some frozen food too and a good range of papers and magazines. All in all this is a good one stop shop when you're in a hurry and need to tick off a few jobs in one place.

There was plenty of it and I got to pick exactly what went in - I even sampled the pasta as I wasn't sure about the sauce, I don't know if you are allowed to do that but sure, you won't tell anyone! I like this Centra as it is more spacious than some of the other branches, the shop is bigger and the queues are smaller. I also love the fact that the post office is just off to the side of it as it saves on two trips - the lovely girl there today helped me send my wedding invites and arrange postage etc for me as I having a mild panic attack! This is a good Centra providing all the basics we come to expect with centra such as great sandwiches and hot food as well as a massive selection. I Heart Centra.
