I had all of my stuff packed up in my car, as I was unlawfully removed from my home today (my landlord asked my sister and I to move her vehicle and he changed the locks on the home in that time). To my surprise the officer showed me compassion. He asked me if I was okay, and if I had a place to sleep tonight. I could tell that he honestly cared. My only regret is not having gotten his name because I want to thank him. In a time where I was feeling that nobody cared about the struggles that I was facing, a police officer gave me compassion. My days start around 5:00 am, like others as well, and if he sees you at the grocery store, the Laundromat, pumping gas, etc. he will grill you over drugs and warrants. Wants your ID and will run your plates...for no good reason. He's bored on his late-night shift and goes on "fishing" expeditions. Too many people here are afraid to say anything, lest the police retaliate. I filed a complaint and the PD never even contacted me. Just imagine, waiting on your Delicates to finish washing and the next thing you know you're being treated like a drug-addled criminal.

I had a flat tire on I-215 and after jacking up my car and taking off the lug nuts, the flat tire…read morewould not come off the hub after repeated kicking and hitting with the lug wrench. I called 911 and they transferred me to the highway patrol. Within a short time a motorcycle officer arrived but did not have any equipment. He called for an incident management unit. He stayed for a while and then had to leave. Soon a highway patrol car arrived and tried to get the wheel off but it was not budging. The incident management truck arrived and they had a large hammer. The wheel still was not coming off. One of the patrolman had the idea to turn the wheel sharply so it could be struck from the backside and the wheel finally came off. I got the wheel changed. The incident management guys topped off the air in my spare and I was able to get back on the road again. The highway patrol officers and the incident management guys were awesome! I also live in Midvale, they take the cake as the worst by far. Lazy, refuse to do their job, they just don't care. Multiple people in my neighborhood call about a troublesome home that sells drugs and what does UPD do? Literally nothing. Not a single patrol vehicle even drove by. They were moving a lot of product that day, they would have witnessed plenty of illegal activity had they responded. So sad. It'll be too late when they finally decide to help. I have zero faith in UPD to protect my family and home. I could also tell stories about how officers (two that I know of for sure) that were literally fired for negligence in their previous department that were hired shortly after by UPD. Proof they don't care who works for them. Can't wait til I can move to a non UPD covered area.
