This is an impressive elementary school. They are a Leader In Me school and have received many…read moreawards and recognition in this regard. When you walk into the school, the principal and office staff are standing in the lobby greeting parents and children as they enter. All the teachers are standing at their door with a student leader to great each child with a verbal welcome and a handshake before entering the room. They start the kids day by treating them as little adults, empowering them to behave as such. The school goals and standards are posted everywhere, along with how they are doing in regard to those goals and standards. They set high standards of their teaches and the kids as well. They focus on the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People written, coached and practiced in ways that the kids understand. This is the back bone of their approach to education and it works. The principal is loved by the kids and he loves them. I think his leadership of the school is what has made them so successful.

I spent 18 long months at Provo Canyon School and it was THE best thing that could have ever happened to me. From the age of 13 I ran away from home, was arrested several times and did things I hate to even think about. Deep down I just needed help. Provo Canyon School changed my life.Provo Canyon School Saved my life and Provo Canyon School saved my family. Simply put, regardless of what mental or physical struggles i was facing while at PCS I was expected to meet the schools high expectations. Hard day at school, so what. There are rules to follow as an individual and as a team/room/unit. Homesick, yep that sucked and on top of it I still had to be obedient individually and as a team. If your kid decides to make life choices like run away from home, do drugs, and break the law. Then your child is capable of graduating from Provo Canyon School like I did. In fact, when they are crying and complaining on phone calls that," hey this place sucks, they arent treating me well." Yada yada yada, then its time for you parents to pull up your big boy pants and say, "well son I wish you wouldnt have made the very choices you did to make it into Provo Canyon School. I hope you obey the rules and learn to be a team player fast so you can graduate and come home to us. Talk to you next week kiddo. Love ya! As hard as the program was, I still call it home for 18 months of my life. Iam sooooo thankfully my parents had it in them to let me be there as long as it took. I am thankful for the roomates that I came to trust and care for while i was there. Iam thankful for the teachers and therapists and unit leaders. I have been back to visit several times over the past 15 years and while I was in the program I got to see graduates return to the school on occasion also. And most of the hope squad does jack diddly squat about our suicide rate, they "save lives" when in reality it makes me want to swing from a ceiling more. The food is overall bad and they don't care to get a grant for free lunches, 3 dollars for a sub par lunch is quite literally theft. The hope squad knows nothing about self harm and supporting people who are suffering, they are like little goons for the counselors that are also terrible at preventing suicide, one of the counselors just stares at you and tells you about the things he's making for his wife while you sit there. Yes some older members of hope squad are supa alpha and a hopie I would like to shout out is Addi and she is so sigma, she actually cares about helping people and not just getting the free trips to sodalicious or wherever they go. Also keeping parents in the dark about a drug planting in a kids car and calling it a school shooting, they put the kids in an extreme state of anxiety because they wanted to save face?? and they told the staff to not tell the kids that there wasn t a school shooting to try and calm the situation. Also keeping everyone in the dark because they would rather have an out of pocket shooter drill where they said "k9s are out because that's a part of the drill" when no school uses k9s for shooter drills than fess up and say that the school has a drug problem. anyway this school has a terrible drug problem save the 250 dollars and dont enroll here.

I still find it so funny that it gets to the point where bad reviews of this place go missing or deleted so the students have to take over.
