The restaurant is very clean on the outside the inside and the surrounding areas. The bathrooms were very clean. They have table cloths that are changed after each customer. The decor is welcoming and feels fancy. My server was very sweet. She was kind. She explained everything. She offered her suggestions when I asked for advice, but she did also have her own recommendations, which I appreciated. She was an attentive to my needs. She also just converse with me as a regular person which I enjoyed. It wasn't just about the menu. The food was great. I had a side salad, my main course was a fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I tried the butter cake. To drink I got the pear mule with cinnamon. No complaints whatsoever. The salad was the freshest salad. I've had in a while, and I love the fact that it was not out of a bag.. the fillet was perfect. The mashed potatoes were perfect and dessert. We had a small plates type menu that had 8 choices including meats, salad, fruit, cheese, fish and sides. Everything tasted delicious and home made. We had approximately 24 people and started with a happy hour with a full bar. The menu options were incredibly complimentary of our teams food interests. The ambience is French countryside. Usually I get as far as emporia that's the first time I've dropped down to Wichita too This place has been here for loads of years it is still a classic roadside diner vibe off of the bypass. So I ordered up a nice good cuz I knew they made a nice hand patted chicken fried steak. I had to taste for french fries and gravy brown gravy on the whole shebang. She also made me a nice fresh salad with lettuce tomato cucumber and cheese was very good too before the meal. They were having some water issues a boil order wasn't effect so there wasn't any soda available on the day I was there that afternoon and they did make cawfee though so I had that. Problem was the iced tea wasn't iced tea it was just hot tea they put it into the cooler they had just started making it. . She brought out the salad it was really nice quite filling. And the chicken fried steak dinner came out it was fantastic they gave me some extra fries I think I didn't ask for it but they were definitely quite a few fries to brown gravy was nice and hot. I left with a very happy belly That's one of the things I miss about that way a lot of times when I used to go out to places West California Arizona we're coming through Kansas I would avoid that Kansas turnpike and work my way across all the way to Hutchinson. And I used to like to stop in here because there is plenty of parking for trucks it's a dirt lot but that doesn't really matter it's just classic little small town in the middle of nowhere farmland. They also take major credit cards no problem. But it definitely was nice to see and I definitely enjoyed my meal and I'm rating the full five bar of stars all the way across like many other people who review here on Yelp basically realize you can't judge a book by its cover.
