I went the the salon to have a set of classic lashes done by Katina. She was very friendly and genuinely kind. This was not my first time having eye lash extensions applied, but it was by far the best experience I've had doing so. Katina was very clear with efficiently explaining each step she was about to take. She also had a very different technique when it came to applying tape to my eyes. It caught me off guard at first, but after explanation from Katina I was comfortable with her rationale to her choices. ALSO her method of applying tape around eyelids was far more comfortable than the usual application of tape I am use to. In addition, removal of the tape was also more comfortable than having someone remove a multiple pieces of tape from your lower lashes (I usually find this the most uncomfortable when I get my lashes done, and my eyes water immediately from the standard tape removal, but not with Katina's method). To top off the lash extension experience, I walked out of the salon with the prettiest, and most natural looking set of lashes. 10/10 for Katina and her excellent service. During my visit I also had brief conversations with some of the other staff, including the manager. All the staff members were extremely kind and Im planning to go back within the next two weeks for a facial. I also want to add this spa is over an hour away from home and I don't drive. I am sure there are many other spas closer by, but I was so satisfied with my experience that the travel is well worth it. Spa is cute and clean!!

I came in to get a second lobe piercing and spent forever picking jewellery. The piercing is free, you just have to pay for the jewellery which can range between 30-100 bucks and they have different options from surgical steel to gold plated. Sherise marked my ear and I stared at it for what felt like an eternity then she marked it again to ensure I was satisfied, she didn't pierce until I was 100% certain. She was really patient through this whole process which I really appreciated. She made me feel super comfortable & I barely felt the needle go in. It's been about a week and my piercing is healing really well! *The one earring I wanted was sold out, so I had to go for a pricier one, but either than that, totally satisfied.

Heidi made sure to explain the process fully and carefully created the colour that I was looking to achieve. To help her with the colour I had in mind, I brought the lip tint that I normally used. She then crafted the colour with her pigments and ensured that I was happy with the colour prior to applying it. Keeping in mind that everyone's pain tolerance level is different, I did not feel uncomfortable or in pain during the actual process (numbing cream was used before the process begun). Heidi made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire lip blushing process. Upon completion, she thoroughly explained the healing and aftercare process. Again, keeping in mind that everyone's skin will react differently, my lips were pretty swollen after. However, as advised by Heidi, the swelling subsided after 2 days and the whole healing process took about 6 days for all the scabs to come off. Thank you Heidi for doing such a wonderful job!

While browsing places to get microblading done for my mom, I came across Oh My Lash and Brow on Yelp. What stood out the most, were the before and after pictures of Heidi's previous clientele. Add in the $250 for $450 voucher and the relative close distance to my house, and I was sold. Next, it was easy calling in and making an appointment for the next day; and Heidi gave useful directions over the phone, for getting to her unit number within the plaza - she is located on the second floor; & once you get up the stairs, there are large signs above each door in the hallway letting you know of which business is which. The overall process took about 3 hours, with the majority of the time being spent on the pre-procedure tasks including: initial information session on microblading, consultation, and sketching of the eyebrows. My mother is a very picky woman so they had to be perfect before we could move on haha - I appreciate Heidi's patience. The actual procedure took anywhere from 30-60 minutes and a lot of numbing agent is applied to the area before and during the procedure to eliminate any pain sensations. Heidi also continually checked in with my mom asking her if she was ok and/or feeling any pain. Another great point to mention was Heidi's obvious knowledge and experience performing this procedure. She gave us plenty of information in the beginning regarding risks, signs of infection to look for following the procedure, and she was sure to explain the sterility of the microblading tools she would be using. [Cool to note that she even staples the freshly opened package to each client's consult form.] With my mom and I both being nurses, we were very happy to see that detail and attention were put into the health safety of the procedure, which involves needles and the breakage of skin, therefore carrying a high potential of transmission of infections. Overall, my mom and I were very happy with the results, the entire process and this wonderful microblading experience with Heidi. She gifted us with another voucher to help spread the word and I will definitely be sure to pass it to a friend. It is well worth the time and money spent! Thank you again Heidi for your professional and courteous service, we will see you again in 3 months time for the first follow-up!

Both my sister in law and I drove from the east end all the way to Vaughan to get our lashes done because we got a great promo deal via Groupon and their work on Instagram looked pretty good. Location: it was a little confusing to get here, but if you look for the TB Tax sign in the plaza, you're in the right spot. There is free parking available and it's a fairly large lot. The salon itself is up a pretty steep flight of stairs and there wasn't an elevator as far as I could tell. It is NOT baby stroller or wheel chair friendly. The space itself is small, clean and pretty. I liked the little touches, like the glitz on the hand towel in the bathroom, and the huge fluffy pillow on the couches. There is no separate area for waiting and treatment, so if you're shy about being beautified with a possible audience, be warned. Mind you, when we visited, there was one other girl finishing up before us and we basically had the place to ourselves. This was great because I had to bring my 8 month old daughter with me and she is a giggly little thing that babbles quite loudly some times. Nicole did both my lashes and my SIL's lashes, although she received an HD set for a 20$ upgrade fee. It was totally worth it if you have a lot of lashes because it looked fabulous on her. I have much shorter and sparser lashes so I stuck with a more natural look. The thing I loved was that I literally just said, "Hey, I just don't want to wear mascara on vacation and still look bright eyed in photos..." and she just knew what to do based on my lash length and eye shape. I also wear glasses so it was important that I didn't get cartoonishly long lashes that bumped my lenses. The lashes were soft and didn't feel stiff to the touch. I left with a little pink pouch with some aftercare instructions and a pink mascara wand to keep the lashes brushed. The lashes held up pretty decently without any refills, even after about four weeks. I've always been pretty good about lash care, but this vacation had been pretty hectic so I hadn't brushed them as much as I normally would and they still looked full, albeit a bit tangled by the end of the day. I'd say they looked pretty good at up until about the six week mark, after which there were just too many lashes that had fallen off. This, however, far exceeded my expectations. Overall, I'd recommend this place, particularly if you live in the area. I don't think I'd be returning regularly only because it's such a trek from my place, but Nicole did a great job and knows what she's doing when it comes to lash extensions.

From there, Pauline was incredibly informative and booked me an appointment on the day I requested for a consult and lash appointment. When I arrived, I filled out a short form and then was taken to the back where there were 6 (maybe 8, my memory fails me) comfy chairs set up with a warm blanket on each one. The chairs are "lazy boy" style and recline back to offer a full, comfortable experience. If you have back problems, the chairs are great because your whole body feels incredibly supported. These chairs are 100x more comfy than sitting in a flatbed. I also felt my neck was really well supported -- super important since lash appointments usually take 1-3 hours from start to completion (depending on the type). Once I was settled in, Pauline asked me what I was looking to do (refill, new set, etc) as well as what length and curl I wanted. From there, she washed my lashes with soap and a eyeshadow brush! She let me know what she was doing every step of the way. My 2 hours appointment flew by and I'm pretty sure I even took a small nap. Overall, the place is clean, there's plenty of parking and is easy to find. Most importantly, Pauline takes great care in what she does and you can rest assured that your lashes are well taken care of here As a bonus, they have a 3 day warranty where you can get a free touch up if your lashes fall out prematurely. They even include a length do's and don't page for you to care for your lashes and a spooly to brush out your lashes.

I thought eyelash extensions might be a little drastic for me and was just looking for something subtle and more natural looking. Everyone in the store was very pleasant to deal with. Making an appointment was a breeze and I even received email confirmation of my appointment and then another email reminder closer to the date. I did start to get regular ad emails as well which I was not all that pleased with but they are easy enough to opt out of. I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment and was taken approximately 15 later. There seemed to be only one person working (apart from the girl at the front desk) and there didn't seem to be anyone waiting when I left. I was led to the station and the aesthetician explained the process. We discussed the colour I was hoping to achieve and she started to mix the tint. After all was said and done, she handed me a mirror and my first thought was... wtf? well, that was a waste of money. My lashes looked horrible. They were patchy and whole sections were missed. At first I thought, oh, maybe I'm missing lashes there but when I got home, I applied a little mascara and nope, not missing lashes, but definitely missing tint in that area. By putting mascara on, I also noticed that the entire outer edge of my lashes on both eyes were missed. My lashes are just a mess now and I can't wait for this to grow out. Needless to say, I will not be back.

I'm extremely picky about extensions, and know a good place when I try it. Out of all the extension places I've tried (more than a dozen in the GTA), Tokyo Beauty Studio is the ONLY place I've come back to. I've been coming to them for a couple years now; Whenever I go on vacation and don't want to deal with the hassle of falsies/mascara, you can find me here. There are different technicians, but everyone is excellent. They're perfectionists and meticulous. I can tell them what I'm looking for - and they'll definitely deliver. Unlike other eyelash extension places, they always understand what I want before putting lashes on me. Best of all, these lashes LAST. The full look lasts around 3 weeks for me (Which is a miracle. Admittedly I do rub my eyes, use cleansing oil, the whole shebam.) I don't want a "I bought $1 falsies from eBay and stacked them on my eye" look.
