I am very sorry to hear that Spaghetto is temporarily closed. I do hope he reopens a sin as possible. The proprietor is an accomplished Pastaio who opened a cozy restaurant in a commerce park near my house. He was constantly attentive to the customers needs and the service was always superlative. His menu was limited, but well curated with options for every palate and his offerings were upscale. For example, the squid ink pasta was consistently superb, The last time we were in, he was working on getting a liquor license. We were, however able to bring our own bottle and reservations needed to be made fairly well in advance ( due somewhat to the limited space) Spaghetto has the vibe of a hidden gem, reminiscent of a small restaurant in Milan or Venice. I was fortunate enough to be recommended this place by colleagues at work. We chose to go today as I had been wanting to try it for a while now. It didn't disappoint at all. The place is a little hidden from street view so just search on any maps app and you'll find it no issue. It's located in a plaza so parking was easy. We were seated super quickly, and our server Roberto, was everything you would want on a top notch service. I believe has something to do with management as well because his service was more than incredible, I asked for recommendations and the first thing he asked is what I liked, and based on that he recommended the type of pasta that would go perfectly with my choice. I chose the truffle pasta and decided to add chicken to it. It blended perfectly and it was so creamy my palate was delighted. I also tried the FIOCCHETTO PEAR & GORGONZOLA. Wow- you have to try it. You can tell pasta is made super fresh and with this perfection the food came out quickly. Prices are fair for the level of goodness. Didn't try dessert this time, but definitely will go back. I had bookmarked Spaghetto for over two years and finally made it! This is a very quaint and simple decor place. Unpretentious cause is all about good food! It is almost as you are having dinner at someone's kitchen and that someone is a True Italian, which they are! The food was cooked to perfection. The service is quick. The owners are super nice! We had the fusilli with vodka sauce and the seafood risotto. For dessert we had the cannoli and cheesecake. They don't sell alcohol, but you can bring your own bottle of wine. Very moderate priced but very filling. We had the burrata Salad with prosciutto. 2 real burrata balls with a load of nicely sliced prosciutto all on top a fresh salad. $14.00. We had the fried calamari. It was considerably smaller in size but cooked perfectly. $18.00 We then had pasta. I had a Carbonara that tasted like I was in Roma herself! We had the lemon chicken. It was nice maybe a little tough but tasted great. The next table had a lasagna that looked amazing. The owner is the waiter. Very pleasant and treated everyone as if they were long lost friends. It is in short, a PASTA factory for commercial pastas sold to local restaurants. He is a small but adequate dining area off to the side. No ambiance but certainly a clean & fresh look. Roberto greeted us like long last friends, providing wine glasses, a cork, told us to take our time, review the specials on the board, ETC. We started off with some Salads. We had a couple of Burrata & prosciutto salads (Fresh, homemade, great quality burrata & Parma that was freshly cut. Tagliere Italiano, cold cuts were more of the above with some salami. I'd stick with the 1st salad as it contains all you need. 7 different entrees ensued. I won't describe them all but the pastas were fresh and homemade. All dishes were served piping hot and made to order. Flavors were rich if not sinful. He even threw in a couple of Ricotta Cheesecake desserts. Look this is not some fancy white tablecloth place. It is as basic as it gets, yet it surpasses in food & quality many 5-star places I've been too. If you just want a fantastic meal and extremely reasonable price points. We were on our way home from Miami and decided to stop at this hidden gem. We were greeted by the sweetest gentleman, and made to feel like we were walking into his home for dinner. We ordered the octopus and pasta, Black Linguine in Squid Ink and Shrimps, and Ossobuco with linguine and mushrooms. I'm telling you, it was all Devine. My son is Korean and said, "Mom, that's by far the best pasta I've ever eaten in my life." The ossobuco was so delicious and just melted in your mouth. If I could I would give it zero stars. We took out food from them tonight for the first time and the last. I don't know how they got such good reviews. The food was in edible. I literally took one bite and didn't eat anymore of it..We got the chicken parmigiana (2 orders) and 1 order of lemon chicken. If you are from Italy or if you have visited Italy, you will appreciate their food. This is as authentic as it gets. The staff were busy. Only two people were handling the front of the house. I don't mind as they don't rush you when you eat here. You can bring your own wine as they don't sell any alcohol. I usually get the Peligrino water. We had the appetizer of Italian meats and the quality was supurb. I could eat that right now as I'm writing, it was so good! Their bread is made on site and is crusty on the outside and soft and warm inside. There is olive oil and salt on the table for the bread. I have too many favorite dishes here but lately the squid ink pasta is what I order. I had it with mixed seafood in a red sauce. It also can be prepared in a white sauce. When the seafood mixed with the sauce it was heavenly. My nephew had the fiochetto with Pear with Gorgonzola sauce. That was rich and delicious. They are small pasta pockets with pear and ricotta topped with a sauce you won't forget. If you come, make reservations on the weekend. They are closed Sunday. The dining area is small. Spaghetto is located in a row of warehouses on Oakes Rd. The location isn't exactly where you expect a restaurant to be, but the interior isn't that bad. After reviewing the menu, we ordered the shrimp and zucchini linguine, Gorgonzola gnocchi, seafood risotto, and fettuccine carbonara. Before our food arrived, we were given complimentary bread that was delicious! Fresh homemade bread that you can buy and take home, like their homemade pasta and sauces. The food, on the other hand, was standard. The carbonara was missing a pinch of salt. The linguine and gnocchi were average, but the risotto didn't taste fresh. Items we ordered included: Burrata Salad Pasta with Pesto Sauce Meatballs Pasta with Bolognese and Meatballs Lemon Chicken The most outstanding item was the Burrata, which had the perfect texture and taste Spaghetto is known for their homemade pastas. The pasta we had did not disappoint, with a firm but chewy texture. The pesto sauce was good, but the Bolognese was flavorless. The proteins were underwhelming. If the meatballs were homemade, they did not taste like it. To me they had a salty, processed flavor. The grilled chicken was totally bland. How can you serve chicken with absolutely no seasoning? We were a party of 7, and Roberto went out of his way to make us feel like family. For dinner we had an array of items, including meatballs, which are in a delicious gravy (sauce), Italian meats and burrata, ossobucco, and a few pasta dishes. I had the regular menue selection of Clams and Linguine in white sauce with little neck clams $16.00 My wife had Fiocchetto with Pear and a white cream sauce $18.00 for dessert we had takeaway Small Double Cannoli $4.00 and Tiramisu $5.00. The pasta is made it this location and they sell many different types by the pound. To me the pasta was on the heavier side more like Sicilian. I really try to give the benefit of the doubt and normally if some thing isn't very good, I just don't rate the place. Tonight was over the top bad though. Spaghetto factory on oaks road in davie tonight. First the good...The orange crush, water, coke and bread were very good. Daughter's tortellini was cooked properly, alfredo sauce had a good flavor but was very runny. The presentation was very nice too. It looked great! That's it The chk parm was not seasoned at all but worse was it seemed like it was marinated in the sauce after it was fried because the entire thing was hard inside and gummy outside. It had a really bizarre texture. The spaghetti with it was almost cooked enough to be considered all dente...but not quite. My Marsala tasted like a brown gravy with not a hint of Marsala flavor. I love spice...love arrabiata...The angry sauce but this was so much more than just red pepper. It was like a scoop of cayenne was added. It was inedible. I ate the chicken because it wasn't bad, just not Marsala, and our waitress never returned. Ever. We just sat and talked and joked about how bad everything was and were wondering when she was going to return. She finally did after about 20 minutes asking if we wanted boxes. There were 2 bites gone from the chicken only because we each tried it and 1 bite from each pasta. I told her of the problems, that the food was not prepared properly and she told us to pay up front. We followed her to the front where she told the manager about our food, then I told him about our food and he said "sorry" and presented me the bill. I asked if he understood that more than half of our food was not good and the waitress disappeared for 20 minutes and if he understood that if he should do something about our bill. He did nothing. I paid in cash while informing him that because of the really poor service, bad food and his lack of response that we won't return. He said nothing. Just looked at me and we left. In a word: rustic. Pulling up to this place, we almost left. It's in an industrial plaza that makes it feel like a truck stop. We shrugged and went inside anyway, and boy were we glad we did! Service was the no-frills kind you'd expect at a place like this. There were only a few tables, so two servers can kind of just position themselves in a way to make eye contact with everyone in a matter of seconds. The menu was wordy, but simple. Basically you choose your noodle and sauce, or decide from one of a handful of specialty options. I went with the meat lasagna while my friend ordered the fusilli noodles with pink vodka sauce. They brought us bread and waters. We were disappointed that they didn't serve alcohol, but there is the option to bring your own wine! Next time we will take full advantage. The food came out and I gawked at how massive my piece of lasagna was. It was about the size of my whole face. We dug in and we're quickly captivated by the deliciousness of these dishes! Pumpkin Ravioli w/ Gongorzola Sauce 5/10 The sauce was delicious BUT the ravioli's were super hard! They needed to cook about another 5 mins to achieve that perfect texture. Chicken Parmigiana w/ spaghetti- 5/10 Ehh nothing delicious about this dish- it was just okay. Fettuccine Alfredo w/ shrimp- 6/10 It was good - the Alfredo lacked a bit of flavor. This place is pasta heaven! Everything is so fresh and made in house. I honestly can not say enough good things about spaghetto. I had the gnocchi with the Gorgonzola cream sauce which was exceptional. The gnocchi were super soft and pillow like. I also ordered the spinach fettuccini with pesto sauce and it was delicious. The cannolis were bomb and the staff is so nice and attentive. If the food was exceptional for takeout I'm sure it's even more delicious sitting down. I snagged a bite of my friend's meat lasagna. Yum! It was huge and had the nice crispy edges from baking in the pan.
