Just over a year ago now, my teeth were in the worst condition they had ever been in. I was 23 years old with: More than a handful of cavities Leaky silver fillings Missing silver fillings A Missing molar that caused a lot of surrounding bone to wear away A molar cavity so bad that I had to get a root canal Growing up, dental visits were rare occasions. I really only went to the dentist when it was ABSOLUTELY necessary, such as when I had to get fillings from having multiple noticeable cavities. Over time, a combinations of genetics and the lack of regular dental check ups caught up to me. This is when I realized that I had to prioritize my dental health and find a GOOD dentist before I too would have half of my teeth missing by my 40's just like much of my family does now. So, just over a year ago, I searched and searched for the best dentist I could find that I thought could be the best fit for my situation. Let me tell all of you: Dr. Yoon, her assistant Silk, and her office manager Sheridan, all surpassed what I thought good dental care could be! I am SO GLAD I found Space Dental. My teeth aren't just beautiful now, but they are also healthy! So, let me break everything Space Dental has been able to accomplish so far with Dr. Yoon's expertise: All my cavities are filled with white fillings All of my previous silver filling have been replaced with white fillings (this means no more mercury leakage, dicolored teeth, or expansion and contraction that occurs from silver fillings) I received a root canal I received a bone graft for my missing molar in order to provide support and structure for my implant (my molar was missing for nearly 10 years, so a lot of my surrounding bone was worn away) I received an implant after my bone graft was completely healed and fused to my surrounding bone My wisdom teeth were extracted Missing fillings were filled with white filling SOME THINGS I'D LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT: I was pretty concerned about the pain I thought I would experience for a lot of the procedures I had. Specifically, the root canal, bone graft, implant, and wisdom teeth extraction. I am not kidding when I say that I did not feel ANY PAIN during any one of those procedures and the pain I thought I'd experience during the healing process of each one of those procedures was SO SO SO MUCH LESS than I would have ever expected! Dr. Yoon did what other dentists made me believe to be IMPOSSIBLE! I went to quite a few dentists concerned about my missing molar and, to summarize, each one of them said the same thing, "Your surrounding bone has receded too much.....You'll need a bridge." Hearing that made me feel extremely discouraged because bridges DO NOT FIX A ROOT PROBLEM, which is receding jaw bone that can lead to a list of future complications, such as facial collapse. I went to Dr. Yoon about this major concern of mine, and she gladly took on this challenge. She did make me aware that there was a possibility the bone graft would be unsuccessful, but she told me she was CONFIDENT that she could restore the significant bone loss experienced due to my missing molar despite what other dentists told me........... THE BONE GRAFT WAS A SUCCESS and I got the implant. Dr. Yoon took her time and was precise. She made possible what other dentists said was impossible. She changed what I thought was destined to be irreversible progression of receding jaw bone to a healthy and strong jaw bone with a beautiful implant! And lastly, I am no longer insecure about my teeth! I will be getting Clear Correct from Dr. Yoon here in the near future. I plan to get ALL of my future dental work AND REGULAR CHECK- UPS done with her and her amazing team. If/when I ever move, I hope I can find another dentist that is as good as Dr. Yoon. A little bit about Dr. Yoon: Dr. Yoon is very smart, attentive, kind, and seriously VERY GOOD at what she does. May I also add in how passionate she is about what she does. You can easily see it through the energy that radiates out of her. A little bit about Silk: Silk is a very kind, down to earth, and (even though it isn't part of Silk's job to necessarily be this) she is such an empathetic listener! I've been to Space Dental my fair share of times now, so that had led to many opportunities for small talk with her. She helps the entire environment feel relaxed. She always greets me with a smile, asks how I'm doing, goes over what needs to be done next, and even makes sure I am getting full use of my dental insurance each year! I actually started an account to leave this review because they deserve it. I'll start by saying I need major work done. I barely ever went to the dentist as a kid and on top of that I became an addict. I'm now in recovery and left dealing with the consequences. I've been so ashamed of my teeth that I've become socially anxious and have been seriously dreading going to the dentist! I'm so embarrassed and I just knew there was NO WAY I could afford all the work I need & want done; implants, fillings and root canals etc... I've been extremely discouraged because of it but I'm so glad I gave Space Dental a chance. I saw the reviews and gave them a call but it was the woman I spoke with on the phone that really sold me. I've been there twice now and was extremely emotional the entire time, I know they've heard many sob stories but they really seemed to care and want to help me. They saw how affected I was and somehow managed to make me see some light at the end of the tunnel. They really want to help me. I had a small amount of money saved and I'm glad I spent it here. I believe they really care and want to give people their smile back. Dental work is ridiculously expensive, especially the work I need done but I honestly feel like we'll get there. I'm so grateful because I'm barely improving my credit again, I can't max out credit cards or go into debt. I've already put many things on the back burner for my dental work and that was my main concern. However they're working with me and I'm paying what I can when I can and I'll see how far that gets me. I'm scared to get my hopes up but if I have any hope at all it's because of them. Lastly, I like to add I was pretty terrified. I remember my past experiences at the dentist being extremely painful. However I had extractions and screws in for implants done here with barely any pain. she was done so fast I couldn't believe it. She definitely has skills. I literally made a yelp account to rate this place - it's that good. After neglecting to visit a dentist for nearly 3 years, I decided it was time to stop putting it off and I can't tell you how lucky I was to find Dr. Yoon through my insurance portal. When I first went in, I knew my previous negligence was going to result in a good amount of work needing to be done, but my real fear (that kept me away from dentists for so long) was of judgement due to my decisions of not getting care sooner. There was absolutely no judgement, and not only that, but there was so much mutual respect and kindness from Dr. Yoon and the rest of the staff. She transparently let me know what damage I had, what was the most critical work that needed to get done, and what could be held off for the time being. Then she got to work immediately, repairing the cosmetic damage right off of the bat so I wasn't ashamed to smile anymore, and then she got started on the crowns on the teeth with really bad decay. A few months later and she's done a ton of great work on the teeth that severely needed help, being very transparent that I might need root canals on some of them, but due to her skillfulness I haven't needed a root canal yet. She's also been very fair and generous with the pricing regarding the treatment I need and the additional cherry-on-the-top perks that her office includes such as Invisalign consultations, whitening, and additional plaque removal when I'm there for the crown/filling appointment. I could not recommend this office enough to anyone who either just moved to the area, or who wants to switch to a new dentist who's kind-hearted, honest, and clearly an expert in her field. read more

Okay I created a yelp just to review this place because I felt it was important to do so. I got a root canal with Dr. Yoon today and it was pain wise on a scale of 1-10 a 2 at most. I will admit that I have a very high pain tolerance but irrespective of that I am a very anxious person, so I made the mistake of googling "root canal experiences" the night before with key words like "excruciating." I was a little nervous walking in but that quickly went away. The environment was calm, much more peaceful than bigger dentist office tend to be. Dr. Yoon was so kind in her demeanor and a pro at numbing cause my pain was minimal. The root canal was uncomfortable at times due to the feeling of pressure but other than that it was a positive experience. My numbing has worn off and I do not feel any pain. Today is day one, so if anything major changes I will update my review. But for now, I would definitely recommend this place. And just a personal tip when getting a root canal...my key advice would be to relax and breathe. read more

If you are looking for the best dentist around Los Angeles area, I highly recommend Dr. Yoon. I have moved around couple dental clinics due to their extra-charges or overtreatment issue. It was so hard to find the right one that I could trust. You know how tooth problem is very sensitive since its quite pricy, painful and scary.......Then I finally met Dr Yoon, which I was so lucky to find her. Now even all my family members are getting dental work from Dr Yoon. Every treatment was satisfied and pleasant. I have never felt more warm and relaxed in a Dentist office before coming to Space Dental. Space Dental and the staff is warm, welcoming and very comforting! Unlike other dentist office, Dr.Yoon and her assistant Ms.Silkia did not judge me or make me feel ashamed about where I was in my dental health journey. I've been coming to Space Dental since I was 18, and now at 22, I can honestly say this is the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Yoon and her team have taken amazing care of me over the years, from regular cleanings and fillings to my wisdom teeth removal. Most recently, I had a dental emergency just days before my college graduation when one of my front teeth broke. I was stressed and needed it fixed fast. When it comes to choose Dentist. Treatment is important but most of dentist knows how to do the treatment. When it comes to dentist my main concern is not forcing me or pressure me to get more treatment. I am not expert on this so dentist might say right things but my budget is important and some treatment may get pushed back later When I visited this place I got my implants done but doctor was kind enough to explain what treatment should I get next and when i should come back. Also staff told me when my insurance expires and all so I can plan the next visit accordingly. Yep. This will be my dentist from now on. read more

I had such a great experience at this dental office! The team was more than willing to work with me and truly listened to all of my concerns. They explained everything they were doing step by step, which I really appreciated--especially after having bad dental experiences in the past. I got to know Dr Yoon from friend's recommendation which i think it was the best thing that my friend did to me in her life hahaha:) I had wisdom teeth issue and didn't know which dentist to see cuz mine was quite complicated. Result was very great and satisfied. I can feel that she is really skilled and confident with her work. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I have been to so many dental offices and I'm sure this place this place is one of the best dental office around LA area. My impression about this place was very clean. I mean its Dental office. It should be clean and all that right? Also, Doctor Yoon is Jack of all trade kinds of dentist. She can provide all services and any treatment as needed. I searched and went to several dentists before I found Dr. Yoon at Space Dental on Hawthorn Blvd. I cannot believe how many dentists tack on extra unnecessary dental work and costs that have nothing to do with the obvious dental issue that I needed work on. I found Dr. Yoon and have been very satisfied with her work. I've had 2 crowns put in and have started on an implant. She is very efficient, fast and is very good with getting along with people .
