I'm in need of emergency tooth extractions that is causing severe throbbing and pain Advil is not working! My current dentist office is closed! -the on call Dentist that took the call was very inpatient , rude nor kind and was not willing to listen to my questions... instead he assumed my questions were complaints and acted as if Im saying I can't pay or don't want to pay when I have great Insurrance and have had said Insurrance for over 27 years! I just wanted to understand the process of their payments! -I tried to get the dentist that was on call to understand what I'm asking him I was hoping for his Grace while I'm in severe pain to no avail! -Either his comprehension was off or he did not want to work this date him seeming frustrated telling me I can make an appointment tomorrow? -I felt no compassion when I'm feeling scared , in pain and i just reached out for help to hear a kind voice to help me in need! She has the warmest, happiest, most bubbly personality. Her energy immediately made me feel welcome, and that matters so much when you're walking into a dental office and may already be feeling a little nervous. There was another young woman at the front desk whose name I unfortunately cannot remember, and she was equally kind, professional and welcoming. Then I met **Dr. Joel Caraballo**, and I immediately felt comfortable with him. Dr. Caraballo listened. That was incredibly important to me. He allowed me to explain my concerns and some of my previous dental history without making me feel rushed or dismissed. He conducted a thorough examination, including X-rays, and took the time to explain what he was seeing and what he recommended moving forward. I was specifically looking for a dentist with an excellent bedside manner--someone compassionate, knowledgeable and honest who would listen to me, tell me the truth about my dental health and recommend additional care when it was genuinely necessary. I felt that I found exactly that in Dr. Caraballo. He made recommendations regarding my care, explained why he was making them, and I felt comfortable moving forward with his recommendations. I trust his professional judgment, and for me, developing that level of trust with a dentist is extremely important. The dental assistant who worked with me was also incredibly kind, gentle and professional. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name, but she listened to some of my history as well and treated me with genuine compassion. I also love the message New Image Dental shares about caring for people who may be fearful or apprehensive about going to the dentist. Please don't let fear keep you from taking care of your teeth and gums. BEWARE: Before my appointment, Toothopia confirmed that I did not have dental insurance. During the…read moreappointment, I was initially told that I had around 3 cavities, then 4, which already surprised me because I've never had more than one or two cavities at a time in my life. Then, when I got to checkout, they again confirmed that I was uninsured and suddenly told me that I had 6 cavities. I asked why the dentist looking at my teeth said I had 4 and the lady at check out said the dentist had mispoken on how many based on the scans? They quoted me approximately $2,000 for the recommended dental work. Going from 3 to 4 cavities during the exam to 6 at checkout, along with a $2,000 treatment quote, felt extremely strange to me. The whole situation just felt off, and I became suspicious enough that I did not feel comfortable moving forward without another opinion. I went to a completely different dental office, had new X-rays taken and a full exam, and they told me that I have zero cavities. I had them double check as I was shocked to hear this, and also then after explained the situation that had occurred here. And they again confirmed that no, I had no cavities. I understand that dentists can sometimes interpret things differently, but the difference between being told I had 3-4 cavities, then 6 cavities, being quoted around $2,000 in treatment, and ultimately having another dentist find none at all is pretty shocking. I'm extremely glad I trusted my instincts and got a second opinion before agreeing to treatment. I would not go here and am at a loss of words for the situation Toothopia nearly put me in.
