Was running late as it was on the day of the flooding. They kindly moved my appt 30 minutes later with no late free. They started with gel mani instead of pedi. You'd think the pedi would go first for them to dry and all pedi stations were open. But it's up to them so we did nails first. Im paired with Claudia. I asked for a milky white. We look through the ring of colors and choose one. The manicure itself was very painful. Claudia was quick and hard. I spoke up twice about the pain. As you can see, my cuticles are cut tf up. Every time she used alcohol or acetone, my hands were on fire. Time for polish. She does two coats of the milky white color. It isn't milky, it's streaky af. I'm quiet as I am waiting to see if she's gonna do another coat or what. She is about to go in with the top coat to seal it in and I stop her. Tell her this isn't opaque, it's streaky and frankly not pretty. Claudia says it the nail polish's fault that it looks like that....which I get....but you were just gonna let that happen? So I ask if we can change the color. She hands me the ring of colors again. As im looking through colors, she goes over to complain to a coworker about all of the above. That I've changed color, I didn't like it, it's the nail polishes fault etc. Mind you, they talking in Spanish in ear shot thinking I don't know Spanish (when I'm literally Cuban). I swallow my pride since I want this service as I have a feeling I'm going to be proposed to soon. I choose a red this time since it has a higher chance of the polish not being the problem. She starts to paint. The woman who she was complaining to comes over to ask for the ring of colors, Claudia says yes she chose a color. Her friend says are you sure? And they laugh. I tell Claudia that that wasn't cool and I understand what you're saying. She laughs it off and continues. On top of this RUDE behavior, look at this paint job. This is TWO DAYS after. The paint job is no where near the bed of the nail or the edges. It's uneven, lifting, overall a horrible paint job and cuticle work. She finished the mani and I say I don't want the pedicure anymore. I head over to pay at the front desk. And she stands there the whole time. I wanted to speak to the front desk about this instead of a review, but felt very uncomfortable with her there. I hate writing this review tbh. I want to support local business. I want to support my fellow Latinas. I want to have pretty nails. I want to get my moneys worth. Alejandra has done my nails a few times and she kills it. She was booked so I tried someone else. The service with Claudia overall left a bad taste in my mouth for the entire salon.

In addition to the hype, I heard that they offered Dazzle Dry, a service that was new to me but was essentially a long-lasting manicure without the need for harsh gel polish and all of the issues that go along with that. I read several reviews for this original location and saw that Kitty was highly recommended, so I booked an appointment with her on their website. I arrived at the salon and found it clean, modern, and cozy, but a bit cramped. I checked in at the front desk and was told to sit at the last desk, where my manicure then began. My technician was extremely careful and detailed. She filed my nails perfectly, was very gentle while trimming my cuticles, and expertly painted each digit. However, I did notice that she followed a slightly different process than on the Dazzle Dry website in that she did not leave a lot of time between each coat and let the top coat dry for 10 minutes (rather than 5) before applying the finishing oil. (I gave it some time before I wrote this review to see how that would affect the length of the manicure, but it lasted for over two weeks! I even heavily cleaned my apartment during that time and did not experience any chipping. I was impressed!) As my treatment was wrapping up, I heard someone call out for "Kitty", but she was addressing an entirely different woman. It was at that point that I realized that I had been engaging with another beautician. I did not want to make a big deal out of it, but I asked the front desk attendant who had worked on me, and she said "Yolanda". I was a bit annoyed that they had altered my appointment without saying anything to me, but since Yolanda had done such a nice job, I just let it go. At least I now know of two recommended manicurists!

I didn't have to wait long for someone to take me upon arrival. My initial thought is "wow this place is TIGHT," it feels super cramped. And it was crowded on a weekday at 3PM. Very hoboken crowd, iykyk. I get assigned to a manicurist who really isn't that friendly. Low-key rude and not pleasant. They randomly ask me to switch manicurists to the girl next to her. Don't give me a reason why. I ask the manicurist why and she just shrugs. OK? I had my own nail polishes because I'm super picky about that thing. The new girl was kind. Sweet. Very young. We spoke Spanish. You can tell she was new because the rude manicurist was telling her what not to do and what to do next. My manicure was OK. I gave her a good tip because I knew she was new and they were just being rude to her. My cuticles were cut up the next day, weird because I've never had that happen to me. Doubt I'll return. Too bad because the place was nice and clean just so cramped.

Anyway, they're cheap and usually do a good job so I went in to get my second dip powder manicure. My first one that I got here was really thick but it lasted and my nails grew nicely over 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. Just wanted to get it done again to keep them up. This time was *terrible*. Four nails are popping off only a week and a bit later (they started popping off after about 3 days, but it got really noticeable when I snagged my hair on them a couple of times!). So not only are they popping off now only a week and a half later, but when she was doing them, she didn't even ask if I wanted my nails trimmed (I didn't), she just started cutting them, so then I had to let her cut the rest to make them even. And then the filing, again, was too hard and painful. One nail even has a rough edge that didn't get coated properly. I'm not going back here, which is a shame, because it's close to my place and has really good prices.

Currently just under a week and no chips. If you've been hunting for a new salon in the area, I think you'll like this spot. Very no frills but quality place that I am sure I'll have a little treat-myself-day at a lot more regularly.

I had red polish that had to be removed and there's still speckles of the red that wasn't removed. I also got this beautiful dark green that NO LONGER looks the same. They've clearly thinned it out one too many times and now it took 3 coats and still isn't the opacity I was hoping for. The manicure was extremely sloppy. After being a regular customer, I think it's time I stop coming here. I didn't even touch on the hygiene/atmosphere of the place... save yourself, it's gross. They probably only clean up for audits.

Firstly I was assigned to the male tech as soon as I walked in although I wanted to take my time and pick a color. He started working immediately and became annoyed when I did not have a color picked, which is hard to do when he is already working on my nails. From there he rushed much of the job and dismissed my concerns when I pointed out cracks or unevenness in the application. As you can see this resulted in a very sloppy job with the color on my skin for most of my fingers. Lastly, a main reason I get dip is to eliminate the UV light exposure. He forced me to place my fingers in the UV light machine multiple times which was truly the last stray. Save your time and go to JC creative who are very experienced and attentive to nails!
